Allen stood his ground. His war hammer lance and mace in either hand. The other armored figure didnt answer Maya as she spoke. It simply stayed where it was. Suddenly a laugh came from behind the figure. Where the laugh originated moved from behind its armored escort. The person was of normal hight, like Maya. But it was a male. His eyes a piercing goldenrod color. His hair dark blue, almost black. His clothing was black, dull jet black like the armor that his armored figure wore.

"Your one with a sharp tounge aren't you?"

The man said mockingly to Maya. Allen's eyes narrowed behind his visor. It wasn't his place to interfere with insults directed at Maya. But if she were to be in danger, he would step in if she needed him too. But Allen knew Maya had a sharp mind and would beable to be just as witty and wouldn't let that man's mocking tone go unchecked.

Even in the short amount of time that he had spent with her, he had learned that she was sharp minded. That was good, because Allen wasnt sure where their travels might take them. Having someone with her sharp mind would be helpful. Little did he knew, she was full of many more surprises he had yet to see, aside from transforming.

Allen's gaze moved to the armored figure. The armor was dark, not like any he had seen in a long time. Defenders didnt wear armor like that. Or...

"Come one, Come All...."

The large dark armored individual said nothing, and it made Maya look at hims curiously, as she tilted her head to the side. could he not hear or something? But it was then that laughter emerged, from behind the large individual. She had been sure that she saw someone behind him, and now it was evident that there was someone. Not before long, a figure emerged, dressed in dark attire, like the large individual beside him. His eye's though, were a very piercing goldenrod hue. Somewhat complementing his dark attire, the first thing she noticed about him.

This person then began to speak, mocking her. Maya only smirked, placing a hand upon her hip. "Heh, I've been told." She then eyed the individual before her, and held back a bit of laughter. "I see you two like dressing alike. It's rather....cute", she teased. But as she did so, she could feel the atmosphere change. Allen held his weapons tightly in his hands, standing his ground. Maya could tell that something was bout to occur, and could feel it. But she kept her cool, still remaining her quick witted and sharp minded else. "But besides that, you guys are in or way, so why not move....kindly", she stated, that last part in a more serious tone.

Though she was more of a trickster, liking to spook others and such, she never had the needed to defend herself against others. But that didn't mean she didn't know how, or didn't have the means to. if this unknown individual pulled anything, she would cease him, and his big dark buddy in there tracks, with her illusions if need be.

The dark figure reached behind itself and pulled a large barchaide and a long sword from its back. The barchaide was solid metal, not like the one that had been seen at the weapons stand with its steel metal cresent moon ax head and thick wooden staff. This one was a dark metal, through and through. The long sword was was shaped like a figure eight, with two blades that crossed from the hilt to where they met at the point.

The man that was speaking with Maya gave a mean look. He didnt like the retort that he got.

"Atleast I dont have a weak goodie two shoes watching over me!

The dark armored figure shifted alittle, as did Allen. It was evident that both were ready for a fight. And it was evident that all of the people around them had cleared out. The street that Maya and Allen had been walking in was clear of people, everyone keeping their distance.

Allen's hands gripped the weapons tighter.

"So, your the one pure of heart eh? You dont seem so pure... I converted mine. And mine has a neat trick, show em!"

The man said as he shot his hand straight up and a bright flash of light errupted outwards. Allen stepped infront of Maya, bringing his weapons up to block anything. He couldnt see because of the flash of light, but he felt a huge impact on his weapons. It was the other Defender, that had rushed forwards going to attack Maya.

"Come one, Come All...."

Maya didn't let the large dark armored figure scare her as he retrieved his weapons from behind his back. She kept her attention upon the smaller half of the two. And it seemed what she had said earlier made the other mad. Maya only laughed. "Aww did I make the smaller dark twin angry" she teased yet again. Though the dark armor was a sight to behold, and she had a thing for dark colors, she did like Allen's armor better. She was indeed a shadow demon from what she knew but Maya never remained in the shadows and darkness of the Haunted Carnival all her life.

Maya could see that people began to clear the streets, they too knew that something was about to go down. Maya placed her hand at her side, her umbrella materializing out of nowhere into her hand. Once she clasped it, the small man spoke again, stating that she was pure of heart, or some nonsense. Maya looked at him strangely, wondering what he was speaking about. But before she could say anything the dark figure began an attack, blinding, she and Allen. She felt Allen shift in front of her, shielding her. Maya brought her umbrella over her, which helped a bit with the light. She then looked forward, seeing Allen locked in battle with the dark armored warrior.

Her eye;s then darted to the other dark clothed individual and glared at him. "What's the meaning of this!!", she yelled. This made no sense, and she wanted answers. Frustration, irritation and anger began to rise within her, her shadows beginning to swirl beneath her.

Under the attack, a normal person would have been obliterated, and even someone who was as tall as Allen would have been knocked clean on their a** at least from the force that the other Defender put forth. But, Allen's armor began to give a small glow as its abilities went into over drive, giving Allen the power he needed to fight back.

