i am well... been finishing up my teaching certification and working with students who are blind.... almost never get a chance to log in anymore ive been so busy... I log in just for this place and you guys... I see the economy went super wonky since last i was on (somehing like a month or two?)

I can understand why you'd be so busy. Doing school and work simultaneously can be taxing.

Yeah, too many cash shop 1 mil/bil gold chance items sold in packs of 50+, and people actually buy them..

I believe that when they started giving away gold in 6+ figures, and added a second form of currency (gaiacash) the economy here went down the crapper. Inflation has exploded in gold, and at least 3 announcements a day for something to spend actual cash on a virtual item is well past getting old.

If not for old friends, I think that I really would have left Gaia by now like Tana, or Kyouske.

Ganted, Tana still pops in sporadically for a random length of time, doesn't he?
As for Kyo, I know his girlfriend stuck around here for a while after he left, but it's been a long time since he was last here.

Went to see Captain 'Murica. I enjoyed it immensely. If you haven't seen it and desire to do so, remember to stay until after the credits for the final easter egg.

I is a total nerd, took my wife on a date night to watch Cap, and the worst I can say is that the film does not feel like Captain America . . . it feels like Avengers 1.5 with Widow and Falcon in it. Oh . . . and they took the Michael Bay school of fighting. A fair portion is so close that it is hard to see what is going on.

That sounds like fun... then again I'm starting to fall out of love with comic book movies now. It's been getting harder and harder form me to get excited for them.

http://www.cracked.com/article_20406_5-reasons-superhero-movies-are-bubble-that-will-soon-burst.html

I also saw a video somewhere that also likened the comic book movie trend to the bubble of westerns long ago. For a while, there were dozens upon dozens of that type of movie . . . until the public just stopped showing interest. It went from over a hundred a year to nearly nothing. Comic book films may very well face the same fate. The genre is oversaturated, and may well be destined to fall flat very soon. I still love them, but understand that they are similar in many respects, so the story is being told over and over- and people will tire of such.

I can see why they'd fall out of fashion eventually.

Don't get me wrong, I love them . . . but this is a trend that will ebb out soon. at least, that is my take on it.

I agree with your thoughts completely. They are fine ideas, however the over saturation of the market is making things get ready to die on the whole. (granted from some one who doesn't read any comics and just watched the cartoons as a child, I'm always surprised when I find out some of the more resent moves that either were obscure comics, or had a parallel comic released along side.)

It's bound to happen w/ niche genres that gain the spotlight, like the afore-mentoned wsterns are as well.

What I truly would like to see is more crossover stuff. Not sharing the billing, but just having more cameos. Give me X-men with Spider man tossing a few punches in melee scenes. Give me more comments naming other members of that universe within the narrative. One of the greatest strengths of comic book movies is the interconnectivity of the subjects. Avengers did it right because in all the major films leading up to it (Iron Man 1 & 2, Incredible Hulk, Captain America 1, Thor) references were made or cameos done to show they were in the same world. A favorite one was at the end of Incredible Hulk where General Ross was drinking like a fish, and Tony Stark walks in and has a conversation. Robert Downey Jr actually put on a business suit and played the character for one scene, cementing that these characters are in the same world.
