[FIN] Tales of (not quite so much) Joy

"Flower shops usually have some flowers outside too! So we gotta look for a shop with lots of flowers outside... They also have pretty windows and get painted green a lot!" Henrietta recalled what she could about flower shops she'd seen in real life, and on TV. There was one or two in Goldenrod, but she'd never paid any real attention to it.
"I think there are sometimes flower carts too, cuz they appear in films."

Jace stayed close to Flynn, looking around at the city in an almost tupor. It was so pretty, and even sad, he couldn't help but be amazed. When Henrietta reeled off her information, he nodded, agreeing with her even though he wasn't quite sure about them himself.

Dawn fluttered over head, then made her perch atop the boy's, snuggling down into his hair as he giggled a bit. "What kind of flowers are there?" he wondered aloud, pondering what type they should get for their friends.

But wait. Henrietta was a girl too, and she had helped Yuri too...

Flynn smiled at Henrietta and nodded. "That's true, it shouldn't be hard to spot one. And in a city like this you would think they would be everywhere." A city that was placed in trees obviously highly valued plants.

At Jaces question, he tilted his gaze upward thoughtly as they walked. "There are many kinds to choose from usually. Roses are always popular, especially with girls. Then there's daisies, lilies, carnations, and tulips to name a few."

"I think Dove likes white stuff, maybe pink too, but I dunno. I kinda think she likes orange too cuz so many of her pokémon are orange but then, my favourite colours are yellow and blue, and Gummy and Fluffster aren't yellow -or- blue... But I'm pretty sure she likes white stuff. Are there white roses? There must be right? Maybe we should get her some white roses?" She didn't really know how much flowers cost...

Gummy didn't seem to notice the tree-city. Bistra certainly did.
The bird cooed and trilled with fascination at it all, though kept atop of Henrietta's head.

Jace listened to the older male intently, nodding every so often. Hen's reasoning also made sense, but...

"But what do we get Yuri? Is that a flower place?" he asked, pointing she's of thm.

Dawn trolled a little and went to investigate, as Zap stayed on Jace's shoulder, sniffing the air.

"Yes, there are white roses and I think she would really like them." Flynn really didn't know Doves favorite colors but it did sound like white would suit her.

At Jace's question though there was pause. Yuri wasn't much of a flower guy so he wasn't sure how to answer that, but it was a good question.

Instead Flynn looked ahead as the boy pointed. "It looks like it is." And so Flynn picked up the pace.

"Flowers also have different meanings," he told the children as they closed in on the shop.

"I think he likes blue? 'Cuz his pokémon kind of... seem blue. I guess maybe not though. Are there blue roses?"
Henrietta blinked; flowers had meanings? Was it like pokémon? Some of those 'had meanings'; Ho-oh was her best example of such.
"How do flowers have meanings?"

"Yeah, I mean, Repede is blue..." Jace mused aloud, following Flynn to the flower shop. The man's explanation that flowers had meanings, though, caught him a little offguard, and he ran a little to catch up to the blond, eagerly awaiting an answer to Henriettta's question.

Dawn fluttered down to the awning of the little flower shop, trilled happily at her new boy, then hopped down to his shoulder, fluffing her wings against his cheek.

Stepping inside, the boy's eyes widened. There were so many different kinds..!

As they stepped into the store and started to look around, Flynn tried to answer their questions.

"Well it's said that flowers have a language of their own. Each kind means something different, like roses usually symbolize love. Then the color of the flower has a meaning too, or even the number of them."

"That's right," said a young woman who suddenly appeared behind the counter. "Looking for something for someone special?"

Henrietta frowned a little.
This was gonna be tricky, then. Maybe they should get a whole bunch and send a message!
Yes, that sounded good!
"We wanna send a message with 'em and tell someone to get well soon and that we thought about him, and we want some to tell someone else that we're very thankful for them -and- to feel happier!"

Jace looked over at the flower lady. "Yeah! What she said! " he told her, in reference to Henrietta's explanatuon. His eyes wandered a little, and he wondered what the rest of the flowers meant, though of course, he guessed the meanings didn't really mean so much... They couldn't have bad meanings anyway, since they were flowers, right?

"Hmmm, well if you're looking for meaning, roses would be the best choice and most people like them anyway, especially girls. Yellow roses mean friendship and pink can express gratitude. Green is for wishing a return to good health. And if you're not sure what to say a mixture will do."

Flynn idly looked around while the florist spoke, looking at the beautiful arrangements around them.

"Yeah! We wanna mixture then! Cuz we wanna tell them -both- that they're our friends and we wanna say thank you to them both, but only one of them is, um, injured... But one of them is kinda sad, so is that the same kinda thing for 'getting better'? We wanna get something for making our friends happy..." Henrietta offered, with a very thoughtful frown.

Bistra was watching Jace curiously from atop Hen's head, while Gummy, at some point, had decided to go and sit beside, and under, one of the leafier arrangements. After a moment, one of the leaves disappeared into his jaws.

As Henrietta spoke, Jace stayed quiet, letting her explain things for them both. After a few minutes, though, he turned around, then wandered off to look at the flowers himself. Dawn flew in through the door and followed the boy, chirping happily to Bistra. They were excellent at watching their new humans.

Finding a large selection of roses, he looked back at his friends, extending an elbow so Zap could get closer to the flowers to sniff them curiously. "What about these ones?"

The lady smiled at Henrietta, "There are some mixed bouquets right over there. Pick out whatever you like."

Jace already seemed to be heading in the direction, and Flynn followed. Several arrangements and groups of roses sat in refrigerators and in water. Thus there they could pick from something already put together or make something themselves.

"They all look nice," Flynn replied, reaching out to look at the price tag of one such arrangement. There was a slight grimace as he noted they were quite expensive too. "These will be from you after all, so pick whatever you think will be best."
