Saiya nodded and her forehead rested against his neck as she quickly let herself succumb to sleep. Huddling against him as she started to finally warm up.

Kai sat in a chair next to the bed as he watched Saiya sleep. He knew he didn't deserve a second chance, but that couldn't stop him from wanting it any less.

Saiya groaned slightly as she opened her eyes. She was warm and breathing. Her eyes landed on Kai and she smiled softly at him. "Where are we?" She asked him just as softly.

"We're at the Inn." he whispered kneeling down beside the bed. "How are you feeling?" Kai asked, brushing his hand across Saiya's cheek.

Saiya smiled at him. "Half drowned." She answered as she moved her face into his hand. "How long have I been out?"

"A couple of hours." Kai replied, standing up slowly to lean over her.

Saiya yawned and moved to sit up. "What was that thing? The thing that grabbed me. One minute I was trying to reach out to you cause I knew you had taken my joke wrong. Next thing I know there's this weird taste in my mouth and something is pulling me over the railing." She said with a frown.

He sighed, pausing for a moment before kneeling beside the bed again. "It was a creature conjured by the Viaţă." Kai replied quietly as his face in his hands.

Saiya arched an eyebrow at him. "The whata?" She asked a bit confused as she sat up and put a hand to her head. "I guess I'm a little light headed." She muttered as everything spun. She blinked and the leaned against him. Patting the bed behind her she motioned for him to join her instead of kneeling on the floor. "I always feel better when you hold instead of look ashamed." Her smile was soft as she tugged at his hand.

Kai returned the soft smile as he climbed over Saiya to lay behind her. Wrapping his arms around her he kissed her neck gently. "And I always feel better when I'm holding you."

Saiya cuddled back into him. "Good." She said as she pillowed her head on his shoulder. "Now you said that thing was conjured by a what?" She asked him again, feeling a bit better now that he was right there with her.

"Not what, who." he corrected her. "It was a creature created by magic by a group of vile people called the Viaţă." Kai explained quietly into Saiya's ear.

Saiya frowned. "And who are they?" She asked him as she poked him for making her ask again. "You seem upset about them being here."

Kai frowned against her neck as he thought of how to best explain it. "They are a people dripping with dark magic who've cut themselves off completely from outsiders. Everything unique, special, or powerful they won't only for themselves. And they're willing to go to any lengths to do just that." he began quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Powerful seers and conjurers they have long forgotten what it is to live peacefully..." Kai continued. Lifting his head to look at Saiya over her shoulder he was prepared for the reaction his next statement would bring. "I believe they were the one's responsible for that trance back at Grecko's."

Saiya blinked at him. "You mean me?" She asked him. "They collect people like me and they want to add me?" She asked him. "That's just twisted and sick. I'm not some exotic bird to just be claimed."
