Saiya flushed and laughed. "I just bet you will." She said seriously as she took his hand and walked with him.

"You'd win that bet too." Kai said, leaning toward Saiya to give her a kiss on her cheek. Leading them easily through the tree line he took that chance to look sideways at her. He wasn't sure when he should tell her, but it had to be before she got the idea to go running out into the middle of the festival shouting it to any who'd listen.

A couple hours of walking later Saiya stopped and tugged his hand to pull him to a stop. Her eyes were scanning the forest on the other side of a small clearing as though looking for something to pop out of them. Either way she tightened her grip on his hand and tugged again so that he was a little behind her as she watched the shadows on the other side.

His hand slipping into his cloak, Kai slowly unsheathed his sword as he slowly stepped in front of Saiya. Keeping one of his hands hidden under the cloak with his sword at the read he squeezed her hand as his eyes scanned the shadows. Maybe now was a good time to tell her of their potentially dangerous meeting, even if he hadn't expected to be until after they reached the inn. "Saiya there's something I need to warn you about..." he stated under his breathe so that only she could her it.

Saiya wasn't listening though, her eyes had clouded over and her eyes stared at the trees unblinking as her hand slipped from his. Moving like she did when sleepwalking she started to move forward into the clearing.

Kai wasn't having any of that, leaping he wrapped an arm around Saiya to hold her back. Throwing his cloak over his shoulder he brandished his sword in front of them both. "Show yourself." he stated coldly, his eyes piercing the shadows.

An odd growl was all that answered him as Saiya slumped in his arm, out cold. "Give up the girl." A voice hissed from the shadows. "Give her to us."

"No!" Kai shouted, propping Saiya up in his arm as he prepared for an attack. "I will never hand her over to Viaţă scum." he spat, anger filling him at their request. How could he hand over the one he loved to her doom? How could he simply do nothing as the life that made his life was put at risk?

"No harm." One hissed. "So much power, just give her to us." Another hissed from a shadow that was closer. "We will not harm her." They promised him as the very shadows themselves seemed to shift.

Three hooded figures slipped from the shadows. "The girl, her power." One to his right said. "Give her to us." The one in front of him said. "No harm, she will be useful." The third said. "Others will come." They all assured him as one held out his hand and Saiya's clouded eyes opened and she stood on her own.

Kai kept his arm firmly wrapped around Saiya. "So taking her prisoner is doing her a favor?" he asked, seething at their indifference. "You Viaţă disgust me. Taking whatever you want without expecting to give anything in return." Kai said. "You know nothing about kindness or love and that drives you insane. So you think you must take everything unique for yourself."

Two of them faded back into the shadows while the one in front of him stayed. "We will have her." He assured Kai as he too faded back. Saiya slumped against him again as they released their hold on her.

"Not if I can help it..." he muttered, pressing his face against Saiya's hair. He'd have to bump up his meeting with Madame Btree if he wanted to protector from the Viaţă. She was the only caster he knew who's powers was greater then anything they could conjure or cast.

Saiya moaned lightly and put a hand to her forehead. "What happened?" She mumbled as she blinked.
