"Good heavens, what did you do to yourself?" Mir cried, leaping up from her chair and hurrying around the counter to investigate. She took his arm gently and examined the wound, trying to figure out how serious it was.

*Pein laughed a bit and scratched the back of his head*

Ah well you see, I was training a bit with Jutsu and stuff and decided to make a new one..............and it kinda blew up in face! OH! And I was attacked for a bit after that........I still have some money left over, so I can pay for the stuff, I think sweatdrop
"No, no, no... There will be no payment necessary for patching you up, dear. Let me just..." She went to the front door and closed it, turning the key and hanging out the sign [Come knock on the infirmary window please!] so customers would know where to find her. Hurrying back to him, she went past, beckoning him through the shelves toward the infirmary in the back. "Come on. I've all my medicines and materials in the back."

Wow, a free fix up, I've never been given free stuff before! Thank you so much! *He said grinning cheerfully* Hey! Is there anywhere I can go like train and stuff? And I might need some weapons too! How much is it for knives and throwing stars?
Bustling around the room, digging through cabinets and considering bundles of herbs, the red-haired woman gestured for him to sit on the nearest bed. "You're very welcome, dear. There's a training grounds just out of town on the edge of the field - allows for some good targets without endangering the kits for the most part. A set of 3 kunai (throwing daggers) is five silver, the stars, in sets of two, are ten silver - harder to cast and sharpen, you see. We've also got whetstones to sharpen those with for twenty copper."

"Wow, Its really starting to liven up around here..." Reynard said as he finished his knot with the bandits.
"There, that otta' hold you two for a while... I'll be back with some hydrogen peroxide for that leg I shot. Or maybe I'll send out Finculmir and have her deal with you... did that sound mean? What ever, she's a big girl. Be right back."
Reynard stepped up onto the deck, his eye catching the sign. 'Come knock on the infirmary window please!'
I see...
He turned back and stepped into the road, he looked around and found the infirmary that was connected to the shop. He picked up a small rock and threw it at the window...
'Smash!'
Reynard let out an involuntary 'Oooooh!'
"Nice one..." Said the young bandit, which Reynard just realized that he didn't know his name.
"Shut up...! I didn't mean too...!" Reynard said, wincing as he looked back at the window.
Lets see, who can I pin this on...
Reynard looked around. His eye's falling onto the two bandits.
"Alright look... if anyone asks, you threw the rock. If you try and tell the truth, I'll deny it... after all, your bad guys... right?"
Quickly, he dashed back up the deck into through the doors.
He took about two running steps into the shop until his foot slipped out from under him! His arms waived franticly trying to catch balance but to no use... he crashed to the floor but not after catching his elbow on the store counter! He rolled over clutching his arm.
What the heck...!
He rolled into his belly and pushed himself up onto his knees and saw what he slipped in;
Blood?
Droplets of red blood covered the entryway floor, a trail of it leading around into the infirmary's doors. He grabbed the counter, frustrated with the throbbing in his elbow as he eased his way onto his feet.
He then hit the bell that rested on the counter, then again, then again...
Jeez, I hope the rest of my day isn't like this...
'Ding...! Ding...! Ding...!'

Mir jumped as the rock crashed through her window, barely containing a fairly potent curse. "What in the name of... I'm Finculmir, dear, Mir, really... And..." The bell in the shop started ringing fairly frantically. "For heaven's sake. The heating pot where she'd thrown various herbs to stew for a poultice hissed softly with escaping steam. "Watch this pot. When it starts boiling, take it off the heat and drain the water off into this sink. Use this spoon to put two lumps of about this size into one of these packets of gauze. Fold it over and press it to the wound. It'll be hot, but the juices will help cleanse it. I'll be right back." She indicated each instrument as she mentioned it, and then darted out into the shop.

"What in the WORLD? Was the sign not CLEAR enough for-?" She cut off her angry tirade abruptly at the sight of the smeared blood and the frustrated Reynard. "Ah. I see you've discovered why precisely I put up the sign. Did you hurt yourself?" She strove to keep the tartness out of her voice by keeping it brisk.

"Just my pride..." Reynard said as he rubbed his arm.
"I need a few things, do you mind if I check around and look for them?"
Finclmir nodded.
"Thank you, I'll stack my items here on the counter and you can ring me up when I've got everything..."
He whipped his hands off on his pant legs while looking down at the floor.
I won't even ask...

