Prism? Yes, he knew what happened... wait. Rainbows. Admirers? Mau slowly hid his face in his hand and sighed. "I... get the picture." Homosexuality wasn't something he was particularly used to. His closest encounter with anything of the sort was Nyx's fascination and crush on Nadja. He hoped both were doing well. "I would... prefer somewhere a little less... er... specialized, if that's alright with you." Wow, he hadn't been this embarrassed in a long time.

KO gave a brief chuckle at the use of the word 'specialised' but acquiesced with a nod. "Well lead on then, I must admit I seldom frequent non specialised establishments. They're not always too friendly, but I'm sure I can count on you to defend my honour should it become necessary?" In truth he could look after himself perfectly well but that didn't mean he liked doing it, there was always the chance of having your noise broken not to mention the possibility of getting blood on your clothes; much better to allow a big strong man to do it for you if there was a willing one around.

"Honor?" He gave KO sidelong glance at the use of the word. He was slowly recovering his composure, and eventually gave in and looked up bars in the area. "Telling you know, I don't know what we're getting into because I don't come out drinking much. But this place is ranked pretty high by online users..." He looked at his phone for a moment before they set out to the bar.

It was a well lit place, and seemed to be pretty lively. There were a good number of people inside. The decor was fairly standard bar-trying-to-be-upscale. At least it didn't smell like sawdust and vomit. "This ok?"

"Face," KO clarified with a smile and a vague gesture towards said face, "protect my face. Humm, but I'm prepared to trust the general public in this instance and presume this isn't the sort of place where that sort of thing happens." Camphoreon was pretty cosmopolitan anyway, he'd never had any trouble worth speaking of i.e. any physical trouble.

Once inside KO looked around at the décor and client and made a small noise of mild approval. "Well it seems alright," he agreed with a nod. "Now, seen as you bought me lunch shall I buy the first round? What's your poison?"

omg sorry! Holiday season ate me alive. Sorry sorry sorry!

"Alright, I'll help you save face." He said with a sly grin. He knew that wasn't what KO said, but that was how he spun it. As they wandered in, Mau looked at the drinks they offered. He wasn't really a hard liquor kind of guy, but at the same time, sticking just to wines seemed a little boring. "I guess if you insist on buying, the Island Sunset looks pretty good. Can't say I've had it before. Or whatever the house special is." He shrugged. "I'm easy."

=D No worries!

"Oh?" KO smirked and arched an eyebrow. "You're easy are you? You should have said so earlier! Being easy can leads to all kinds of fun, and Island Sunset it is then; don't go anywhere now!"

KO headed up to the bar and swiftly procured two Island Sunsets before returning to Mau and handing one over. Raising his own glass, and one of his eyebrows he said; "To successful shopping and new friends then, humm?"

Mau sighed and shook his head. KO was pretty strange. A good strange, but still strange. "Where would I go?" He laughed as KO went to get the drinks. He waited for the man to return with the drinks and took his.

"Thanks." He lifted his glass. "I'll drink to that." He'd also drink to a possible partnership, a day off, a speck of dust would be good enough for a drink right now.

Sorry for the delay!

KO inclined his head with a small smirk to Mau's agreement and took a sip of his drink; it was pretty good actually, fruity and a little sweet but not overpoweringly so. "Sooo, shall we get a table?" KO suggested, indicating one and drifting towards it even as he spoke. Perching up on one of the high padded stools he took another sip before asking; "So you don't come out drinking often, what do you do with your free time? Besides tending to your plants of course."

I am the last person to worry about a delay

Mau shrugged and followed KO to the table. He never cared for the really high bar stools. They always seemed like a bad idea. Drunk people sitting so high up? Then again, that could always be funny too...

"Free time? What's that?" He teased. "I read sometimes, and I also practice Kuta and Tahtib." He took another sip of his drink before elaborating. "Kuta is a form of fist fighting, like boxing, and Tahtib is similar in many ways to Kendo or fencing. Both have similarities to modern martial arts though. What about you?"

