To the ALT command things a while back...

Some ALT commands work differently on different versions of Windows.

In XP, for example, ALT+13 produces an eighth note (♪).
But in 98 Second Edition, It equals hitting Enter.

Alternately, I use Unicode commands. Here's my collection of Unicode commands I keep saved in a text file (just remove the space to produce the desired character):
Eighth Note: &# 9834; (♪)
Female: &# 9792; (♀)
Male: &# 9794; (♂)
Alpha: &# 945; (α)
Beta: &# 946; (β)
Gamma: &# 947; (γ)
Delta: &# 916; (Δ)
Sigma: &# 931; (Σ)
Omega: &# 937; (Ω)
Pi: &# 960; (π)
NOTE: I sometimes use lowercase and sometimes uppercase Greek letters, depending on which is more distinguishable.
