As protestors under a genjutsu are attacking a company, Shikadai has a hunch of where the Byakuya gang was going to strike. He was right and he continues to follow the gang until he catches up with Ryogi and Ryogi's boss. Now Boruto and Shikadai must face these two alone. Can they succeed?

Boruto and Shikadai stop Ryogi from getting away, but it was Naruto to stop the big bad boss from getting away. Life was getting back to normal for our two heroes and Boruto just had to bring up the deal that he made with Shikadai to make things a little more interesting.

Metal, Iwabe, and Denki fresh off of their suspension gets a mission from Naruto where they have to make a documentary to encourage more genin for the chunin exams. They learn an important lesson on being ninjas.

Team 15 had to find and capture some park animals that escaped thanks to a golden monkey. They succeeded when they worked together.

The teachers all discuss the chunin exams and if their students are qualified. A round of drinking sends Shino's insects out of control.

Naruto misses Boruto's birthday and pisses Boruto off because he feels like Naruto will miss Boruto's kid sister's birthday as well. Then, in a mine, Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, and Konohamaru find a white zetsu.

By working together, Konohamaru, Boruto, Mitsuki, and Sarada was able to take down a giant white zetsu. A clone of Naruto arrives on the scene after the battle and claims that the grown ups have to handle this from now on. Boruto doesn't like that idea, though he knows that he doesn't have enough power or skills to do what is needed to defeat this new enemy alone.

It was Boruto's kid sister's birthday and all Naruto could do was send a shadow clone, which made Boruto angry. Sasuke shows up and Boruto realiizes that Sasuke was the man whom he should take after not Naruto.

Boruto asks Sasuke to be his student and after learning the rasengan and then cheating, he becomes Sasuke's student

Everyone submits their chunin exam entries and then finishes prepping for it. Boruto plans to cheat.

In round 1 of the exams, there was no room for cheating, but Boruto did pass.

Boruto's team passes round 2 of the exams, except that Boruto cheats and uses tech to pass. Nobody caught him though.

Round 3 are one on one bouts tournament style. Boruto won his first match. Inojin lost. Chouchou is up.

Boruto wins against Shikadai. Chouchou loses against Shinki. But, the cheating that Boruto is doing is making him feel guilty.

Sarada beat her Sand opponent, but Mitsuki lost against his. So, in the finals are Boruto, Sarada, and Shinki.
