Yeah, but it's summer for Australia. This summer I'll get from.. -thinks- from mid-June to early-October. That's like.. 3 and a half months.. cool

Also it means when it's our summer they get a puny number of weeks. ;D Nothern hemisphere > you.

Meh, 3 and a bit months is roughly equal to 13 weeks, give or take a few days. Plus I only stated the minimum amount of holiday time I get. Really, from the start of November to the beginning of March, I have practically no work or classes at all. That's like 4 months. pirate

And so what if us Southerners get a short break when you have your long break? When it's your summer, it's our winter, so of course our mid-year break would be short. There's one thing you northeners don't enjoy...a Christmas that isn't actually freezing cold!!! blaugh Plus I think it makes more sense to have school years that coincide with the annual calendar, rather than being split in half over two years.

If Christmas was hot, then Santa wouldn't be able to wear his big red suit.

He might have to be shirtless. O:

And no one wants to see a big fat shirtless old man.

If that's the only reason why a cold Christmas is better than a warm one then I don't really care. We can always manufacture fake snow and bring in large air conditioners which simulate cold climates.

Large ACs?

We don't need people to be speeding up the process of Global Warming, kthx.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

A cold Christmas is better than a warm one because Christmas is mulled wine and mince pies and fires burning in the grate and snowmen and reindeer and getting red cheeks and frozen jaws outside and bringing snow into the house and holding flakes on your hand to watch them melt and lazing around covered in rugs watching The Sound of Music. You just can't do that in the middle of summer emo

Christmas isn't Christmas without snow, and therefore Christmas should be cold!

It just wouldn't be the same with fake snow and air conditioners. gonk I would hate to be Australian just because of this time of season. It wouldn't feel right for me, but I'm sure you guys cope magnificently. xd

At least, the people of Sydney do.

BBQ's are a part of a traditional Aussie Christmas.

      Mn.
If you guys lived in the Southern Hemisphere, you wouldn't think that Christmas without the cold&snow is so strange.
