Rini lowered her gaze for a moment before reminding herself firmly that she was supposed to be acting stronger and more sure of herself. She could not let just a few words kill her confidence. He had said that it was good. She just needed improvement. No one got everything perfect on their first try, after all. "Yes, Saotome-sensei," she said. "That was just the first Genjutsu anyone has ever cast on me. It was a bit . . . unnerving. I'll do better next time."

The genin took a step back, giving Saotome room to stand. At his words, however, she brightened considerably. He really was going to teach her the real water prison jutsu! Rini smiled broadly at him and nodded. "Yes, sir, definitely. If I learn it now, then Yun-sensei doesn't have to worry about teaching it when he gets back." Her smile became somewhat mischievous. "Maybe I can catch him by surprise."

"We shall start by learning this." He slowly showed her the simple handsigns. It was about two handsigns and it was not that hard to use. He then performed the jutsu using the handsigns to show her how to use it. He pointed at the water in the pound, and lifted his finger. Upon doing this, he then started to manipulate the water. he took a good amount from the pound, it was crystal clear. he then made is swirl around and move here and there. He returned the water to the pound.

"Its your turn Rini."

Description: Any Mist Shinobi that uses ninjutsu should likely have this technique. This involves learning basic manipulation of the properties of water. Boiling, freezing, and pressurization of water are included in these studies. Freezing is mostly limited to small amounts of water, and boiling includes the creation of steam by further putting chakra into the water. The user cannot perform these tasks on larger bodies of water with this basic study alone. Furthermore, by learning to draw water from the moisture in the air, the shinobi can use water techniques without requiring a source of water nearby (unless stated otherwise.) A Kage level jutsu always requires a water source, even if the Mist-nin in question creates it first.

The genin cocked her head, watching Saotome effortlessly manipulate the water, pulling it from the pond and twisting it about with barely any motion on his part. She was going to learn how to do that? Well, she supposed that it would be important for future water jutsu . . . Not trusting herself to do something so complex from a distance, Rini moved over to the edge of the pond and knelt down, peering at the water. After a moment or two of thought -- in which she reviewed what she had seen him do -- Rini moved her hands through the two signs and focused her chakra.

Frowning slightly in thought and determination, the girl reached down and touched her finger to the surface of the pond. Focusing her chakra into that finger, she lifted it . . . and nothing happened. Rini's frown deepened. She repeated the process, this time focusing her chakra into her entire hand. Maybe she was trying to do it too precise too soon? Still, however, the water did not react. She tried several more times, bu the result remained the same. With a sigh of frustration, Rini looked back over her shoulder at Saotome. "Nothing's happening . . . am I doing it wrong?"

He seen that she was getting the handsigns right and the chakera flow right, but she was not moving the water. He then watcher her, seen what she was doing and the things she was trying to do."Rini, i know what your doing wrong. The thing about water Manipulation is you not touching the water directly. This form of jutsu will allow you to control the water and freely move it. I am not sure if you follow what im trying to say, but with this ninjutsu, you shouldnt be touching the water directly."

He then showed her the manipulation of water, using the handsigns. He showed her key points of the jutsu, like fluid movements and chakera control. It was all about the things will controlling the properties of the water.

"See your more using your chakera to control the water. Now I want you to try again. If you cannot perfomr this jutsu, then your not going to learn the real Water Prison Jutsu. You have to master water manipulation to even use any of the water ninjutsu. Now try again!"

Rini winced slightly but paid close attention to Saotome's renewed instruction. Obviously, she had disappointed him by not grasping the concept right away. Unconsciously, the genin slipped back into her old habits, avoiding meeting Saotome's eyes and focusing instead on his hands. The level of her previous enthusiasm dropped considerably, and she kept her head down as she returned her attention to the pond, eyes downcast. No one was perfect, but it seemed like Saotome expected her to be just that. Was it because she had gotten the other jutsu he taught her correct on her first try?

The girl all but glared at the rippling water in front of her, as if it was to blame for making her disappoint her sensei. It was obvious that he believed water manipulation was a simple thing, even though Rini had read that being able to manipulate an element like this was upper-level stuff. True, elemental jutsu required someone to move that element around, but was that not part of the jutsu? Built in? Rini sighed and started making the hand signs again, fighting the urge to cringe at Saotome's last, biting words. She focused the chakra as he instructed, faintly wondering why this would be so much harder for her to grasp than the medical jutsu Luna was teaching her.

Wait . . . the medical jutsu . . . ! She had done this before with the Gantai no Jutsu! That jutsu required her to move water, and she had been able to perform it. Rini closed her eyes, trying to remember how that had felt -- what her chakra had done in reaction to the water. Aha! That was it! Making the hand signs once more, the genin held her hands over the pond and allowed her chakra to seep down toward the water. After a moment, she mimicked Saotome's flowing motions, focusing on drawing the water up into her cradling chakra. Obediently, the water beneath her hands shifted upwards with her motions, swirling up into an orb that hovered between her palms. A triumphant smile spread across Rini's face. There. Finally.

Seeing the success of the Genin using the jutsu, he was glad that she had caught on. He thought about the words he was using."Am i being to rough?" He then seen that she was using a different technique. It puzzled him, but it seemed to work."Excellent job!. I see you have managed and the thing is, its really starting to show your determination to learning." He was wondering if she was linking her experiences with medical jutsu. He now knew that working with her would take more time than he thought. He just hoped that she had enough chakera for the water prison jutsu, for it was a Jonin level technique.

Upon the succession, he then looked at her."Now i want you to preform the jutsu again, but i want you to make the ball of water in your hand the size of a Ramen shop building. I need to see your chakera level, to know how much you can handle for so long." Upon this, he then walked over to the pond. From the stream that ran from it, he used the jutsu like he normally would. With is ability, he could perform waters jutsu 5x faster than a water shinobi would without the clan he was in. He then summoned up a ball of water that was the big enough to surround Rini, and give her a 3ft 360 degree coverage of water around her.

