 Don't love me for who I'm not...
I ran at the Furies, twisting my blade to slice through two of them. I growled, anger running through me. I hate Furies! HATE THEM! I kept attacking, getting angry as they keep appearing and appearing. Its like they were multiplying! This shouldn't be happening, they should disappear and that should be the end of it. I turned to see a Fury swing at Thanos and knock him against the building. Rage filled my body and I ran at the Fury and stabbed Laconic through its face.
"Daniella where are they all coming from!" I moved my way in front of her, silently telling her to go see if Thanos was okay. I could hold them off long enough. I was a Son of Ares after all, fighting was my specialty. I lunged for the Furies, feeling the power of Laconic take over. I attacked the Furies non-stop, wishing that they didn't turn to dust as soon as you hit them. I wanted to see them writhe in pain from the poison along the edges of Laconic.
This was just even more reason to believe that Hades had the weapon Daniella and I were looking for. Furies were followers of Hades....Leading me to believe that he was sending them at us to keep us away from the weapon. "Daniella we either need to...Get in the car and keep driving! Or....find some magic spell to kill them all and then get in the car and keep driving!" I growled and kept attacking the Furies, this had been going on for way to long.

There were so many Furies I couldn't keep track. I had to do something so we could get away. I twirled my Naginita around and slammed it hard on the ground. "Fulgur" I screamed louder. Giant Lighting bolts erupted from the staff and zapped all the remainder Furies. As they all disappeared, I fell to my knees. I felt weak, I had used so much of my power. Now, I understood that I did have limits to this gift. Using the staff as an anchor, I lifted myself up and went over to Thanos but he was standing. He seemed perfectly fine but I didn't understand.
What? He asked as if it was no big thing. It's going to take more than little a slap from a Fury to stop me. I was glad that he was alright. Hayden, having fought some herself, flew down and rested on my shoulder. Just by her touch, I was feeling better.
"Note to self," I said aloud, "never do that again." I held my stomach as I began to feel queasy. "I think I'm going to be sick." But nothing came up. So, I waddled over to the car, put the, now, mascara wand back in my pocket and sat back down in the passenger seat. It was good thing we were a half an hour away because I needed half an hour to get my strength back up. I had a feeling that was more than enough time to ready myself. I just wouldn't be using magic for awhile.

I rushed over to the car after Daniella. "Are you okay?" I stood in the way of the door so she couldn't close it. I looked her over for a moment before closing the door and walking over to the drivers side. I opened the backseat door to let Thanos in and then climbed into driver seats. I turned myself to look at Daniella.
I have to admit. She did amazing with those Furies, I just wish she hadn't made herself so weak and tired. What if she wasn't better by the time we go to Hades? Then what are we supposed to do...I bet there is going to be more Furies or something for us to fight when we get there...
This trip to see Hades was going to be interesting. All that I ask for is that the weapon be there and that Hades decides to just hand us the weapon and let us go. But, I had a feeling that he wasn't going to let us go that easy. There was probably going to be some type of monster that we were going to have fight and then some impossible maze we were going to have to go through....
”Daniella?”

I barely noticed that Zander had gotten into the car and began driving again. Hayden had to n** me once I didn't respond to him. "Ow! What?" I looked over at Zander. "Oh, yea. I'll be alright. I should be fine by the time we reach Hades." I lied my head back and closed my eyes. My head was feeling better but I still felt weak. There had to be something to speed up the process.
Eat some chocolate. I heard my mother say. In your bag.
I picked up my backpack and began searching through it. In a matter of minutes, I found some chocolate. Unwrapping the paper, I took a bite of the sweet chocolate and immediately felt better than I was. "My mom does it again." I smiled and held up the chocolate before taking another bite. It seemed to fill my body with warmth and energy as if I never had used magic on the Furies back at the gas station.
We arrived at the Studio in half and hour though I had to recheck the book a few times just to make sure we were in the right place. It didn't look like a place that led to the Underworld but it was. We were in the right place and we were getting closer to the weapon. We just had to be.
We walked into the building, though it wasn't what I expect. It was one giant room with one elevator door. In the middle of the room, was a desk with one small man sitting at it. The small man was busy with some paper work. I stepped up the desk and waited for him to look up at me but he didn't. Finally, I cleared my throat and the man sighed out of frustration and looked up at us rather bored.
"Look," he said in a raspy voice, "neither one of you are on the list, Miss Jacobs." I reached into my pocket and pulled out a handful of Dracmas before placing it on the desk in front of him. The small man sat back in awe.
"Are we on the list now?" I asked. I was not in the mood to deal with this man. Hades was already on my hit list for stealing a weapon my mother helped to create. The man took the Dracmas and pointed to the elevator.
"6th Floor. Go right in." I nodded in triumphant and headed towards the elevator.