He pushed up with all his might, giving a loud shout as he pushed the other Defender back a few inchs. With his upward momentum he gripped his war hammer lance with both hands and brought down the weapon. The other defender reacted quickly, bringing up its barchaide, catching Allen's weapon just in time over its head.

As the two Defenders stayed where they were waiting for any movement or anything to tip the dead lock, another laugh echoed as the bright light faded.

"Do play dumb. Why wouldn't you know with him with you? He obviously told you not to talk about it with anyone other then himself. Well we wont give you a chance to go where you are needed!"

As the man spoke, he rushed forwards, towards Maya. He was fast, but not overly quick. Maybe he might have been a track runner at one point? He had his right hand behind him, concealing a weapon, and Allen still couldnt really see from the bright light that had been caused.

"This was to easy!"

The man said as he rushed infront of Maya but behind Allen.

"Come one, Come All...."

Both armored men were still in a dead lock, or had been in another, Maya couldn't tell. The light over head was still kind of bright, and her umbrella was shielding it from her. But as it faded, she moved her umbrella, so it rested upon her shoulder. The smaller mans laughter echoed once more. Maya glared, as he spoke nonsense once more. She knew not of what he spoke, which made her glance at Allen. "What have you gotten me into?", she thought.

It was then that she sensed him approaching her fast, and she instantly brought up her shadows, them shooting up around her. Maya then shot her hands forward, as if forcing the force of her shadows towards the man, in the form of a ball. "Don't take me so lightly", she sneered.

"....if you Dare"

Allen turned his head. This was all the other Defender needed. When Allen's head turned to follow the smaller mans movement, his weight shifted just enough to one side and the dark Defender took advantage of this. Throwing its weight into its barchaide and to the left, the dark Defender picked Allen clear off the ground in quite the display of strength.

A loud shout left the helmet of the dark Defender as its armor began to glow like Allen's. Only it wasn't a males voice that came from behind the helm. It was a woman's. She lifted Allen clear of the ground and threw him to the side, letting her weapon unlock from Allen's War hammer Lance. Allen flew a good foot or so before he landed on the ground and tumbled a few feet before rolling into a recovery stance. Both of his feet and both of Allen's weapons dug into the ground leaving deep skid marks as he stopped himself and charged forward.

His eyes narrowed after he had heard the woman's voice. Who was this? And what did this man mean by what he knew? What was going on?

It didnt matter right now though. Allen has his challenge, and Allen charged head long at her.

The man brought his arm forward, revealing a pure white ivory blade. It glowed with a bright light from within as he charged at the ball of shadows that came at him. He swiped once, taking his right arm which held the Nikaku like dagger and moved it to his left side before he brought it back across infront of his body, swiping at the ball. He was over confident in his abilities, as he tried to cut the ball. He didnt think of what might happen, that it could explode or envelop him. Very foolish of him indeed.

"Come one, Come All...."

"Foolish...", she muttered as she watched him slice at her shadow ball. Though it was easy to hit, the end result wasn't so easy. As he sliced it, the ball exploded around him, engulfing him in nothing but shadow. He was trapped in her shadows, and now the fun would begin. With a smirk, she stood before the shadow ball, that grew a bit bigger, since it contained the small man. Now as she stood outside, it, her unique violet eye's gave a shine, her illusions beginning.

Maya closed her eye's, creating simple horrifying images, to spook the man. And no matter how hard he swung his sword, there was no way out. "Let's see how long you last within my illusions"

But as she held the small man in her grasp, she turned to Allen, seeing him get handle pretty well by the other armored individual. And for a second she believed she heard a woman's voice. But she quickly turned back to the ball of shadows, placing her concentration on it.

"....if you Dare"

Within the ball, the man couldnt do much. His light shone brightly as he kept his calm. Though, it wasnt easy. He was going to have to try to hold on, that was all he could do as the images that Maya made around him continued.

Allen clashed with the female defender again. He brought his lance down, swinging the hammer head in a downwards arch at his opponent. The dark Defender brought up her barchaide, deflecting the blow with only one hand. This forced her to one knee, but that was alright. She swung her long sword at Allen's legs. He had to swing his mace down and jump back alittle, breaking his deadlock with his opponent.

The large darkly armored woman turned her attention to Maya. Taking a few quick steps she brought her barchaide up and started a downward diagonal cross swing. Allen was already running at her, but it wouldnt be quick enough if Maya didnt move.

"Madame Lamya! Move!"

Allen yelled through his helm.

"Come one, Come All...."

Maya turned to Allen as her name was called. The dark defender came at her, bringing her weapon in a downward directional cross swing. She only stared with wide eye's and instantly got hit. But to the dark defenders dismay, it was only a mere illusion. The illusionary Maya faded away, leaving just the large ball of shadow in the vary spot she had been. In actuality Maya was inside the ball along with the small male. She wanted answer, and since he seemed to know more than she, she was going to get in.

within the ball of shadow, the inside so very dark, she watched in the darkest par as he the make tried to stay calm, his sword shinning through. Though this was somewhat helpful, it wouldn't help. The disturbing images, things that he most feared swam around him. For the most part. But then it all began to cease as a small giggle emerged all around him. "Now, I want answers" she stated, her voice all around him. Soon an image of her appeared before him, it being just an illusion, but no one can really tell, seeing as it was a perfect duplicate of her. "What is this all about? What is this pure of heart nonsense?"

