He entered the study where the king awaited him. "Greetings. I trut you had a good rest." He said with a great fake smile, like a mouth full of daggars. "I did, thankyou your magesty. I recieved a message you wished to speak to me." He said formally. "Yes, yes. I just wanted to go over the plans for the wedding." The king said. "I will have a white wedding. I wish everything to be white. The guests must all wear white at my request." Kaden said officially. The King looked taken aback. "I see... I wonder if I might persuade you to a different theme, hm? A royal theme. Royal purples? And a grand feast?" "No, I'm afraid I cannot be persuaded. It was... my fathers wish that I be married in White. I wish to fulfill his wish to the fullest extent. I will, however, except the grand feast." Kaden said, Lying again. The King liked him a little less.

"And what of the bride price?" The King said sulkily. "While your daughter is prize enough, I do assume you plan to make a contribution to her future," Kaden said smoothly. "Well, uh, yes. It is important I give you something to releive the burden of taking a wife. It is a tradition." The King said. "Quite unnessesary, but if you insist." Kaden said, not really wanting to take anything from him, but not willing to insult him either. "I offer you my best horses," The King said, sounding impressive as if this was a great gift to a man who comes from a country where raising pure breed horses is often what it is known for. "I accept the horses your magesty. I'm sure they will be fine horses. And they will lessen the load on the horses that escort the lady and I to the desert lands." Kaden said trying to be witty with the king. The King looked appaled. "But you must live here!" He cried. "I'm afriad I must return to my lands. I plan to set up a permanent residence there, and rule both nations, if it comes to that, heaven forbid... by travelling between the two. Much as you have done in these past years, travelling from country to country in search of peace and glory for your country."

The King felt like fuming, but could not very well question the statement. "My daughter is not accustomed to the desert lands. Perhaps if a residence was to be set up here..." The King said. "I'm afriad my obligation must be to the country of my birth. But they are to be united as one are they not? The lady and I will move to the desert lands where I assure you she will be given every luxury. If I am to come to the throne of this nation, I will accept it and travel between the two, perhaps even moving my household between the kingdoms.

"I see," Said the King. "However, it is the tradition of our people that the man taking the wife remain to get to know the people and the land in order to become the eventual ruler. Suppose a son is born, he should rule the land as his own, not as a foreigner." "My son's own land will be my own. I will surely visit in order to appropriate any title I may possess in this land in the future." Kaden said defensivly. "I'll have you know there are many men who would gladly take my daughter, and pay a large price for it to. I can't think of many who would turn down a beautiful prize wife and leadership of a kingdom for no good reason!" The King bellowed. "I was not aware these were the terms of our agreement." Kaden said casually. "If we are to negotiate these terms, you must inform me your magesty. I will not fail your trust, or the people of this kingdom. However I must not fail my people either. Was I to leave my kingdom for this, choas, perhaps even war would invade our fair lands."

raylana held her breath as she listened to the two. she felt terrible that kaden had to go through this for her sake, knowing her father was cold and calculating and could easily have kadens head taken off.

"Perhaps then another would be more suited to my daughter and this kingdom's intrest." The King said coldly. "I have my sights set on your daughter." Kaden said simply. "I wish for no hard feelings between our kingdoms. You must know the price a war between our kingdoms would cost." "Are you threatening me boy?" The king bellowed. "Certainly not your magesty." Kaden said. "My daughter will marry a man who will save his best for this land." The King said turning away. "Then that man is I, your highness. I will protect these lands with my life. I will take care of the people. But I will do it my way. I request that the wedding arrangments be made for two nights from now. If this is short notice I can certainly take care of it myself. Goodnight your magesty." Kaden said and rose to take his leave. "How dare you show your back to me!" The King cried. Kaden turned around, made a dramatic bow, and turned again to leave, meeting Raylana at the door.

He smiled at her, and leaned in to her ear. "Don't worry, I'll fix this..." He said, barely above a whisper, and passed to go to his chamber. The King sat in his study, thinking to himself angrily.