I watched Daniella deal with the man sitting at the desk in the middle of the room. A nice bribe seemed to work in the world of demi-gods. I pushed the button to open the elevator and let Daniella step in first. Once we were in I pushed the button for floor number 6. This was it, we were really going to the underworld. The thing that really creeped me out was having to cross the River Styx.
Once the elevator reached the 6th floor I stepped out, the elevator had been way to cramped. Soon after we were in a wooden barge making out way across River Styx. It was dark and oily, full of broken dolls, bones, crushed children's toys and soggy diploma's. Well...This is depressing...
"Hey uh...Charon right? Alright, well why is the River so polluted?" I asked our escort through the beginning of the underworld.
"Humans have been throwing all this stuff away. Hopes...dreams....wishes that never came true. Hundreds of thousands of these things... You humans have poor waste management..." Charon told us, adding in a bit of what all that crap was.
I couldn't wait to get on the shore, but as soon as we did a shiver went down my spine. We were surrounded by dead people and souls. This was in all honesty creepy. "Lets just find the Hades. Get the weapon, and get the hell out of this place. All these dead souls and people are starting to freak me out a little bit."
I walked up closer towards the toll booths of the Underworld and looked at the the signs. ATTENDANT ON DUTY and EZ DEATH. I walked a bit closer and noticed the huge pure bred Rotteweiler with three heads. Cerberus. That name popped in to mind when I saw the huge three headed dog.
"Daniella...We need to figure out how we are going to get past Cerberus...That huge three headed Rotteweiler. If I remember my Greek mythology correctly...It can smell the living." I looked up at it. Watching how its three heads were sniffing out. I knew that if we didn't act quickly then we were going to be puppy chow.

The River Styx was unlike anything I had expected. Things floated all around us. Our "river guide" told us they were hopes and dreams. Wishes that never came true. A doll floated by our boat and I immediately thought of my little cousin. She had was only five and wanted a doll just like that one that was now behind us.
The boat stopped and I had never felt more relieved. But we weren't through the clearing just yet. We still had to find Hades but we had another problem. The giant three headed dog was sniffing us out. It was only a matter of minutes before-
Cerberus swung around and looked straight at us. It's teeth bared. Thanos growled but I stuck my hand out. I had a better idea. I turned to Zander. "Whatever you do, don't move from this spot." I looked back at Cerberus. May the Gods help me. Cerberus kept all six of his eyes on me. Thank goodness.
"Easy boy," I said, "I just want to talk."
No one passes unless dead. You're still living I put hands up in the air as if to signal I wasn't going to hurt him.
"And I understand that. My friends and I just want to see Hades. That's all." Cerberus didn't move.
How can you understand us? One head asked. I couldn't tell which one asked but I answered anyway.
"I'm Daniela Jacobs, daughter of the goddess Hestia." The minute I said my mother's name, Cerberus lied down and lowered all three of it's heads. This time it wasn't mad.
Lady Hestia is your mother? The dogs asked. I nodded and the dog sat up straight and moved to the side. Daughter of Lady Hestia, you may pass. I smiled and turned to Zander and Thanos. Thanos was already walking, more like running, ahead.
"We're free to go." I smiled and walked on to the lair of Hades. We walked through some never ending field. I could feel Furries everywhere but I couldn't see any of them. I stuck my hand in my pocket to ready myself for anything. We entered into the lair of Hades. Hell Hounds suddenly came out of nowhere. "Easy boys," I told them.
"Arketá! (enough)" A woman shouted. The hellhounds backed off and I turned to the woman. I could sense it was Persephone. The woman looked to us as if knowing what we wanted. "He's waiting for you in there." She pointed behind her. We had no other choice but to follow.

