"...If this is not your power, but a curse, then why?" Hael asked, no longer backing up, for a few reasons. One of them being the fire wall was blocking her off now. Another one was though, if Astaroth was going to kill her, he would have done it by now. Yet she was still breathing.
"Why is it a curse?"

Someone then grabbed Hael by the back of the shirt and pulled her out of the ring of flames. "You okay kid?" Koji asked pulling her behind him as a gap in the fire closed.

"Hey!?" hael called out in surprise when her shirt was grabbed. She then looked up at Koji once was she was out of the fire wall, staring at him for a few moments. "Yeah, I was fine. Put me back in there!"

Right as Koji pulled her out of the area, the place she was was annihilated in an explosion of fire.

Koji laughed nervously when he saw Astaroth. "Yeah we should probably run..." He told Hael. Before she could answer he put her on his back, turned into a fox, and took off towards where Menos was.

"But!" Hael whined in protest before being thrown onto Koji's back. She knew better than to jump off, though the idea was still extremely tempting. The whole run back, she just stared back at Astaroth with a blank expression.

Menos had made a barrier around all of the Demon Brutes, stamping out any resistance. Because they were not being killed, others were not appearing.
Astaroth then began to sprint after Koji, quickly gaining.

"Menos stop him!" Koji said as he passed him. He sped up more, heading deeper into the forest away from the town.