Reynard turned from the counter, the pain in his shoulder already disappearing. The thugs outside should be fine while he got a few extra things for a building he passed on the way back into town. He figured it could possibly make an excellent home for the next few weeks...
Or possible months...
It didn't matter, at the rate he was killing them it should only take a few days. But something told him that things were not going to go quite as planned next time, perhaps that one thief would know something, anything that could lead him to the main guy; unlikely. There's no way that the boss would connect himself in anyway with a grunt...
Reynard turned down an isle that had various chemicals on its shelves; medical supplies, cleaning agents etc.
He removed some photo development soap that he would need for his camera and placed it into a basket he'd picked up at the front counter.
Two bottles of hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, four bottles of chloroform. The bottom shelf had a military role style canvas medical kit. He undid the leather straps and rolled it out to check it; plenty of syringes and small ready-to-go needles of morphine. He wrapped it up and placed it into the basket then moved on.
He gathered various other chemicals that Finclumir might raze an eyebrow too, but Reynard shouldn't care he was a paying customer after all...
He placed his items on the counter then went to the hardware and fished out a few pounds of small hex nuts, he placed them into a paper bag, weighed them, then marked the weight on the bag with a pencil.
With bag in basket, he turned to a shelf with gun cleaning solutions, he grabbed a few bottles of hobbies and about six or seven small tins of percussion caps that he would need(even though he didn't carry a revolver that used them). A few cotton swabs, a cleaning rod, brushes. The next isle held clean towels and bandages. He dropped gauze, bandages, medical wraps, a sewing kit and cotton pads into his basket.
He made a quick stop at the counter to empty his basket then headed for the back of the shop.
Man, this place is small but it sure has everything I need!?
Reynard removed two brick boxes (about fifty rounds each) of 7.65mm for the Luger, three boxes of .45 ACP for the colt, and two boxes of 7.62mm for the Mauser. There were .38 longs for the revolver too, but he didn't plan on using more then he already had for it.
He spent another hour collecting various home improvement items for the house he was going to work on; like paint, sand paper, nails. He figured he could barrow a hammer and a saw or other tools he might need from Sever.
The counter was quite full of his things, some were on the floor.
He rung the bell a second time as he got his wallet ready. When Finclumir came around from the back, Reynard said with a twisted smile.
"So, what do I owe you?" His orange eye's gleaming.

Sever had been watching Reynard for a while, out of sight and out of mind, as it were. All the items finally loaded up onto the counter, Sever came up quietly behind Reynard and smirked, tapping him on the shoulder. "Well, let's see... that comes out to all that you've got, plus about two months of solid, hard labor. Spaced out over time, it comes out to everything you've got plus everything you make for the next twelve weeks, give or take a few, depending on how busy you are... I mean, taking out robbers and thieves... can't be terribly prosperous all the time," he smirked. "It certainly is a wide array of things though... what're you doing, building your own home?"

Reynard heard muffled footsteps behind him, as its hard not too with ears six inches long. Not giving much thought to it he continued reviewing his collection of things. The house, or room for that matter, was not in need of much repair. He only needed a place to sleep and store his things and on the way back into town he found a two story building. What had attracted him to it was the glass sunroom on its roof.
With a little LCR, it'd make a great view point.
He checked and confirmed the cleaning agent he'd grabbed. There was a small lumber yard of 2x4 boards next to the shop he spotted as he walked in, so he scribbled down the amount of them he might or might not need. He only made a quick walkthrough of the building, but the first thing he noticed when he opened was the flooring was rotted. He almost fell through the floor into the basement!
And not something that I'm going to repeat again...!
Formaldehyde, glycerin, arsenic, petroleum jell... so-on and so-forth.
A heavy tapping on his shoulder.
Only one man in the world with the affinity for touching my shoulder...
"Good afternoon, General..." Reynard said with a slightly unsurprised tone.
Reynard turned slightly, but not to face Sever but to continue his mental check-list. They sold everything but guns, which Reynard figured Sever had a separate shop for that.
"Well, let's see..." Sever said, looking over Reynard's things right next to him. "that comes out to all that you've got, plus about two months of solid, hard labor."
Was he trying to be funny? Not very good at it... he's too serious.
Reynard looked down at his feet like a small boy would, remembering the somewhat bad terms he'd left with Sever the night before, and he felt bad for it. Though he hadn't meant to lecture or give corrections, only to offer suggestions and advice.
Though, when was the last time he's killed anybody? He said that he lead a pretty evil past-life, then Finclumir changed him? Man, that must have been a rough first year of marriage...
Reynard chuckled in spite of himself.
But to be honest I've never even heard of an evil General by the name of Sever Citrin... ever. Would asking him of his wicked past cause pain, anger or both? To be safe, I'd better steer clear of that conversation.
"...Spaced out over time, it comes out to everything you've got plus everything you make for the next twelve weeks, give or take a few, depending on how busy you are... I mean, taking out robbers and thieves... can't be terribly prosperous all the time,"
Reynard had no clue what he was talking about. He had repeated himself about 'everything you've got' which Reynard knew was not indeed the price but Sever seemed to think so... but what he didn't know was that a week before Reynard sold his parents house and everything inside, accumulating a large sum of money(at least for a bachelor). Most of it was in a few banks but at least a tenth of it was inside the leather wallet strapped to his side. The exchange rate for one British pound was about four silver... thats why he was able to pay-out so generously for his nights stay. On the second note of what Sever said was working...
To pay off the debt for all this stuff, perhaps?
Reynard figured that once he opened his wallet bag full of money it would answer anymore financial questions that the man had. Then he mentioned Reynard's activities of that morning, which made him grin quite a bit.
Its only prosperous to my soul... but how did he find out?
Reynard then remembered the two prisoners sitting outside the shop, and remembered that one of them had a shot-out knee cap!
Damn, their really going to hate me for leaving them out there for over an hour... eh, I'll buy them each a drink.
As if that summed it all up, Reynard was fine again, grinning. A few of his sharp teeth poking out from his lips. Sever's gaze broke away from the pile of stuff and fell on him, he said;
"It certainly is a wide array of things though... what're you doing, building your own home?"
Reynard shook his head.
"No, I'm doing a small amount of repair work on a building that I plan to stay in while I'm here... and these chemicals, bullets, bandages and other miscellaneous items are for me and the remaining bandits in the forest. But anyways, would you please give me a round number for all this, I'm kind of in a hurry; I trust that you spotted the man with the knee outside(a little hard to miss). I promised him medical service in exchange for information. You see, he just might be our first lead in finding where the alpha thief is..."