I walked past Cerberus with Daniella and looked around the Asphodel Fields and blinked a few times. This place was so weird. I felt like there were eyes on me...Fury eyes. I shrugged off the feeling and followed Daniella into the lair of Hades. Were instantly we were surrounded by Hell Hounds.
Areketá!" A woman shouted, the hellhounds instantly backing off. I turned to look at Daniella and then the woman who had supplied the voice. I could only assume that this was Persephone, Hades wife. "He's waiting for you in there." Pointing behind her, Daniella and I were left with no choice but to follow.
She led us into a room not to far from the entrance of the lair. The room equally as creepy as the Asphodel Fields and the River of Styx. But not as creepy as Tartarus... Even thinking about that place sent shivers down my spine. Hades had his back turned towards us, he was facing a fire that was crackling near his feet in a well decorated fireplace.
"Where's the weapon Hades...?" I decided not to waste anytime beating around the bush and I got right to the point. All I wanted was the weapon. Once we got it we could get the hell out of here, take it to Olympus and get back to camp where we were safe! Not constantly on the run from Furies and other crazy creatures.
Thankfully Nemesis gave us that tip that Hades had the weapon. This was going to make things much easier than I thought. It had only been a few days and we were already here where the weapon was. I turned to look at Daniella to see if she sensed the weapon in the room or even in Hades lair for that matter. It would be a shame if we came all the way here for nothing.

We walked into his "lair." Hades stood in front of a giant fire, arms behind his back as if he was contemplating something. My approach was to, somehow, casually bring up the weapon. Even talk to him for a little bit but before I could say anything, Zander had to ahead and just flat out ask him.
As Hades stood in front of the fire, speechless, I looked around the room. I felt nothing. Nothing different anyway. As if there was no weapon but I didn't want to believe it. We had traveled so far to find the weapon, to help get it back for our parents sake. It just had to be in the underworld. Hades slowly turned around, a little surprised by Zander's question.
"You honestly think that I have it?" He asked, not amused. "It's because I'm the Lord of the Dead. The devil, if you will. Because I'm the one mostly to have it. Is that it?" His eyes were turning red and I could tell, from this point on, we had to watch what we said.
"Nemesis told us it was here." A bigger flame sparked in his eyes just by the mention of her name.
"Nemesis? And you believed her?" Hades stepped closer. He was still a few feet away from us but it felt as if the room was getting hotter. "I put one finger on her stupid scale one time and she goes around and tries to hit me back. Well not this time!" He yelled. "First, I'll start with you too!"
"Time to go!" I shouted and ran out the door. Just as we hit the fields, hundreds of Furries swooped down out of nowhere. I took out the mascara tube and clicked it, releasing the Naginita. This was going to be harder than the gas station. And I was pretty sure I couldn't do any more magic for awhile.

||Sorry for the delay. Ive been...Sidetracked...|| Don't love me for who I'm not...
I sighed and pulled Laconic out of my pocket. Allowing myself to be surrounded by Furies before letting Laconic grow to its full size. I hacked and slashed at them, holding in my laughter. This...This is great!!! I got out my anger from being tricked by Nemesis out on the Furies.
There were hundreds of them. I tried not to notice how badly we were outnumbered and I tried also not to think of the fact that we almost didn't make it out of the gas station. I just let my sword take over my mind and attack. A few times Furies got a bit to close and I would jump a little before slicing their heads off.
I turned around, looking for Daniella but the sea of Furies was almost to thick. It was also very dark here in the fields. I was going to tell her that we should probably get out of here but I was to busy trying not to die. I spun in a circle, taking out any Furies that were as close as the length of my blade.
My heart pounded in my chest and I thought for a moment. What if we don't make it out of here alive? What if Thanos has to go back and tell Hecate and Ares that they both lost a child... Just keep fighting Zander...You got this... I shook off the thoughts and kept fighting hoping that Daniella was doing okay. I even wondered if Thanos was helping out.
Before I knew it a Fury was in my blind spot. The next thing I felt was a sharp pain in my ribs, my stomach and then again at the top of my head. After the crack to the head my eyes started to water and I dropped Laconic. Falling slowly to my knees and then forward. I blinked a few times before blacking out...

