The girl squeaked as she was addressed by the scary man, clasping her hands on her lap and trying very hard not to burst into tears. "I-I'm Ben's swimming teacher," she said, not noticing the knowing and angered gleam in his eyes. "I d-don't know if you remember, but I spoke to your wife about teaching Ben how to swim about a month or two ago. H-he's been coming to the pool every other day for a little bit now."
Ben stood, a little to annoyed by everything that was going on, and moving to stand in front of Armageddon, clearly not caring about the red aura around the perpetually cranky demon. "Calm down, bullet-breath, I told you about my lessons a month ago. Not my fault if you're too busy playing with your little boyfriend to hear me." He glared at Alcott for a half-second, then returned his gaze to the demon just as quickly. "And don't let her appearance fool you. She's a-"
"Hey!" She pouted, crossing her arms under her bust. "Now you're just being a jerk, ruining my fun!" she harrumphed. "You know, you're the reason why I never get to date cute guys."
"No, that's because you're a slut and break their hearts so I end up having to clean up after you just like back in high school. You're the reason why I got beat up so often." He raised an eyebrow at her, cool, indifferent gaze chilling her bones until she finally stood and stomped her foot, looking at the demon.
"Look! I just wanted to come by and tell you how Ben's doing, just like I tell your wife every week. She's not here, though, so I was instructed to come talk to you. He still can't swim, freaks out when getting near the deep end, and won't even step into the shallow end. And if this is how weekly updates are going to be, with creepy blondes and glaring brunettes and your weird male bravado thing you've got going on, then he can find someone else to teach him." She reached down to grab her bag, then started for the door. "Benjamin, lessons are canceled indefinitely."
"What? No!" He started after her, only to have a flip flop tossed at his head. Rubbing the spot where it hit, he groaned and pouted. Great, there goes Armageddon's birthday present that he'd been working on. He sighed and turned back to the couch, setting his hands on his hips and glaring at the two men. "Gee, thanks. Now I'm out seventeen-hundred dollars and I still can't swim, and all because you had to scare the one person who would teach me with your stupid macho act. Well guess what, brat? Now you get to find me another swimming teacher!"
