	Exactly. Sony certainly cranked up the hype machine this year.

	And it worked. I have yet to hear of anybody that didn't get a big boost that was involved in their presentation. Kickstarter broke for a time after the sudden influx of money for Shennmue III, Square-enix stock went through the roof, etc.

	I can imagine their stock did well. Honestly, it's probably a fairly safe bet to invest in every major publisher prior to E3. If the ups outweigh the downs, profit. If they don't, it's easy enough to wait until you can break even again and then get out.

	True enough. I am not saying the industry should react to every knee-jerk of the populace. Still, when people ask for literal generations of game systems, it should not take this long to act on that obvious venture.

	I very much agree. There is no reason why "[Current Gen] - 2" and back aren't all available to download and carry across future systems. Worse still, why precious few are on PC, and, when they are, why they are inferior to emulation. Game companies miss out on so much potential goodwill AND profit by not doing the right thing for history's sake. Of course, keeping PC games running on modern systems is its own massive challenge, which is why I'm glad GOG & Night Dive Studios are attempting to tackle it.

	You would think that there might be a way to make an official emulator program for consoles. Instead of reading disks, you could emulate the program. some games like that get said treatment, but so many more could work out so well.

	I know for certain that Nintendo, Sega, & Sony have official in-house emulators for PC up to the N64/Saturn/PS1 generation. I know they avoid selling game files w/ a free or paid console emulation program due to fears of piracy, but consoles have always been easily hacked. Even still, the profit opportunity is so worth it. That and I'd love to have official controllers for PC (XBox notwithstanding).

	You'd think a single engine investment would be worth it to officially release rom after rom, getting money for every rom that is already sitting in their library.

	You know what would kick a**? An indie equivalent of E3. Let all those mad teams that could just be a couple of guys pissing around on weekends come together, show off what they have in the pipeline, see mass influx of pre-orders on Steam and GOG. Also I am really tempted to get Convoy and Toonstruck.