With each Fury I slaughtered, it felt like another one would appear out of nowhere. It was horrible to think that this was only part of the army of Hades. They were too much. I slashed and killed each Fury but I couldn't keep up with them for long. My arms were getting tired and I was beginning to feel defeat. I thought of Zander. I looked around and saw Zander's body fall to the ground.
"ZANDER!" I screamed. Out of anger, I twirled my Naginita and slammed it to the ground. "FULGUR!" I shouted. A giant waved of Thunder erupted out of the point of the staff. I felt half of my power drained but I had to keep going. The blast killed twenty Furies but it still wasn't enough. The Furies all lifted up in the air as if to attack with one giant blow. If we didn't escape fast, we would both be dead if Zander wasn't d-
I pushed the thought from my mind and ran to Zander as the Furies climbed higher and higher.
"Mother please!" I yelled to the skies, hoping she would hear me. "Help us!" Out of nowhere, my flying companion flew down. A giant aura surrounded Hayden. She landed on my shoulder and in a blink of an eye we were back on the surface. Hayden's color vanished and I looked around. She had brought us to a deserted alley way somewhere. I didn't care. I turned back to Zander. "Zander, look at me." I held his head. There was so much blood I didn't know what to do. My heart was breaking as I looked at him. "Please," I whispered, "don't leave me."
Thanos whimpered beside me but something seemed to connect with him. Immediately, he ran to my bag and started digging. "Thanos, what are you doing. This really isn't the right time to-" I stopped. The brilliant dog we had been traveling with lifted his head and dropped a small container next to me. "Of course! Thanos, you brilliant dog, you!" I opened the bottle and pulled out the root.
Remember, only one bite Daniella. I was reminded. I nodded to myself and broke a small piece off, hoping it was enough. I placed the small piece in Zander's mouth.
"This is going to taste disgusting but just chew it, Zander. Please." I watched him swallow the small bite and waited, hoping for a miracle.

I opened my eyes a little bit enough so that I could see a blurry outline of Daniella. I could feel my heart beating slower and slower like someone was playing a drum slowly. I felt her place something in my mouth and I tried to muster up some energy to chew it.
Slowly I closed my jaw and crushed the little piece of Mandrake root. I chewed it a few more times before finally swallowing. It was one of the most foul things I had ever tasted in my entire life. I closed my eyes again, leaning against Daniella.
I didn't want to die. I wasn't ready to die. I was also amazed at how concerned Daniella seemed...I'm hoping its not because I am the only one of the two of us that can hold the weapon and not give in to its extreme power.
The battle that had just occurred was fading, my memory of it completely gone within a few minutes. A warmth spread throughout my body, starting at the center of my stomach where I had been stabbed. It then moved its way to my side, my ribs and then my head. Almost as if something was healing me...But not completely. To describe it better it was...Saving my life.
"Daniella...?" My voice sounded incredibly small and weak. I was tired. My body ached all over and I was upset that we weren't able to find the weapon. I wiggled my fingers, starting to feel slightly sick.

I held him for, what felt like, the longest time. He moved closer to me and I felt like I was going to lose him forever. But I looked down at his wounds. They were healing right before my eyes. Finally, he said my name and I felt a wave of relief wash over me.
"Oh thank goodness." I sighed and did something I didn't really plan. I kissed him all over his face, getting every inch until finally resting on his lips. His lips were soft against mine and my heart did a few flips. I pulled apart and realized what I had done. "Um, sorry. I didn't, uh-" I didn't know what to say after that.
Carefully, I got up and helped him up. We still had quest to fulfill. "Maybe we should find a place for you to rest. Like a hotel, or a motel or something." I guided him out of the alley way and envisioned the SUV in the parking lot right next to us. The car we had driven was now sitting in front of us. It was my turn to drive.
I drove us a little ways until finally reaching cheap hotel. It was the first one I saw and decided it would do. I got us a room with two beds and, thankfully, we were able to have Hayden and Thanos with us. "Let's get you cleaned up before bed." I told him and guided him to the bathroom where I cleaned his wounds. There wasn't much to clean since they were practically healed so I cleaned off all the dried blood instead. No doubt his clothes were still stained by now but I got him a change of clothes and helped him into bed.
"Just rest," I told him, "we've got a big day tomorrow. Well, bigger than we've had." I got ready and placed Hayden on one of the chairs for her to sleep. "Thanks for today, Hayden. You saved us." I kissed her head and climbed into the other bed. Thanos climbed on bed and rested right beside me. I felt at home but I still couldn't believe what I had done. I had kissed Zander.

