"After making sure that his brother wasn't on the verge of dying, Mokuba took his hand and led him to some of the EMTs that weren't busying themselves with the pilot or Jounouchi and Shizuka. He wanted him to not only be checked over, but also checked into medical care again, after all the trauma his body had been through recently. --- Jounouchi, despite his normally complete and utter affection for his sister, actually gave her a glare. Albeit, it was a small, pouty one, but that was still quite unusual. He muttered something unintelligible before giving in and letting someone check him over.
((I had a fine holiday. Just hung out at Karma's and drew for most of the day/evening. Watched some fireworks in the distance when we went to get food. A lot of idiots were setting off mini fireworks in her neighborhood, even though that's illegal here. It was pretty though. XD I don't mind the noise too much since Arizona's so spacious, you don't hear them too loudly in residential areas, and they usually stop by the time I go to bed. Only saw fireworks one time before the fourth, and I think it was at the end of June.
...and... and what was Shizuka's goal???))

Seto grumbled at the assistance but decided dealing with the EMTs would mean less having to answer questions for Mokuba. So he allowed himself to be seated, near Jounouchi, as a medic began a quick head to toe examination.
- - -
"Don't you glare at me," Shizuka said sternly to her brother, "you are hurt and clearly try very hard not to let people know so they can watch out for you. Now you have to suffer medical attention, it's your own fault." She smiled at Mokuba when he led his brother over their way. "Stubborn aren't they?" she said in jest to Mokuba, nodding toward the identically scowling pair.
((Ahh, my post got cut when I cut and pasted!! Fail! xd Sorry about that, I'm going to go fix that after I post this. It was just a goal to make sure her brother was okay.
I don't mind fireworks on the 4th, but the going nuts all the other days was a little annoying, mostly because the dogs in the neighborhood go nuts. My cat was chill though. Also there were a lot of the loud exploding ones that sound like gunfire, I don't like those. There was a shooting in the neighborhood a few blocks over a couple of days ago apparently. That makes me like the gunfire like ones even less. They are illegal here too so I kind of wish people kept it maintained to the fourth. There have been tons of firetrucks rushing through so I know some people have screwed up and started fires. I really don't want to worry about my house burning because of idiots who don't really know what they are doing. Drawing sounds nice though. Jill and I made margaritas and attempted to play Frogger with questionable (and hilarious) results.))

Mokuba had to chuckle in agreement as he looked at Shizuka and Jounouchi, the latter of which had shut his mouth and had willed away his glare. Sure, he may be the tough, protective brother, but when his sweet, innocent sister was annoyed enough to scold him, he went with it.
Making sure his brother wasn't escaping, Mokuba allowed himself to stand next to Shizuka as they waited, glancing at her, "...so um... if you don't mind me asking, why is it you're here, and why were you guys in a helicopter?" he shifted awkwardly, standing with his arms crossed.
((Lawl how sad.
Yeah, I'd be annoyed if people were doing fireworks every night for days. Thankfully my neighborhood is a pretty vanilla suburban one. Boring as hell and I don't know any of my neighbors, but at least they're quiet and don't do fireworks in the street. I do hear what sounds like gunfire on occasions, but I'm never good at distinguishing it from other sounds, so I have no idea what it is.
But yeah, people just shouldn't be doing such stupid things, especially on a holiday when they're likely drunk.))

"Well you two seem to be in good hands, behave and listen to the medics now," Shizuka instructed as she led Mokuba a bit away from their brothers. She debated how much to say and where to start as they walked.
"Okay," she decided to start with her personal beginning, "I was here to visit my family, not knowing my brother was staying with your brother. We were at your house when I realized I'd never actually told my mother that I was heading out here. When I called though she apparently tripped and fell, badly injured she's been taken to the hospital. Your brother volunteered to take us to her in the helicopter. Mid-flight this electrical storm that nobody else in the world seems to have noticed hit the helicopter and sent us crashing to the ground." She paused for a moment before adding, "We also think that we are being haunted or tracked by some sort of evil force. The evidence being events such as the mysterious electrical storm, the unending list of unfortunate events that seemed to have thrown our brothers together in the first place. That sort of thing. Your brother and mine are in debate over whose primarily being haunted, however I get the feeling that both of our families are in danger. I also feel that our brothers are the ones in the most danger, I'm just not sure from what."
Mokuba seemed to be goggling at her in disbelief after she ended her spiel, so Shizuka decided to just stand there quietly and patiently until he recovered enough to voice a thought or opinion.
((My street is mostly families with kids and the elderly so I'm not too worried about it honestly, some of the surrounding neighborhoods can be a bit more questionable though. Glad it at least quieted down after the 4th.))

