 Marie nodded. "Yeah...but won't it be suspicious if we both leave everyday at the same time..?" she asked curiously. She knew her pack monitored the younger wolves. It was hard for her to get out without an elder.

Dominic Dominic bit his bottom lip as she spoke... That was true, things would go sour if they both appeared to leave at the same time, come back at the same time, and their families noticed... Crap... He had one thought, but shook it off... There was no way he was going to offer to just take her away from all the fighting, he hardly knew her after all... It was a tempting thought though... "Hmm, well I could always just sweep you far far away from here..."

Marie's eyes widened. "You mean we leave everything we have and let the war go one?" she asked. She thought for a moment. It was very tempting. Inside she really wanted to but the war could cause so many problems. She shook her head. "It's not right..." she said.

Dominic Dominic smiled softly "Trust me, I've been involved in this war far longer than you, it hasn't gotten anywhere in the last century, and probably won't for another couple of centuries..." he shrugged one shoulder "But I didn't expect you to agree little wolf, it was pointless musings."

Marie sighed and looked down. She barely knew what this war was about. "Have you been around since the beginning?" she asked.

Dominic Dominic's eyes widened and he shook his head "No, gods no.. My father was here at the beginning though... This war was started over a couple... Did you know that? A couple that wanted nothing but to be together... One was wolf, the other vampire.. And that's why this all started, their families found out, and they went to war over them... That was centuries ago though... I doubt most people remember why it all started..." he ran one hand through his hair and shook his head.

Marie sighed. "I was told that it was about territory. The elders said that the vampires stole the land from us and we've been trying to get it back." she explained. She felt like this whole war was pointless now.

Dominic Dominic shook his head again "Haven't you ever wondered why the fighters were always one of each sex, regardless of how many fights there had been? No, it wasn't territory, it was love that created this war, as most of them are started..." he sighed softly

Marie felt sort of stupid. "Wow...I never realized that..." she said and looked at him. her eyes were sort of sad. "This war is really pointless." she said softly.

Dominic Dominic smiled at her, stroking two fingers down her cheek "It wasn't pointless when it began... They fought because they thought it was wrong for those two to be in love... But now, yes, no it's pointless... Those two are long gone... And we're still stuck fighting for their love... It's absolutely ridiculous."

Marie shivered slightly at his touch. she felt her face warming up and all the blood rushing to her cheeks. She nodded. "Maybe...we should talk to them.." she suggested. She knew no one would listen to her since she was young and she could possibly be executed but she didn't want anyone else to die over this and it was worth a try.