I heard Daniella's voice and smiled a little. The pain was still intense but it was starting to dull. All of a sudden she started kiss every square inch of my face until her lips rested on mine. I could feel my heart pounding my chest. Her lips were soft and gentle. I couldn't believe it but I kissed her back and knew I was blushing intensely when she pulled back. I muttered something about it being alright but she probably hadn't heard me.
She helped me up and lead me to the car. The rest was a blur, she found us a cheap little hotel and got us a room with two beds where she helped clean up the dried blood and got me a change of clothes.
I laid in the bed and closed my eyes for a minute. My wounds were healed but there were still phantom pains from it. I turned on the side that hadn't got hurt and opened my eyes, noticing that if I laid on that side I would be facing Daniella. I watched her for a moment and rolled to lay on my back.
Staring at the ceiling I thought about what had happened just moments before. Daniella had kissed me...Me Zander Erokhin. I smiled and closed my eyes, letting the full extent of what had just happened overwhelm me.
I quickly realized how tired I was and curled up in bed. Tomorrow was going to be a long day. We now had to figure out where we were going to go next because Hades didn't have the weapon. I couldn't help but think that maybe Nemesis had tricked us to lead us away from something...
"Daniella...Do you think that Nemesis has the weapon and thats why she sent us to Hades as revenge and to lead us away from the weapons true location?" I silently hoped she wasn't asleep and that I wasn't just talking to a random brick wall.

In the darkness, I felt my lips. I could still feel his on my own. How soft they were and they just seemed to....fit with my own. Just as I was about to close my eyes, I heard Zander talk. At first, I thought he was going to mention the kiss. Or the attack of kissing I had planted on his face before reaching his lips. But when I realized he was talking about Nemesis instead of the kiss, my heart calmed back down.
"Yeah, I do." I said to answer his question. "Hades little Fury attack and the fact that he wasn't too happy that we accused him made me believe that Nemesis had lied. I did wonder how she even knew how Hades even obtained the weapon." The more I thought about it, the more it did make sense. Nemesis was the goddess of revenge and she did say that Hades "touched" her scales. Something, I assumed, that was very dear to her. Enough to cause her to seek revenge on Hades and try and destroy him.
I rolled onto my side and faced the wall away from Zander. I must have been crazy. I had kissed him. Why did I do that? Was this what my mother saw in my palm? I couldn't be sure. My mother would probably tell me this was something I would have to learn on my own. If it was fate, it would happen. But had I made the right decision?
The next morning, I took a nice hot shower and got some breakfast from the buffet after getting ready. I brought it all back to the room since I had gotten enough for all of us. Thanos and Hayden were happy to get their food, of course but Zander and I still had a problem. We had to find Nemesis. As I munched on some toast, I flipped through my magic book trying to find some answers.

I listened to what she had to say before curling up into a ball and slowly falling asleep. I had one dream...The whole night. It was a still frame of her kissing me. I could feel her lips perfectly on mine. They were soft and seemed to fit perfectly together. Almost like they were meant to be like that...together.
I wasn't sure how many hours of sleep I got but the next morning I woke up to the sound of a shower running and the smell of food. I sat up to see Daniella brining in food...Enough food for Thanos, Hayden, and herself and me. I smiled and heard my stomach growl.
I grabbed a piece of toast and carefully pulled myself out of bed. I was still weak and sore from what happened the day before. I walked up behind Daniella and looked down at the magic book as she flipped through it.
"Maybe we can pick up hints about where she lives if we just remember our encounter with her. Maybe her clothing? Her voice? The way she walked? There are a lot of things that can help...Predict where someone is from you know." I took a bite out of my toast and kept watching her flip the pages.
I didn't say anything after that nor did I let her say anything. Instead I grabbed a clean pair of clothes and walked into the bathroom. Closing the door and turning on the shower. Once the water got warm I stripped and got in. Making sure that any dried blood Daniella might have missed last night was gone. After the nice hot shower I got out and dried up, getting dressed and looking at myself in the mirror. My hair was messed up and sticking up in weird places after drying it and my dark blue eyes looked tired and weak. This quest was really starting to get the best of me.
I walked back out to where Daniella was to see if she had gotten any new information. "Anything new?" I sat on the edge of my bed and stared at the sheets. My wrist started hurt for some reason but I ignored the pain and waited for an answer.
