☈I don't like walking around this old and empty house. ⇝So hold my hand, I'll walk with you, my dear. ⇝The stairs creak as you sleep, it's keeping me awake. ⇝It's the house telling you to close your eyes. •●◢Jonah Crawford◣●• the|screams|all|sound|the|same Jonah followed her to the window to look for himself. Sure enough, the cars were gone. "They wouldn't.... Terry wouldn't! I'm sure Emily wouldn't have left you either... Maybe they just moved them. C'mon! Let's go look. They have to be out there somewhere..." He watched as she went and sat on the dusty couch, looking distraught. Jonah followed.
He knelt down in front of her. "If they're not out there, what do you want to do? Stay put and wait and see? Or see if we can walk out of here?" He asked. He wasn't too keen on spending another night here, but if that's what Lightning wanted, he wasn't going to leave her here alone. Besides, they could probably handle it. The children running around seemed to have disappeared entirely for now.
Honestly, Jonah was mare worried about food right now than the ghosts. If they were stuck here, they'd need some kind of food and water. If they could reach a gas station or convenience store, that would be ideal, but if they couldn't.... What would they do? His stomach let out a loud grumbling sound and he gave Lightning an embarrassed smile. You're gone, gone, gone away,⇚ I watched you disappear.⇜ All that's left is the ghost of you.⇜

Lightning looked at Jonah as he was knelt down in front of her. She pursed her lips as she pondered about what she really wanted to do. Lightning highly doubted that they had moved them, there was no other place to put cars! What made it weird was that if they left...they would have heard the engines of the cars. Lightning was a light sleeper, and she definitely would have caught their attention before they drove off.
A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she nodded. "Let's try walking. Hopefully we can come across a gas station and get help." she gave Jonah a smile to reassure him that she was okay. He increasingly became protective of her through the short time they have spent together. She stood up elegantly, going to pick up their stuff from the makeshift bed. She slung her backpack on her shoulder and tossed Jonah his belongings as well. She then proceeded to skip towards him before holding onto Jonah's sleeve again and tugging him towards the door.
As Lightning pulled Jonah along with her to the outside, the weather looked gloomy. "I hope it doesn't rain..." she mumbled under her breath as her grey orbs looked up the to dim sky. If they got caught in the rain, they could get sick depending on if there was something to take cover under or if they could find a gas station or convenience store in time. She cursed herself for not bringing an umbrella. But she did think that she'd be at Emily's or home by now, not stuck by some decaying house and being forced to walk for god knows how long and how far.

He let her drag him along out the door. Grey clouds hung over them, and the air was a bit chillier than it had been the day before. He looked up, squinting at the sky, and nodded. "Especially since my only change of clothes was in Terry's car still."
They reached the gate again, climbing through the fence hole once more. Jonah looked back at the house at they walked forward. Standing in the doorway was the doll-like girl from the other photo, the really creepy one. He shivered slightly, chills going down his spine. That couldn't be good. He was glad they were leaving, no matter how far the walk was. He didn't want to be stuck there with whatever that girl was.
Jonah glanced at Lightning to make sure she was still looking forward. He made the decision not to tell her he had just seen the other girl. She didn't need to think about that being behind them, especially when they hopefully wouldn't be going back. He wondered what would happen when they did get back to the real world. Would they just forget about each other and go back to passing each other by in the halls? Would they keep in touch? Stay friends, even?
It would be strange to go back and never speak to each other again, and to be honest, he kind of hoped they would keep in touch. Lightning seemed like the kind of girl he would want to hang out with. And he had to admit it would be nice to have her around to invite to things so that he wouldn't get stuck with the cheer leaders. "I wonder if anyone notices we're all missing." He said, suddenly thinking about it. You're gone, gone, gone away,⇚ I watched you disappear.⇜ All that's left is the ghost of you.⇜

Lightning let go of Jonah's sleeve as she crawled through the opening of the gate of the house. It was faded black metal that was extremely rusted. When she looked back at the house, she didn't see the girl that Jonah had. The driveway was completely bare. Lightning was relieved to finally leave this house. Hopefully when they get back to their homes that Emily will be there waiting for her.
She started walking down the pavement, Jonah beside her, when asked the question she hadn't thought of till he had mentioned it. "Probably not, I mean, high school kids going off together? It's not uncommon and our parents probably just think we slept over our friend's house and will be there for awhile." Lightning shrugged as she continued to walk. She couldn't see anything in the distance. It was foggy and there were no shadows of anything. Maybe after a bit of traveling they'll start finding landmarks and such.
Lightning looked at Jonah with a smile before asking shyly, "Are you gonna forget about me when we get to our regular lives? I wouldn't blame you if you did." she shrugged with a sad smile on her face. She still wanted to see him even after this. He was a cool guy to be around, and it also proved that Lightning could be friends with guys that weren't gothic or emo. The girl toyed with her bangs as she continued to walk down a path that seemed to go on forever.