"Oh?" KO's brows rose a little and he nodded along with Mau's description. "Sounds useful, I do a little mixed martial arts myself; I prefer to avoid close confrontation but if it can't be avoided then it pays to be competent." The incompetent could end up dead, captured, or with their face rearranged and he didn't want any of those things to happen to him. "I can't say that takes up very much of my time though, I spend a lot of it just socialising or on tailoring projects of course. Oh, and training of course," KO snorted and shook his head, "it seems one has to have a decent team if one wishes to get anywhere, even if it has nothing to do with your speciality. Still, useful for when you're out and about; you never know what dangers lurk." From what he knew of big missions, those who went in ill prepared came out badly and even those who were prepared often suffered. Ugh, if only it weren't necessary to do such things to get yourself noticed!

If you don't mind, in my next post, I can have the hoodlums start some trouble.

"You sound impressed. I pride myself at being good with my hands." He said with a grin. "Perhaps we should have a friendly sparring match some time." He rarely got to spar against someone. "But I know what you mean. Between work and training a team, one has little time for personal pursuits, right?"

He took a sip of his drink as he thought about his team. He trained with them often, but he did tend to favor Aki and Ran over the rest of his team. Though Ire and Nuu were fairly competent. Then there were his pokemon like Uta, Aya, and Shu... Maybe he really needed to work with them more. Ten would never be a battler, and until he could control what the damn thing recited, he didn't know how often he'd let him out in public. "Well, having a team that can get the job done is part of the business. Don't sound so down about it."

XD Sure thing!

Impressed?... Impressed was a strong word, interested though yes. Still, it didn't hurt to let somebody think they impressed you. "Well perhaps a little impressed," KO said aloud with a suggestive little smirk, giving away nothing of his actual thoughts in his expression, "and I bet you're good with your hands. I don't know how much of a sparring partner you'll find in my, it might be a bit dull for you, but there are more advanced people at the classes I attend who you might have more fun wrestling with." And he wouldn't mind watching!

"Oh and I'm certainly not down," he continued with a chuckle, tilting his drink slightly at Mau, "I'm merely aware of reality. I make time to improve myself, and my pokemon, even if it's a slow process I have every confidence we'll get there in the end." Waiting was hard though, he really was sick and tired of having to share a room! Lu was a sweet kid but that didn't mean he enjoyed living in a small box with him all the time.

If you want, you can make the hoodlums do whatever you like as well. Ambiguously sized group to suit our needs.

He wasn't quite convinced that KO really was impressed, but he would take the ego stroking. "Hm. I didn't say I was looking for an interesting fight. Just a way to see how good you are." But if KO didn't want to spar, he wouldn't make him. He liked the grunt so far. He was easy to talk to and they had at least a few things in common.

He gave his drink a little swirl as a group of men entered the bar rather loudly. He glanced up at them, but paid them no other attention. "Ah, you just sounded a little put out by the situation. My apologies if I offended you." Actually, the group that had just come in were already being quite loud.

"Weeeeo~ This place looks mighty fancy!" One of them shouted. Oh great. Were they bar hopping? It was still so early in the evening!

XD I couldn't really think of anything I'm afraid

"Oh, no, not at all," KO replied with a shake of his head and a small fluid gesture with his free hand. "I certainly am a little put out but I'm working to improve matters, that doesn't mean I shan't complain about it in the interim!"

Oh and look, drunks. What was it, a stag do? There were few excuses he could think of for being that drunk this early.

KO rolled his eyes at Mau and inclined his head at the crowd. "It seems some of the local wildlife has got in. I hope they're house-trained." Oh well, at least one of them was pretty; KO turned slightly in his seat to give the tanned, silver-haired individual another look up and down. He was even quite well dressed - not as well dressed as KO was himself of course - it was just a pity that he seemed to have all the actual personal charm of a Grimer. Some people just shouldn't drink, or who knew? Perhaps he was always an obnoxious idiot.

That's ok!

Mau very nearly did a spit-take when KO called the new arrivals wild life. He smirked. "Kirk..." his voice was gently teasing. But it wasn't totally untrue he supposed. He gave Kirk a sidelong glance before turning to look at whom the redhead was staring at.

"Oy, gimme a round for me and my bros!" A man with a tacky hat called. The better dressed of the small group grinned before noticing KO was staring at him.

"Tch, whatchuu staring at? Eh?" He demanded. Oh yes, they were quite drunk.