Mokuba was considering that Jounouchi's sister might just be some crazy spiritualist. Seriously considering. After all, he had only seen her here and there during Battle City, and hadn't really taken the time to talk to her or anything. She could very well be insane. But as he glanced over to his brother, thinking this over, he saw his face, saw his dark expression and the emotional trauma hidden behind it. His brother wouldn't be this traumatized simply by being involved in a helicopter crash, even with the pilot killed. There was more to it, and the more he thought about it, the more Mokuba realized that a lot of the recent happenings were quite strange. And it wasn't as if he and his brother hadn't witnessed supernatural events in the past. So Mokuba wasn't quite ready to jump on board with full belief and support, but he would at least give Shizuka the benefit of the doubt for now and ask Seto to elaborate with his own thoughts on the matter. "...well... um, that's pretty... weird." he said a bit dumbly, before looking at Shizuka with a more serious expression, "I will talk to Nii Sama about this and see what I can do to help. But if your mom is in serious condition and you were on your way to her, shouldn't you still be going? Would you be opposed to getting in another helicopter? I can call one here to take you. And if this... 'force' is mostly after our brothers, maybe if they don't go with you it will be safer... I mean my helicopter got here just fine." he nodded.

Shizuka tried not to smile as she watched Mokuba's mental journey from disbelief to possible acceptance. When he made her the travel offer she replied, "thanks, but on the one hand I don't know if I'm ready to get into a helicopter again quite yet, and on the other I think my brother might need me more right now. I at least know my mom has received medical help and has been transported to a hospital. There's nothing more I can do for her besides wait. For now I think I'll hang around, try to figure out what exactly is going on."
- - -
The medics did a quick assessment of the two injured men, declaring that Jounouchi had a slight concussion and that Seto himself appeared fine, but it was possible he was suffering from internal bleeding, given his recent medical history. The pair was left alone for a moment, instructed to decide how they wanted to be transported to a hospital for further care. The easiest method of course would be to load them into the chopper, however if that would be too traumatic delaying treatment to arrange land transport would probably not be costly to either of them at this time.
Seto glanced over at Jounouchi after listening to their options. "So what do you want to do?" he proposed to the other man. "We fly we can go to the same hospital your mother is at, what are the chances we'll crash again? I mean what evil spirit would be that boringly unimaginative," Seto said with a wry grin, attempting to break the tension from earlier without actually bringing it up and discussing it like a mature adult.

Mokuba nodded, thinking that made sense, so was fine with Shizuka staying around, even if she might be risking herself to another accident. After all, he intended to do the same thing, watching over his brother more closely now, not caring if that put himself at risk too.
---
"...eheh..." Jounouchi managed an awkward, nervous laugh. He knew Kaiba had meant it as a joke (or at least the Kaiba Seto equivalent of a joke), but he wasn't really particularly confident that this spook cared about being imaginative. He was pretty sure it just wanted to torture and kill them at this point. And yes, he was terrified of giving it another chance to cause a helicopter crash, but even more so, he was not risking having Shizuka ride with them in one again. And she would if they were going to the hospital his mother was in. "Well... how long would it take to drive about?" he asked, not sure where exactly they had crashed.