"I want you to manipulate and control the same amount of water for 5 minutes."

Smiling broadly, Rini released the small bit of water back into the pond and turned to Saotome for further instruction. Upon hearing what he wanted her to do, however, her eyes widened considerably. She swallowed, glancing from his globe of water to the pond and connecting streams. This was not going to be easy . . . Taking a deep breath, Rini re-instated the jutsu, carefully coaxing enough water from the pond and stream to match Saotome's massive orb. By allowing the water to flow with the current of the stream up into her growing glob, she found the process to go a bit faster, as if she had created a pipe of chakra and was allowing the water flow to do some of the work for her. That did not mean the process was easy, and Rini quickly felt her chakra reserves drop. She bit her lower lip, squeezing her eyes shut and concentrating on the task at hand. Her ball of water was nearly the proper size, though the outside was not nearly as smooth as Saotome's.

Sweat began to bead on Rini's forehead as she felt her chakra continue to seep out with the effort to hold the jutsu in place. If she kept this up, she would be running on near empty in a matter of minutes. She frowned, feeling a tremor run through her. She was using too much chakra, but how else should she hold the thing still? Swallowing, Rini racked her brain for ideas, quickly coming to a conclusion and deciding to throw caution to the wind and test it. Carefully, she withdrew her chakra from the heart of the globe, feeling a bit of the pressure in her chest ease. If she restricted her chakra flow to the outside layer of the globe, she could still hold it together while minimizing her energy output. The effort still left her drained and trembling slightly, but the circular flow of chakra made sure that she was not using up her entire stores at once.

She did not know how long she held the globe of water before she felt her control begin to fail. Hand shaking, she opened a hole in her chakra layer, to let some of the water drain out so that when she dropped it completely, it would not make too violent of a splash. Panting heavily, Rini dropped her arms and all but collapsed to her knees. Her body ached and she could feel the beginnings of the tell-tale burn in her gut that signaled her low chakra levels. The medical training had built up those levels -- as well as her chakra control -- but that one exercise had taking a lot out of her . . . making her feel as if she had already gone through a full day of Luna's training in just those few minutes.

((Sorry I've been missing for the past few days. I had a World Lit. paper on Great Expectations to finish and pretty much had to shut myself off from the internet so I wouldn't be distracted. -__-))

Saotome watched the girls performance. He seen that she was successful in getting the size and proportion of the water, but keeping and maintaining the water was difficult. He knew that she was being put to the test for she would not being using the water manipulation itself to create the prison, but to using the water to cast the jutsu.

"Rini, you did well, but your not strong enough to even hold the amount of water i want you to. See using the Water Prison Jutsu will make you hold and maintain huge amounts of water as you jsut did. The thing is you cannot maintain the water for more than 5 min yet. The Water Prison Jutsu is a Jonin level technique. You dont have enough chakera."

He cleared the water from the dojo, and put it back into the pond."i think you should stick with your training at Genin level. But i think you have the basic principles of water manipulation down, that is good."Life with training other shinob's was hard but simple. He then thought about the next technique he was going to teach her.

Suddenly a thick mist began to form around the home a woman's voice coming from it "I dont like it when people take my students Hya" a figure barely seen moves through the mist around Hya and Rini. Suddenly the figure jumps down from the air and onto the back of Hya. "Hyaaaaaa" the mist cleared as the figure could be seen attached to Saotome's back, it was Luna's clone, who Luna had recently send ot the mist ot check on Rini and Luna. Smiling she said "Hey kids, what's up?"

Rini nodded wearily, trying to catch her breath as she listened to Saotome's assessment. She wiped her brow with her sleeve, panting somewhat heavily. That was the most chakra she had ever used on any single technique, and she could feel the strain that it put on her system. She would probably need a good long rest before she tried to do anything else. "I agree, though at least it's nice to know where I stand, eh Saotome-s--"

Rini stopped mid-word as the mist suddenly gathered and Luna emerged to pounce on Saotome's back. "Luna-sensei!" Her eyes widened and she tried to scramble to her feet -- only to sink wearily back down to her knees. Giving up on that attempt, she placed her hands on the ground in front of her and bowed her head apologetically to her teacher. "I'm sorry, sensei. It was my idea. You didn't leave me any specific instructions, so I thought maybe Saotome-san could help me get a little ahead before you came back . . ."

"Luna, its always good to see a good friend." She was on his back in a meer second, after the mist had formed. He was suprised for sure.

"Well, she didn't really know what to do, so i tought her a trick or two. I really hope you dont mind."

Luna, who was still on satome's back, released hr grip and landed gracefully on the ground smiling. She turned to Rini and said happily "look at my student, taking time for extra training it makes m honored to be your sensei." she leaned on hya's shoulder "and once hes sobered up you couldnt have found a better teacher. though im just a clone luna would say the same."

Rini smiled proudly, relieved that Luna -- or her clone -- was not upset that she had turned to someone else for training. She even approved of the genin's choice! The girl pushed herself to her feet, wobbling slightly. "Well, Hya-sensei was my first sensei, and he's still himself, even if he's changed his name." She smiled warmly at the man in question. "So I figured he'd be the best choice for me . . . I've already learned--" Rini paused for a moment, a grin slowly spreading across her face. "I'm not going to tell you. You'll just have to find out when you come home."

Sonic appeared through the mist standing infront of the house."I finally made it.The house of the man from the rumors."Sonic slowly pulled out a Ace of Diamonds from his deck as he flipped it through his flingers walking up to the door.He knocked slowly waiting for a response.

He made his way to the front door and then opened the door.
