Actually, the word "toilet" itself was at first a euphemism in the days of the first indoor plumbing, coming from the word "toilette," which referred to the whole of a lady's preparation for going out. I imagine, considering the clothes of the time, taking a whiz before leaving the house would have been a very important part of that. xp