"Well, driving wouldn't take us to your mother, as that is not the nearest hospital. If I'm estimating this correctly, considering where we've crashed, it'd probably take at least an hour of driving to get to the nearest hospital, we won't exactly be hitting a great deal of paved terrain. However let's discuss flying for a moment. My brother and your sister won't be getting in the medical helicopter. It's much smaller than the one my brother showed up in and medical personal tend to prioritize patient care to loitering family members. Going with the theory that one or even both of our families are being haunted, nothing bad has really happened to either Mokuba or Shizuka, not unless they were with us. I think it's fairly safe to assume we are the main targets of, whatever. So flying might be putting us at risk, but it might be the safer option for our siblings. I still don't think we're going to get a crashed helicopter twice. We've gotten no real repeats of anything thus far, our...err, 'ghost' has at least been an imaginative torturer. That's my theory, and if the two of them attempt to circumvent policy and get in the medical chopper we'll refuse to fly. I'm sure if we play up how immediate our need for care is they aren't going to want to do anything to prevent the quicker option," Seto proposed, ultimately planning to leave the final decision up to Jounouchi, but wanting to place all the cards on the field first.

Jounouchi nodded quietly as he listened to all Kaiba had to say, thinking that made sense. And strangely enough, he wasn't reluctant to admit that the other was totally right; if Kaiba was willing to explain his train of thought rationally and, more importantly, without being snide or insulting, Jounouchi had no reason to want to disagree with him except for pride. "...alright. Yeah, that does make sense. Probably the more we're separated from Shizuka and Mokuba, the better." he nodded in agreement.

"Great," Seto said after Jounouchi acquiesced to the plan, "I'll go let the medics know what we want to do and influence them to insist your sister and my brother fly separately if Mokuba or Shizuka attempt to veer policy otherwise." That decided Seto left Jounouchi seated by the impromptu medical bench to organize their transportation to the hospital.

Jounouchi nodded, letting out a deep breath as he took that in, trying to tell himself they at least had some semblance of a plan, even if it was just a 'next step' plan and not a 'get rid of whatever was ******** their lives up' plan. So he told himself to calm down, and did his best to do so.
---
Mokuba saw his brother standing, so approached him, curious as to what reason he was walking up to the medics. He didn't say anything, just made sure to stand close enough to overhear.

Seto sighed irritatedly to himself when he noticed Mokuba following him out of the corner of his eye. Seto would have to be significantly more injured than he currently was to not be hyper aware of his surroundings. Mokuba knew him well, but not well enough to just sneak up on him. He'd have to be a bit more subtle in controlling their transportation, get things the way he and Jounouchi wanted them without making it obvious that separation from their siblings was currently desirable.
"We've decided to fly," Seto instructed the medic, "we want to leave immediately, so Jounouchi and myself will fly with you in the medical chopper and we can finish further exams, assessment and initial treatment while in the air. My brother and Shizuka can fly with the staff in the corporation helicopter. It's larger so there's no point in crowding in the uninjured with us, I know you'll also need space to deal with any necessary assessment of the pilot before turning him in for autopsy."
Seto made sure his back was to his brother, masking his expression from his sibling while giving very pointed looks to the EMT. If the man noticed what Seto was doing he gave no indication. Moreover he played into the situation beautifully, replying, "yes sir, that sounds like the most efficient plan. We'll get packed up while you instruct your brother and crew on where we are headed and take off immediately."
"Thank you," Seto answered politely but without emotion as he watched the medic walked off.

Mokuba didn't argue, merely standing there as he assessed his brother's proposal in his own mind. Yes, he would rather be with his brother the whole way there, but he couldn't deny the practicality of the plan. And it wasn't as if he was so completely certain this whole 'haunting' thing was going on that he was particularly worried about Kaiba taking another helicopter ride; he felt there was much more danger in delaying a hospital visit by driving through the boonies. And so Mokuba allowed this, making no attempt to retreat or approach his brother for the moment, letting the other decide his next step.

After a momentary pause Seto spun around, feigning shock to find Mokuba standing a mere few feet away. "Mokuba, there you are. We are preparing to fly to the same hospital in which Jounouchi's mother is currently residing. To make things more efficient Jounouchi and myself will fly with medical and continue further immediate care in the air. You will escort Shizuka with the crew in the Kaiba corporation helicopter," Seto instructed in a neutral, matter of fact tone.

Mokuba crossed his arms, staring at his brother, "I was right there Nii Sama. I heard what's going on." he pointed out, not having been trying to hide from Seto earlier, just standing a distance so he wouldn't intrude too much, "And yeah, that makes sense. But you better let them take care of you there, okay? You're hurt..." he frowned, tone getting a little less stern as he said.