" You're right, I guess I can disappear to Terry's for days at a time... Maybe one of the other guys' parents will get in touch if they don't make it home and when none of them can figure out where we are they'll send someone after us." He said hopefully, trying to come up with some kind of plan B as they walked.
He looked forward, trying to squint through the fog, but it was no use. It was too thick. In fact, it seemed to be thickening more and more the further they went. Jonah gave up trying to see through, sighing.
He looked up at Lightning when she shyly asked if he was going to forget about her. Jonah grinned. "After all the ghosts we've been fighting off together? I don't think so." He laughed, talking as though they were some kind of great superheroes. "Besides, I think it would be kinda nice to have you around to invite to Terry's stupid parties so I don't have to be stuck hanging out with the cheer leaders." He rolled his eyes, like it was the most dreadful thing he could imagine. Even worse than the freaky ghosts and walking through the thick, chilly fog to get to Lord only knows where. "Do you plan on forgetting about me?" Jonah asked back, his tone teasing, like he would be upset if she gave him any other answer now. Lightning playfully punched Jonah in the arm. "I couldn't forget you. I'd be happy to hang out with you at Terry's get togethers." she told him happily as she continued to walk. The fog that they had been traveling through continued to get thicker and she couldn't see any sign of civilization. They've been walking straight this whole time, there's no way that they had gotten lost and she clearly remembered passing a few gas stations yesterday when Emily drove them here.
Lightning soon spotted some kind of building in the near distance, which made her squeal. "Has God finally blessed us!?" Lightning threw her arms up in the air before quickly dashing off towards the mysterious building, signaling Jonah to follow her. But as soon as the building came into sight, it was the house that they had left.
The girl was devastated. How could they have ended up back at this dumb house. She looked back at Jonah with a large frown on her face as she stuttered out nonsense, "B-but we...how'd we...there's t-the..." Lightning had a panicked look on her face as she kept looking back at Jonah then the house then back at Jonah. This was not possible. There was no way that they had just walked in a circle.

"Oh, thank God. They're going to be SO much more bearable now." He said, a grin plastered on his face. He had almost forgotten about the thick fog surrounding them on all sides during the conversation, until Lightning made an exclamation and went running for what must have been a gas station or something.
Jonah looked up, his gaze landing on the shape of a building, barely visible in the fog. He smiled and hurried his pace to catch up to Lightning, but slowed down again when he saw her stop dead in her tracks. She gave him a devastated and shocked look. Finally, Jonah came up next to her to see what all of the fuss was about as she began to stutter profusely.
His jaw dropped when he looked up and saw the house they had left earlier that morning now in front of them once again. "But... We've been walking for so long... We didn't even make any turns! I swear we were going straight the whole time... I don't remember the road curving at all when we came in!" Jonah began to ramble, the frustration clear in his voice. Then he let out a groan, thinking about the girl that had stood at the front door, watching them leave. The doll-like one that looked like Lightning. Did this have something to do with her? Had she made their friends disappear too?
With this most recent development, Jonah couldn't help but wonder if maybe their friends hadn't been the ones to disappear. Maybe he and Lightning had been, pulled into the doll-girl's crazy world. Were their friends looking for them somewhere too? You're gone, gone, gone away,⇚ I watched you disappear.⇜ All that's left is the ghost of you.⇜

Lightning tugged on her hair, still unable to speak real words. She looked at the house that they had just walked miles away from, and it was there again. There was no way in hell that they went in a circle. This wasn't even part of a cul-de-sac.
Lightning took took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She swiftly took out her pack of cigarettes and lighter, using them to help soothe her. With cigarette smoke now around them, Lightning spoke in a joking sort of way to lighten the mood a bit, "Oh dear, I believe we've got ourselves in a bit of a mess." She took a deep inhale from her cigarette before exhaling a large cloud of second hand smoke for Jonah. He was going to have to get used to it if he was gonna be stuck with her. And luckily, she had an extra two packs when this one ran out, which will be soon.
Lightning pieced together everything that was happening. So, their friends were missing along with the cars, they walked forever to just end up back at the house and there were ghosts running about trying to scare the sh*t out of them. What a great series of unfortunate events. (lol puns) "Well, what do we do now? Walking didn't work." she kicked the metal gate that stood in front of them that guarded the entrance to the house. This stupid house was ruining her wonderful October. And if they missed Halloween she was going to be pissed.

He raised an eyebrow at her as she blew out her smoke and continued to address the situation. Jonah was at a complete loss. He hadn't anticipated something of this magnitude, whether actual ghosts were involved or not. He walked forward as Lightning kicked the gate, and peeked through it. "I have no idea..." He answered, lamely. Normally he tried to be the "have all the answers" kind of guy, ready with a solution to any problem. But this? This was just ridiculous.
He turned to look back at Lightning, remembering the cemetery out back. "I guess... We try to figure out what's going on? I think that's all we can do, at this point..." He said, gesturing back towards the opening in the fence. He slipped back through, heading back across the lawn without waiting to see if Lightning was following. Maybe it was some kind of crazy mystery they had to solve. Lightning watched as Jonah went through the gate, a heavy sigh escaping her chapped lips. She kicked the gate once more, harder this time, before following Jonah through, back towards the house. "Maybe I will get a ghost boyfriend..." she mumbled, wondering if maybe she would meet a cute ghost boy that didn't want to murder her that was stuck in the house.
She pointed towards the, used to be white, picket fence that separated the backyard from the front of the house. "That way, we'll get to the cemetery faster, Jonah." she told him as she motioned him to follow her now. She kicked the lock on the gate, breaking it and making it fall off. Luckily it was rusted and extremely old, so just that kick was enough. For some reason, she wanted to kick everything that was apart of this house. It was probably because she was pissed off that they walked all that time to just end up back in the same spot they were in before. Plus she was getting tired, thus making her irritable. Hopefully Jonah wouldn't mind dealing with that. He was a great guy, she had to admit. Everything about him was, so far, amazing. And she did agree that he was extremely cute. She wouldn't mind if he held her again tonight as well...

