Gustav Holst all the way for me. heart Come on, you can't tell me you've ever opened up a symphony folder, saw a Holst piece sitting in there and went, "Goddamnit, I hate Holst!" No, because it is IMPOSSIBLE to hate Holst. XD Come on, the Military Suites are amazing, The planets is... The Planets! Come on, you CAN'T hate Holst.
Also, I'll admit, I do like Percy Grainger, even though he was one messed up SoB. >_<
Oh.. And Shostikovitch (I spelled his name wrong. Sorry Shosti. =[) His songs are so difficult, but they're so GOOD!

chopin and for concert band, i like eric whitacre. those always tend to be the epic, memorable pieces of the year. smile

I really really love Stravinsky, Ravel, Debussy, and Shostakovich. Bruckner is also pretty sweet, I love how brassy his symphonies are and how harmonically interesting his choral works are.
I am such a nerd, I will be posting a lot here. haha smile
