Henrietta made a decision; Dove and Yuri looked like they were going to argue, and much as she didn't like it, she was glad that Dove had come back...
The words dropped and were the last incentive needed. It wasn't something that would be pleasant for her... So she was sure it couldn't be for Jace. The girl put a hand out for her younger friend's hand. She wanted to get away from the anger, and get Jace away from the anger; they wouldn't have to go far... Dove hadn't gone far, but she'd been out of sight before she'd come back. The girl thought that just getting a little out of the way, like that, might be better. Perhaps they could play something while they waited for the adults to cool off or something.
Gummy sat, unconcerned, perhaps knowing Henrietta wouldn't go far, while Fluffster whined at Lovey; she didn't understand all this at all.
Winglet clung to Henrietta's head, where ever the girl went, the bat would go.

Jace was about to protest until Dove's snap brought about a suffocating silence, and without a word, he took Henrietta's hand, unsure of where they would go, but fully trusting his friend. Chester followed suit, and the boy's other Pokemon were returned as their trainer followed Hen.
The boy watched Yuri over his shoulder, his face suddenly pink. He didn't know what was going on, but what Dove had said, even if she didn't mean it, had obviously made Yuri sad.
Lovey went again to Fluffster, nuzzling the little eevee's side as she whimpered. It would be okay...
Dove stood in silence, very bit of her anger replaced by needles of fear, coupled now with an overwhelming sense of guilt, amplified by the children's decision to leave. Afraid to move any closerr, but without taking get eyes off of him, she attempted to speak, finding the words trapped in a tightened throat. She couldn't speak...even though she had been the one to say it, the words left her speechless.
Her breathing more shallow in the rising panick, she shook her head and took a step back from the fire, torn between running off to clear her head and escape or staying at the camp and fighting herself to attempt to apologize. To leave would only upset the children further, though of course, they had looked ready to run off themselves. To attempt to apologize now might only make matters worse, and she was terrified of how he might react if she tried.
Closing her eyes a moment, she made her decision, though not wholly, and went to her place in the camp, careful not to make any doubt, and settled down against Aurora, seeking shelter from the cold that she knew she wouldn't find tonight.

Jace nodded meekly, looking back over his shoulder, his worries amplified now that the adults were out of sight. "Yeah... 'M fine," he told her, though his voice was quieter. "You okay?"
It scared him. It hadn't been a violent argument, but his parents never said anything bad in front of him... He had never seen them mad at each other. Not like that. He had had friends, though, who came to school unhappy an tired, who blamed it on this type of predicament. He now felt he could sort of feel the same things.
Chester curled around the boy where he sat, hoping to keep him warm and close enough to attempt the same for Henrietta should she need it, as well as comfort them both.

Jace looked over at Henrietta, then shook his head. "Yeah, I dun wanna go back over there yet either." The grown ups were fighting, and it was foreign to him, and he really didn't like it at all. Over the past few days, he had begun to think of them as a sort of family, Yuri as his big brother and Hen and Dove as sisters of a kind. He didn't want to see them angry with each other...
After a few moments, Lovey would appear just behind them, offering a curious and worried bark as she tried to find them--and her daughter-- in the dark. Seeing the flicker of the charmander's flame, she hopped up beside Henrietta, peering curiously at the two young trainers in a silent question: Are you two okay?

"They'll totally be fine soon. Adults are just weird sometimes." Henrietta decided, firmly. "It'll all be better in the morning!" She reached, carefully, to offer a petting for Chester, and then beamed as Lovey found them. "Hi Lovey!"
Fluffster snuffled and emerged from the bush just a few steps away; she'd accidentally taken a 'longer route' than her mother, and was, at first, confused to see that Lovey had beaten her here. She yipped, happily, though, and wagged her tail as she approached them.

Jace stayed quiet for a minute, then leaned over to rest his head on Henrietta's shoulder. "If you say so..." While Dove wasn't fond of being touched while upset, at least, in most cases, Jace certainly sought comfort in closeness.
Chester gratefully received the pettings, smiling at Hen and offering a lopsided grin, before looking at the eevee as they both approached. At the greeting, Lovey offered a soft, content whine, rubbed her head and ruff against the girl, then stepped around to call to her daughter to join them up on the rocks before she stepped around to Jace and pawed at his leg gently. The girl seemed to be handling it better than he was, at least, on the outside.
With a small look, the boy leaned forward and scooped Lovey up, snuggling her in his arms and burying her face in her ruff before leaning against Hen again.
