Since I had my junior recital earlier this semester, I'm not technically "working" on anything, not for any other reason than boredom, haha. But my teacher's assigned me the following, for a headstart on next semester/my senior recital (whenever that is):

Schubert, "Gretchen am Sprinnrade"
Mozart, "Zeffiretti lusinghieri" from Idomeneo
Duparc, "Chanson triste"
Meyerbeer, "Ombre leggere" from Dinorah (also known as the Shadow Song)

I think we also decided to work on at least some part of Argento's "From the Diary of Virginia Woolf" set - I've fallen in love with it, haha. I think my favorite right now is "Anxiety." We were also talking about maybe Ravel's "Scheherazade" and Previn's "Sallie Chisum Remembers Billy the Kid."

Revueltas: Sensemaya

Shostakovitch: Symphony 10. 2nd mvnt.
LOL, how does your marching band play amazing music while I'm stuck with a cheap arrangement of Nightmare Before Christmas? Bravo.

For orchestra, I'm learning my part for Britten's War Requiem! We only get a week of rehearsals. gonk

The I have a week off, and then one more week of rehearsals for Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore. Should be fun.

And after that it's on to Shostakovich's Fifth. FINALLY. It's about time I got to play that piece. Oh, and some Bartok. And Mahler's Fourth, somewhere in that mix.

And that's all before March. gonk

And in addition to my solo, wind quintet, and Chinese orchestra stuff.

Busyyy.

I'm polishing Devil's Trill, but I'm excited because I've noticed how much easier it is for me to play both trills and double stops which has helped me a lot with Viotti concerto no. 22. Yay, cross-training!! blaugh

(Now to find pieces that help with false harmonics sweatdrop )
