Lock The Cards

I didn't bother to read it, because I have one definite opinion. No. The government should not legalize gay marriage. Why is that? Marriage is religious, pure and simple. "Separation of church and state" is nothing more than a sentence. It no longer means anything. Marriage isn't something that needs to be in the supreme court in the first place. That needs to stay in the Vatican.

Technically, marriage is something I'm against. It's the embodiment of monogamy, which is the denial of our very genetics. Of course, the way we are, our genes are best ignored right now, lest we further over-populate the world. Of course, gays are against our genetics, too. I really don't care about that, because it still has some genetics wired into us.

"What do you mean, Lock?" the children ask with wide eyes!

Humans are very special, in that we have sex for pleasure. Our genes tell us to. Genes are the realistic equivalent of god, children. See, humans were made for the same reason every other species was made: to procreate. In giving us sentience, sweet nature also had to make sure we didn't stop fscking like minks because we were lazy. And thus pleasure sex was born. Of course, I'm getting very off topic. Another speech, for another day.

Anyway, America needs to stop infringing on our "free" religion, "free" speech, and "free"doms in general. In guaranteeing these, they mean to tell us that we have them. Not that we can have them until they're tired of letting us. The government needs to stay in it's place, and let religion control itself. Have you not noticed, children, that religion has a heavy influence on politics?

"Yes!" The children replied, wide eyes with curiosity.

It is because we are so heavy dependent on religion, as a society, that we begin to make other decisions wearing the drunk-goggles of god. Presidents are elected on religious platforms. Bills are passed with religious motivations. Every single government-member given speech has religion, even in the most minute form. Religion has throttled our government, and usurped it.

So, no. No, I don't think the government should legalize gay marriage.

Well, I know that you can't help it, but I'm not too crazy for super-gay people. Ya know, the stuff stereotypes are made from? *raises hand* sweatdrop bi....

I think that everyone--straights, gays, Bush, etc.-- are looking at only one definition of homosexuality that is used.

The people who say it is a choice are those who are meaning the actions associated with the attraction.

The people who say it is not a choice are those who are meaning that homosexuals do not choose to like people of the same sex, just as I don't choose to like females. We naturally like a specific sex, so there is no choice here.

Bush definitely sees homosexuality as a choice of action, and I'm betting he sees it as a choice of what sex to like, too. Only the first is a tenable position.

I am definitely approving of homosexuality. I think it's perfectly fine. In fact, I think it's great. I mean, if you love someone, what should it matter what sex they are? Your love is just as pure.

Plus, there's the fact that I, a straight female, have a thing for gay guys. I'm not trying to be offensive or whatnot, but it's just a fact. I love them. They're so...refined.

Christians discriminating against gay people is just like whites discriminating against blacks, or men discriminating against women. I think we'll eventually manage to work through our prejudices. We've done it before, hopefully this won't be any different.

Okay, so since you're all atheists, I was wondering what you think of homosexuality. Most of the discrimination against gays comes from the Bible, with all of the "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" crud, and about how being gay is 'morally wrong'.

Since you don't believe in god(s) and thus the Bible is not a 'sacred' document to you, what do you think about gays? What do you think about the general Christian opinion of gays?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. It really helps. 3nodding

I don't mind the homosexuals at all...

I am perfectly fine with homosexuals and treat them just as I would anyone else. The only time I have ever had a problem was with an unwanted advance, but I would have the same problem if it was a girl that did that. Marriage is not a religious thing, it is also a legal thing. Only through marriage can benefits like insurance and the ability to visit in hospitals be obtained. Let people do whatever it is they do in their bedroom. I don't care if you like to be tied down and have raw steaks rubbed on you. Just so long as you obey laws and follow rules just like everyone else. The bedroom has a door and walls for a reason, just keep the sex life and the rest of your life seperate, and view them seperately in others as well.

I've had so many debates about homosexuality with people. Gawd it gets annoying after a while.

Personally, I don't know anyone (irl) who's gay or bi (I think sweatdrop ). I see nothing wrong with loving someone who's the same sex as you. As The Mad Hattress said, "if you love someone, what should it matter what sex they are?" Personally I think all these religious right craptards can go screw themselves. <_< sorry for that.

While I personally don't have anything against them, I have to admit it still freaks me out a little. I'm no homophobe, mind you.

Not a problem at all. I couldn't care less who you fall in love with, but in certain cases one should be mature enough not to pursue sexual activity.

*cough*Pediophelia*cough*

Love is an emotion. Emotions are uncontrolled. You cannot decide who you love. Period.

I love gay people. They're just like everyone else, with the exception of their sexual preference. They haven't done anything to me personally, and I respect their choices/whatever you want to call it. I have absolutely no problem with gays or lesbians. As long as they know I'm not interested, I'm totally fine with it.

What gets me is that people say, "That's gay!" when something bad happens to them. WTF? I mean, seriously, if we want to reinforce something this stupid, why not say, "That's obese!" or something instead?

I just hate the "homo" bashing. scream

You know that, originally, "Gay" meant something joyful, right?

"We're having a gay time." = "We're having a good time." and other examples exist.
Even in some songs the word "gay" is used to substitute words such as "nice", "good", "joyful" and others.

^_^

Being bisexual, but with a strong preference towards girls (So kind of hetero-curious? xd ), I have no problem with girl-girl, guy-guy or girl-guy relationships. ^_^

Love = Love, right? heart

Ya know, girl-girl is only arrousing when it's live for me. A lot of guys love girl-girl action porn, but not me.

And now for the family tree of sexual preference. Mom=lesbian, brother in law=gay, roomate=gay, cat=asexual food consumer, and my right hand is a self attracted raging homosexual.

I personally am for gay rights, for a long time I just dident care about the whole gay situation(not in a bad way just as in no which way), but I go to a very religious school and i've been called a f*****t over 500 times(even though im not gay stressed ), in my freshman year I pretty much feel in love with a girl that was bi..at first I dident know she was, but when someone told me I was just like "..cool wink " Either way I believe homosexuals should have the same rights as everyone else and I really hate religous people that are against gays and/or believe being gay is a sin and your going to hell for it

Rawr, I'm so queer it's funny. Gays ftw. We need equal rights. Someone else's god has no right to interfere with what goes on between me and my hypothetical girlfriend. *is single*