He chuckled a little at the thought. "Maybe I'll just date the creepy doll-girl, then. Think she'd take me as a sacrifice?" He responded, laughing a little harder at himself and wondering if he was a little bit delusional for it.
Jonah stood back as Lightning seemed to take all of her frustrations out on the poor lock that stood between them and the backyard. He let out an impressed whistle at the stunt, even though the lock was already pretty rusted. He had to admit he found the move pretty attractive. Really, if he was being honest with himself, he thought Lightning was pretty attractive in general. Both her appearance, and her personality. Well, what he'd seen of it so far.
After she broke the lock, They continued on further into the yard, towards the little cemetery that looked like a fenced-in area of overgrown grass and rock from where they were. Jonah had seen no sign of the ghosts since they had arrived back at the starting point, but he was sure the longer they wandered the more active the beings would become. Lightning looked back at Jonah with a smirk and gave him a flirtatious wink. "Just date me. I'm alive and won't try to kill you...yet." Lightning cooed mischievously with a snicker after. She actually wouldn't mind dating Jonah, it wouldn't be a bad relationship. But she didn't think she would be a good girlfriend. Sure, she was hot. Like, really hot. But her personality was sort of boring and shut in. What guy wants that? Not normal ones. Only the emos do.
Continuing on through the backyard, Lightning observed the overgrown nature around them that covered the sides of the house, the gates and the patio along with its furniture. Pretty~" she chirped with a smile on her face as she continued on, her combat boots crushing the tall grass and large weeds beneath them. Wandering on towards the graves, she observed the engravings in them. They were so old that it was hard to make out the dates, the names too, but it seemed that they died in order. "It looks like, the twins died first. Then the mother, then the father..." Lightning trailed off as she looked for another grave of the creepy doll girl that looked like her. It was no where to be seen. "Well, I think we know who the murderer is, Watson." Lightning concluded as she exhaled smoke and held the cigarette in between her middle and index finger. She flashed Jonah a confident smirk and chuckled a bit. Next place they should go is the library and maybe look to see if the father had an office so they could maybe look through work records or something.

"I'll tell you what. When we get out of here, I'm all yours. ... As long as you don't kill me before that." He replied just as mischievously, giving her a wink and turning back around, wondering whether that was too much or not.
As they continued, Lightning seemed to be enjoying the outer decor of the house. He couldn't help but smile a little bit, thinking it was cute.
Finally, they made it to the graves, and Lightning pointed out the order of the deaths. "Why am I Watson?" He asked, ignoring the discovery and giving her a pouty face. Then he sighed, giving up on the argument before it started. "Nevermind... But I do agree, I think it's pretty obvious.... But why..?" He trailed off, thinking about it. Was she unhappy? Jealous? Did someone in the family do something to make her angry, or hurt her? Jonah stood, staring at the graves, as though one of them might sprout a mouth, or the skeleton of one of the family members might pop up and answer all of his questions. And if she was really honest with herself, that idea was a great one. She shook off those thoughts, deciding to deal with them later when the time was right.
As she tried to piece together what the motivation could have been she sort of tied in her own past. "Well everyone in the family seemed happy except her. Maybe...she was shunned. She couldn't stand the happiness of her family and their ways. Maybe she was crazy and worshipped Satan or something. And because her family was of high status or what looked like high status, she was tired of them decided to use them as sacrifices." Lightning suggested as she dropped the cigarette to the ground and stomped on it. It was a cliche of a motif. It was practically one of those paranormal horror movies that are always said to be based on a true story. She looked to her side at Jonah and shrugged. "Just a guess though. He listened as she tried to explain her idea of what could have happened to the family. It was a pretty dark idea, but Jonah had to admit, it fit well. He nodded in agreement to checking out the study and looking for some kind of record. "We should look for the older girl's room too. I know we saw what must have belonged to the twins, but she had to have stayed somewhere too, right?" He said, thinking if this girl really was a Satan worshiper like Lightning suggested, maybe there would be some evidence of her practices. "Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll find her creepy alter or something." He added, wiggling his eyebrows as he stuffed his hands into his pockets and turned to head back towards the back of the house.
As he began to walk, his stomach rumbled. Jonah let out a groan. "Man, I really wish we could find some food... We're gonna starve in here before we ever figure this thing out..." He grouched. He was an athletic kid. He wasn't used to go this long without substantial meals. You're gone, gone, gone away,⇚ I watched you disappear.⇜ All that's left is the ghost of you.⇜
