Dead body, or unexplored passage? Hayes deliberated for a moment, but he could still remember that cold voice in the training room, false though it had been.

He stepped around the woman's dead body and stayed with Aulus.

Well, there was Aulus, and Tama and Hayes...
So Tambrey was taking the stairs also.
She smiled up at them, then edged around the body to follow Char down to where Tortie was.

Gauntlet levitated up to have a good look at the other three humans for some reason, after peering at his trainer, then had another quick look at the body.
Humans really did change after death...
He then rejoined Tambrey at the foot of the stairs.

The 'staircase' was cramped, constructed by removing insulation from the inside of the wall and placing scrap material on the carved out steps to act as footholds. The staircase was indeed steep, and those who traversed it would very likely get insulation in their mouths and stuck in their hair.

Those who took the normal stairs would discover, upon reaching the ground floor, that a metal panel that had previously been flush with the wall was removed and leaning to a side, revealing a gap similar to the one that had been in the upstairs room. Before too long, Daniel would squeeze out of the opening along with those who had accompanied him.

IT was cramped and uncomfortable, Faleen could only assume he REALLY didn't like dead bodies, but it really was a good escape exit as well.
"Well, I guess now we know where David probably got away to." She noted as she squeezed herself out of the panel, and straightened up, brushing herself off.

Kailee followed and slipped a couple times but when she made it out she coughed. So... so not worth it. She reached up and ran her hand over her hair cringing as she felt that her perfect hair was messed up. Maybe she would cry. Skip the bodies... the smell... the locking doors and all the other scary things... but now her hair was disgusting. She tried to gently pull it out without messing the curls as she waited to head down the stairs. She needed this over... so she could get to a mirror.

Well, this was rather unpleasant, though it certainly smelt better. Lex carefully walked down the hashed out stairs, finding them ingenious and wondering if Daniel had been friends with the women on the stairs, to go this far to avoid a body.

Not that he like bodies. And hadn't really cared to think about David escaping. Lex wanted to punch him.

Aulus waited at the bottom of the stairs for his partner and his former partner. There were a lot of things rushing though his head right now but one of the ones that dominated was a powerful urge to grab them both, head out to the jet and just leave. They still had to go down though, they hadn't found anything that useful yet and they couldn't go until they'd at least tried everywhere.

As the only other person around was Tama, and he gave exactly zero ******** about him right now, Aulus briefly touched Alex and Tam on their arms as they came down. "Can't be much more of it," he muttered to them, "we'll be home in time for tea."

Tortie bumped her head against her friend's hip; she hadn't been able to tell on the reeking stairs but he stank of fear. she demanded of Char and Paul.

Char rumbled. he concluded.

Paul waved nervously.

Tortie made a vague noise of acknowledgement but most of her attention was back on their surroundings now, she wanted this to be done so they could leave.

Picking more of the insulation out of her hair, and flicking it off, Faleen re-released Zoroark. and with a sigh, made a gesture to the stairs before she continued on.

Tama watched as the others came from a hidden panel, coughing and getting things out of their hair. He was happy that he didn't go that way...picking all that gunk out of HIS long hair. Yeah... no way

"Tea sounds very good about now." Tambrey smiled to Aulus appreciatively; she felt like she was probably getting tired, but it wasn't time to show that, nor was it time to focus on the slight aching in her leg and side... So she still wasn't -completely- healed up; it was -good enough- for this mission, whether she got tired or not.

He said, sounding quite happy about this. He opened his beak, thought better of it, closed it, opened it again, and proceeded to mimic the madman laugh he'd parroted earlier while half the group had been locked in the training lobby upstairs.

Glit slithered out of the passage, shaking herself and gave a displeased Ssssshhh.

Lex followed Faleen, tired and more then willing to get this done. Lets finish this up! To the basementtt.

Kailee froze as the chatot laughed and her eyes widened to find it as her heart beat picked up. Stupid bird... no... not his fault. She went back to picking he isolation and as Faleen nodded she walked over to the stairs. "Alright so down it is?" She headed to follow Lex and Faleen down

The steady drip, drip, drip that haunted the main hallway became more pronounced as the Rockets traveled downstairs, and as they approached the bottom of the dark staircase, the soles of their shoes would meet black ice that was almost impossibly slippery.

"Heh," was Hayes' lackluster reply, but he gave the scarred agent a brief smile of fellow feeling and glanced at the Chatot they'd picked up. Kind of a cute little thing. Char has probably asked it to stop making those noises, so it wasn't--

--nevermind.

Alphard, still in Hayes' jacket, tugged at his uniform urgently. 'I want to go home!'

The elite put a hand over his Pokemon. "Almost there, bud. Will you come out of the ball if I need your help again?" There was a pause, and Alphard shuffled deeper into the jacket. '..okay.' It didn't sound very enthusiastic.

"Good stuff. Can you put that hard drive in my pocket?" Hayes rubbed the Jirachi's head and recalled him once his request had been followed.

As the secret passage group started arriving and they all started moving to the stairs, the elite elbowed Aulus. "If you're keeping that thing, it's gotta learn some new noises."