Allen impacted the back of the Dark Defender sending them both tumbling in a pile of metal. Both of them recovered as they tumbled and immediately began to lock weapons again, their weapons clashing and ringing loudly as metal met metal. Flashes of light, sparks and loud shouts as the two warriors swung their weapons at one another.

It would be a stalemate as long as both of them remained in their armor. Or, thats what Allen thought. He figured that eventually they would equally tire themselves out, then Maya would get what she needed or would come and help finish off this Defender, from where ever it was she had gone to.

But Allen's hopes were dashed as the dark Defender caught him in the side with her long sword. No blood was drawn, his armor was to thick, but it was evident that she was quicker, stronger and seeming to only grow in strength and speed. Allen was falling behind in attacks and defense. But he wasnt going to stop. Metal continued to clash as they fought by the dark ball that Maya had created.

The man that Maya spoke to looked around, trying to stay calm. It was clear that he wasnt terrified, yet. But his mind was starting to believe everything that was around him. Then it all vanished. His goldenrod eyes looked around, and found Maya's image. When she spoke he didnt answer right away. Instead, he lashed out, not yet ready to give in to her illusions.

"You b***h!"

He shouted as he swung his dagger, a lash of light whipped off and impacted Maya's false image. A shower of sparks rained down but nothing would happen. He looked at the image in disbelief as he began lashing out all around him.

"Come one, Come All...."

Maya wasn't one t be called such names but she help her temper, by giggling yet again as he slashed her illusionary self. "when will they get it", she thought. So sighing, she created yet another, as he began to lash out violently into the ever so growing darkness. He seemed t not be sacred, but it was only a matter of time. "You know, it'll be easier if you just answered my question", she said, a smirk upon her face. he illusionary Maya spoke this, as she stood by him, with her hand upon her hip.

As this went on, the real Maya, who resided safely in the darkness, could hear the clanging of weapons on the outside. She knew Allen wasn't fairing well, and wanted to go help him, but she needed answers. But if this one didn't talk soon, she would let the most dreadful illusions she could muster within this dark shadow cell and scare him to death, if that's what it took.

Both of the large suits of armor heaved as both combatants were exerting themselves quite a bit, trying to win. It was a down hill battle for Allen though. He wasnt able to keep up. As his speed and power remained constant, his opponents seemed to grow as the fight continued. But that should have been possible with the armor that they both had.

"What are you? You are not a Defender! For you wear the tainted armor!"

Allen shouted at the opponent as he swung his mace at the woman. She side stepped his attack and brought her elbow into the side of Allen's helm.

"Like you dont know! That the Defenders become what they serve! That they are a dying race!"

The man shouted at Maya as he continued to lash out. He wasnt become more frightened, just more aggravated. The things that scared him didnt just scare him, but made him angry as well. His goldenrod eyes began to glow brighter. Until a bright burst of light erupted from his body and continued to grow. But it was quickly snuffed out.

For some reason, he just collapsed. Falling down to his hands and knees.

"Why... Why have you... Fine!"

He said, half speaking to some unknown, and then agreeing to Maya's want to have answers.

"Come one, Come All...."

Maya was growing quite annoyed with this man. No one had every lasted this long within her illusions. But he seemed more angry than scared. But she held it, the horrifying images circling him, echoing all about. But suddenly a large burst of light emitted from him, making the real Maya shield her eye's. But though the greatness of his light, her darkness still snuffed it out.

Maya then turned to him once more, watching as he fell to the floor, talking to himself. But the last word he uttered was 'fine' This caused her to tilt her head a bit. "Has he given up?" Believing this was so, she, the real her, stepped a bit further, watching him upon the ground. Though he had shouted earlier about Defender becoming a dying race and all, she still didn't understand. Allen had not told her much about himself, only that he was searching for someone. "So, tell me. What's this all about?", she asked yet again, her umbrella twirling behind her.

"....if you Dare"

Without giving an answer the dark armored opponent took a step towards Allen. Allen stood his ground, waiting for something to happen. The dark armored opponent raised her barchaide and brought it down in a diagonal swing again. Allen brought his hammer lance up in the opposite direction, deflecting the swing.

With the momentum, he lunged forward and with a massive shoulder, he knocked the dark Defender backwards. He twirled his mace and then brought it up, catching the chin of the helm that protected the dark Defender's head. Allen let out a loud shout as he swung with all his might, but failed to knocked the other Defender back anymore.

Like a statute the enemy Defender stood there, lowering her head to level with Allen's gaze. She was pissed now.

The man looked at his hands, trying to do something. But he was unable to use any of his abilties.

"Your companion, he is a Defender. An old race of warriors."

The man said, curling his fists into a ball before relaxing alittle.

"They are a dying race. They change to better sever their liege. And as of late, they have been changing for the darkness of the world."

The man brought up one foot, and put a hand on it, before he pushed and stood. He looked at Maya and started to grin. His eyes were glowing again. Something was about to happen.

"A once proud race, falling to the corrupt and unjust."
