Alrighty then.
My friend, her name is Jordan, fed me this information.
I do not say whether it's right or wrong.
I'm just passing it along.
Emo:
1. Music genre
2.Emotional
3.Nerd that cuts
4.Stereotype
Scene:
1.Emo without the cutting
2.Emo look
3."Original"
4.Style

More food for thought from the half-crazed Ashes.

"emo" and "scene" are two entirely different things.
emo was a style of music and a small underground culture who, for the most
part, didn't have much of a style. later on came the vintage clothing, etc. but
it's not synonymous with the music. the genre seems to have all but died as of
late but continues to influence crappy mainstream bands.

scene i'm less educated on, but from my perspective... seems like some
strange offshoot of goth culture. the similarities are all there. i really have no
clue where it came from but it doesn't matter... clothing companies are all but
too happy to cash in off of this fad and it'll pass in time. just like everything
else.

ps. quit labeling yourselves. if you like the clothing, fine. the whole "i'm so
emo/scene/whatever" needs to stop.

I just wear whatever I want.
I am who I am.
But the clothes I wear is usually "scene"
I just like the clothes, is that a crime?
It's not like I claim to be scene..

Scene: A kid who's prominant at local 'scenes', or shows.
Basically it's a kid who goes to a lot of local shows, is fairly well known...
Of course, if you hang out with a lot of the same people, you're going to develope a similar style.
It just kind of spread.
Do you dress similarly to your friends, or completely different?
Think about it.
It has nothing to do with Goth rock.

well... i dress completely different. i'm constantly being bitched at for it but
my belief is you dress the way you want to. not the way other people want
you to. who cares what's in style? for me, it's what's comfortable.

and if your definition were correct, it would totally negate the entire
"scene" stereotype seeing as all shows (and people who go to them) are different.
or is that what you were going for?
