BlackFireKitsune [Jetty, with Whittard]
If Alice minded his stoicism, she gave no indication, and merely continued to happily take pictures of the various parts of the island she could see from there. She'd take more at different spots later on. "Ohh, I see," she said, her tone thoughtful. So this wasn't a yearly thing... Which meant she probably wouldn't see such an advert next year; knowing that made her even more glad she'd decided to come today, even if it was incredibly early and cold. "Have you been here before?" He probably had, but it didn't hurt to ask!
Whittard seemed to move with a deliberate slowness; finishing his beard-scratch, taking his pipe from his mouth to tap it against the rails of the boat. Finally, without turning his head, he answered Alice. "Live 'ere."

Deep Water Coves KEEPING THE DRATINI
HOLY ******** ARCEUS THE WATER WAS COLD! Citrine started trying to climb out of the pool, with no help from Nornsteen. The ghost was laughing at her and eating the pokefood she had! Citrine glared at the pokemon before she felt something under her feet. She froze a moment before realizing whatever it was, it was pushing her up. She climbed out of the pool and looked back at what had helped her. The big round eyes that greeted her made Citrine's own eyes widen. "Oh wow..." She reached out and touched the Dratini. "Thank you." It rubbed against her hand, and Citrine smiled. She was about to offer it food when she started shivering. This was no good. She hadn't brought Applejack with her today because she didn't know how the horse would like a watery island. Citrine looked at her backpack, sitting nice and dry beside the pools and the fishing rod. She opened it up, forgetting about the Dratini a moment as she looked for Betty's pokeball... And did she have a towel? No... She had some extra clothes.... but there were people around. She couldn't change! "ARGH!" She'd have to go back to the rest area and change. She sighed and looked at the dratini. It was still looking at her. "You wanna come with me?" The pokemon stared at her. "Well, alright. Let's try this." She picked up a pokeball and tossed it towards the little dragon. It bounced on the pokemon's snout, and the dragon vanished inside. "Oh crap!" Citrine's hand snapped out to grab the ball before it fell into the water. It clicked, signalling she'd caught the dragon.
"Yay! ... Now I need to get the hell out of here." She recalled Nornsteen and gathered up her things before calling out Betty, her mamoswine. She buried her face into the warm fur on her side. "Aaaaah, it's cold. Let's go to the beach." She said to the pokemon before kind of climbing into her fur and letting the pokemon walk them back to the beach. Betty had to take the long way around because she couldn't do the steep path back up to the cliffs, and she would probably break the stairs.
Beach/Izumi
After they had rounded the cliffs, Betty was walking along the beach, heading towards the ship and buildings so her trainer could dry off. At least this side of the island was warmer. Citrine looked up and saw someone walking along the beach.

BlackFireKitsune [Jetty, with Whittard]
"Wh-- You live here?" She asked, momentarily distracted from taking pictures to look over at the grizzled old captain with eyes wide and brows raised. He lived here? Here? That was... That sounded... So... "Do you really? I bet it's wonderfully peaceful here," she said as she turned to take pictures of the horizon, wondering if maybe she could get a bit of Kodo in the shots. "An island all to yourself... Do you spend time with all the pokemon on the island, then, or do they come and go every so often?" Living alone on an island... Especially this island, it seemed so cold and lonely... But if he was friends with the pokemon on the island, that made it all the better. Not to mention his boat he could take to and from Kodo whenever he wanted... It wasn't a life she would enjoy living, but maybe as a vacation for a few days... That sounded lovely.
The captain frowned as Alice seemingly asked for confirmation, and then followed up with a bunch of other questions. His frown, indeed his whole demeanor, seemed to soften just slightly when she asked about the pokémon- something in that question got a short nod- but everything she said received just the one grumbled answer. "Aye."
