"Aside from all the problems it causes, yes. It's extremely handy."

"Don't hold your breath, dog." Kagu smirked, before kicking him off and far away from striking range from herself.  

[Zahzi]

"...Who knows? It might even out someday..."

Astaroth drew his blade and looked right at her.
"A mongrel like you needs to learn their place..."

Recht merely grinned and watched the fight.

"I doubt it. . ."

"Oh yes, because I have a place among you people." Kagu scoffed, rolling her eyes as she held up her scythe. "Pah-lease. I'm only here because Recht holds something very important to me, dog. And I'm beginning to reconsider our deal and abandoning his quest and going back to what I was doing.."  

[Zahzi]

"...You're like a constant downer, huh?"

Recht laughed once before holding up a small, glowing orb.
"You mean this?" he asked, giving a smirk.

"Here you are in the middle of the demon court and only here because of an insignificant skull...Pathetic."

"It's how I see life."

Kagu looked over at the orb Recht held in his hand, becoming fixated on it as she gritted her teeth.
"And you have no idea what meaning that skull has you damn dog." She growled at Astaroth as she continued to stare at the only child who could carry on her work.  

[Zahzi]

"...You need to be more positive..."

"Now...What would happen if I were to crush this skull..? Hmm?"

"Tried. Didn't work out to well for me. Just made life suck even more. It's better when you look down, because the up's hold a greater value."

Kagu clenched her teeth more tightly. While it was impossible to kill the child through it's soul, she knew well enough by now that harming it also harmed the body. She had learned the hard way when she was forced to listen to the damn child scream for three days straight before she finally broke into Recht's demands of servitude. Thank god she chose to live in the middle of no where so no one else heard the high pitched wails..
"I can always find another child." She threatened, glaring at Recht.  

[Zahzi]

"Which is why you should look up."

"Oh, but not another soul...Which I could always give to some other deserving subject..."

"But that makes the downs so much harder."

"New child, new soul. One that's not in your greedy hands. No one else holds any purpose towards a soul anyway, besides pathetic meals or stupid experiments."
Kagu then paused, pieces coming together in her head as a connection was made.
"In fact. . . I think I already know of a perfect replacement."  

[Zahzi]

Omazige looked down at her and let out a sigh before crouching down to her level.
"Then perhaps I should help keep those 'downs' away."

"Oh? Enlighten me...Tell me why you want another soul even WHEN you're here for this one..."

Hael just stared at Omazige, not sure what to make exactly of the situation.
"...If it makes you happy, then I suppose... I could care less either way."

"Simple. I find myself another child and I'm no longer trapped in with your servitude." Kagu answered bluntly, continuing her glare. "It seems you've grown tired of me anyway if you're sending your dog off to babysit me."  

[Zahzi]

"Ah, that's good to hear."

"If I were tired of you, you would not be standing there anymore..."

". . .You are SO weird. . ."

"I had assumed as much. But either way, you don't think of me as the same. I must be losing my use to you and I'd rather walk out of here alive and empty handed then out dead for your other pets to eat."  

[Zahzi]

"...How am I weird..?"

"Then why are you still here..?"

"You mean besides the fact you've made your next quest to hopelessly keep bad things from happening around me when we're in the middle of an unbalanced war..?"

"I hadn't made this connection until now." Kagu growled, still glaring at the soul. She still reluctant to leave it behind, seeing how she wanted to pass her work to a full demon, but Recht wasn't giving her much choice either..
