Starship Aria <Hunter Clan Base>

Krinna sprinted around a little bit, here and there jumping onto or over chairs, desks, consoles, people... whatever happened to be there.

It looked kinda chaotic, but she actually was very very careful not to knock anything over or step on any buttons or keys.

After a minute or two of that, the little black-and-white cat came to a stop on the floor near Aashar and Blin. "Nice place." she commented.

"It is a pretty large place so I have not had time to explore it." Blin admitted. "But if you ask the ship, it can direct you to different areas."

after a few moments pass, Aashar spoke up, "Aria, would you consider it overly presumptuous of me to address you directly?

from the nearest speaker"If I did, you'd already have offended me and I'd have no reason to answer you. I thought you were thinking about what to say, how did you miss that?"

smiling, Aashar responded, "I didn't, if you were one to be offended, you would not be one I would like to speak to."

Krinna wandered around some more, but not far and more calmly this time, with a lot of looking up at everything that was at or above the eye-level of taller individuals like Aashar and Blin.

The little cat twitched her whiskers and flicked her tail.
She really did like this place. It felt... like it was a really good place for her to be.
And she wondered if the ship could do other things aside from answering questions. It would be really convenient if it could do things for her like open doors or turn the lights on and off...

She might have been interrupting a conversation to do so, but she presumed to jump up onto Aashar's shoulder and speak. For some reason, she felt better about addressing the ship from a higher vantage point considering it was the first time she was speaking to it... and she hardly knew Aashar, but guessed that he wasn't likely to be easily annoyed by her sitting on his shoulder for a minute.

"Aria, do you have a lot of things that work automatically? I mean, if someone wants the lights on or off, or..." she trailed off and rubbed one paw over an ear and down her face to her nose. She was so used to human places that had light switches and doorknobs and things out of her normal reach that she hadn't thought to look and see if it was that way on Aria, and was realizing that she'd look really stupid if it turned out that Aria's design included things like that placed to be accessible for... short people.

(( ah... I don't know if I should write a reply on behalf of the ship? How does this work now? ))

"All of my functions are automated in case I am left alone and need to perform simple tasks to complement whatever it is I need done. This has the beneficial secondary effect of allowing me to convienience those who use my facilities." the ship responded, sounding much like a pleasant information worker

((it would seem Aria is one of my NPCs now, so this is the working pattern))

"Oh, then I think we might get along well!" Krinna exclaimed, squeezing both eyes shut in a gesture of contentment.

"I like this place." she commented aside to Aashar, still sitting on his shoulder since he hadn't protested it.

adjusting his weight and balance for the additional weight, Aashar responds "There seems to be much to like." and lifting his head a bit "Would you be so kind as to grant us a tour, Aria?"

"That would depend entirely on whether you have clearance from a ranking Hunter member." Aria reponded

Blin raised his hand. "I will take responsibility of them." He offered.

"Oh, thanks." Krinna said flicking her tail.
She seemed to have a knack for getting in on tours since she came to Byako.

"Very well. for practicality purposes it will not be a complete tour, but the most used rooms and a few of the quarters should do nicely."
If you would please enter the elevator."
and a light above the door to the elevator blinked on.

Aashar smiled a bit and calmly walked toward the elevator door, which opened as he closed the last few feet, and entered.

For now, Krinna stayed sitting on Aashar's shoulder, nodding in approval at the automatic elevator door.

Being a cat, she of course preferred to have a high vantage point whenever it was reasonably obtainable, except for those times when she simply wanted to be on her own feet to go somewhere.

Blin followed along, performing his duty as an escort while the ship guided the two potential recruits around.

as the three stepped into the elevator the door slid closed and the elevator moved down, with only the ear fluid as a physical indicator.as the doors opened, a Koi pond was visible in the middle of the room, a very large Koi pond, with normal sized koi.
"This is one of the rooms mostly used for relaxation, although recently plant people have used it for sustenance." Aria explained "The Koi are fully toxin free and edible is such is a taste of yours, but please leave most of them for relaxation purposes."

Krinna reflexively dug her claws into Aashar's shoulder just a little bit while the elevator was moving, not because of the movement, but just because she knew it was moving down, no matter how hard she tried to pretend it wasn't. If she had been able to really feel the elevator moving up or down, she wouldn't have been able to keep from reacting more nervously.

When the elevator stopped and the door opened, Krinna jumped down and scampered quickly over to the pond to look at it and smell the fish-pond-water, then bounded back to Aashar and Blin.

"This. Is. Awesome." she remarked.

Blin nodded in agreement, also liking the ponds full of fish. "Now if only the ship had a river bed full of clams it would be perfect." He said dreamily. Recalling he was acting as a chaparone of sorts, he began to tell what he knew of the place. "Hasmat, one of our skilled Hunters recently transmorgified into a sentient plant and often comes here to rest and recuperate."