Sever smirked and shook his head mockingly, giving the items a glance-over one more time, the numbers starting to fly through his head as he sighed with a heavy breath through his nose. "Quite a bit, I can't lie. You'd... best be rich, friend," he chuckled, moving behind the counter to start punching things into his register, item by item, the *k-chuck* of the keys rapid and non-stop as the amount total just kept increasing on the display for Reynard. "Or at least, have a ton of silver on you," Sever added on after-the-fact, completely seeming to have ignored the Alpha Thief comment for the moment. Slowly though, his fingers started to press the keys on the register slower, until after about 5 seconds he'd come to a total stop. Looking up at Reynard with a hard, flat stare, he cocked a smirk.

"...You can take the cougar out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the cougar, Reynard." Not giving time for any sort of rebuttal, Sever reached into his back pocket and pulled out a map which bore a crest on it - the same one on the tunics of the thieves out back. "...While you were out rounding up petty low-lives, I got real information. Here," he said monotonously, tossing the folded map to Reynard. "Go do something."

Koirn walked into the shop with his sheathed sword in his hand.
"Hey, is there any sharpening stones in here? My blade is dull like you wouldn't bleave it.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 13, 2008 8:10 pm

Sever began to ring-up the register, not over looking a single thing. Reynard took this as his cue to bust out the cash. He unbuckled the leather straps of his bag and started to match his money with the registers total meter. 'Silver,' as it was called was a small coin about the size of the American dime. It was made of silver(probably where the name came from) and came in paper roles of fifty to one-hundred.
"Quite a bit, I can't lie. You'd... best be rich, friend,"
When Reynard thought about it, he was... sort of. All of his parents possessions sold then put into the bank and put under his name. Yes, wealthy was a good way to put it, but not rich he can't just go out and buy anything he wants...
"Or at least, have a ton of silver on you," He added.
Which I do...
The registers display climbed, Reynard placing another two hundred down onto the counter to keep up. A simple moment later the previous number had doubled. Fed-up, Reynard placed a cool thousand onto the counter. Sever caught a glimpse of all the cash that Reynard had out and his furious typing on the register slowed to a crawl. Eventually, he came to a complete and total stop. Reynard was looking over to the candy section of the store, wondering if his kids would like anything sweet to eat. He then felt Severs gaze burn into the side of his head, slowly he looked over to meet it with a slight squint to his eye.
Sir, do you have ANY friends? Reynard thought.
Sever thus far, had never appeared to be friendly... always stern, but Reynard figured that it was some kink of Post Traumatic Stress.
He must have missed his coffee this morning...
Sever was thinking about something, but his eye's gave no clue as to what.
"...You can take the cougar out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the cougar, Reynard." He smirked... AGAIN!
Reynard's mouth opened, as he was quite taken aback by this random and thoughtless catch phrase.
Come to think of it... I've heard that before. An American Marine poster he'd read once said, 'You can take the Marine out of the Core, but you can't the Core out of the Marine...'
Reynard was about to respond, but then decided against it.
Ah, but if you take the cougar out of the jungle and put it into a cage then it wouldn't matter whether the jungle is in the cougar or not...
Reynard simply said;
"Thats what zoo's are for, Sever..."
Sever spoke quickly, most likely because he had realized that what he'd just said didn't make any sense. He pulled a dirty piece of paper out of his back pocket.
"...While you were out rounding up petty low-lives, I got real information. Here,"
Low-lives? Thats not very nice... sure their jerks, but that not far from what YOU are.
Shortly after he spoke, he tossed it to Reynard; he didn't catch it or even made an attempt at doing so, as it was a gross piece of paper that had been in Sever's dirty back pocket...! Shortly after the paper hit the floor he fallowed up with:
"Go do something."
Reynard scowled at Sever, his rude comment not going without Reynard's obvious frustration.
He opened his mouth to tell him a thing-or-two about manners when the front door opened. Reynard turned slightly and saw Korin step through the door frame, sheathed sword in hand. He smiled making a quick glance between the two. Reynard grinned'
"Hey, is there any sharpening stones in here? My blade is dull like you wouldn't believe it.?"
Reynard's grin turned to a smile.
"Oi', and where have you been?" Reynard said with a laugh, slapping Korin in the shoulder. "And don't worry about money right now," Reynard said passing a smirk to Sever. "Everything you need is on me..."
