[RAID] A Legendary Heist

"Alright then," Aulus murmured to his pair of companions as they approached from the pier, "let's see what we can find out shall we? Nakura, anyone stand out to you?" Intelligence gathering was the annoying little tit's bag, so much as he was an annoying little tit Aulus was prepared to at least listen to his opinion.

He had to admit it was an impressive set up, the fountain in particular held his attention. Seeing an Articuno, an actual Articuno would be amazing. Of that trio Moltres had always been his favourite, but still. Wow. And they were going to see a legendary! Today! And capture it!

Where on the boat his stomach had twisted with nerves it now bubbled with excitement. A legendary, in the flesh once again and one he'd never seen before presumably! This was going to be amazing. Possibly deadly, but amazing.

"Any suggestions? Anything you'd like to see?" Tambrey asked of Lu once they'd disembarked, keeping the smile, still, and a casual tone; just a pair of visitors; one asking the other what he'd like to see.
She suspected anything they could find out might be useful now.

Kyle gave the Articuno a weary glance, glad at least that it was even remotely real. Had he not known that the Legendary they were after was one native to Unova, he might have suspected that his luck was poor enough for it to be an Articuno.
Though on second though he wasn't sure they would be any better off with the legendary now... At least this one was prooved to be tamed... for as much as that was worth.

Taking a breath he glanced around the people in the aria, looking over to Xander afterwards.
"You got a plan?"

Riley followed Aulus and Nakura quietly, just behind the Agent as they approached the courtyard, her gaze, too, falling on the impressive fountain. Lu and Kyle, despite their run in with the real one, had been quite lucky... it really was a beautiful pokemon...

She scanned the grounds in her silence, waiting for Izaya to take his pick, as he had been the one asked, not her. She would hold her tongue for now.

Lu wanted to step a few steps behind Tambrey, but forced himself to stay next to her. It'd look weird, trailing behind her like she was... well, the leader. Lu glanced around, spotting the Articuno statue and wrinkling his nose. As beautiful as that particular piece of art was, it didn't capture the angry Articuno he and Kyle had faced.

"Maybe we should talk to the, um, the locals? They can probably tell us what's best to, uh... see?" he suggested quietly, glancing around. He didn't want to talk to any Ranger but it seemed like it'd be natural, tourists asking Rangers, who were most likely to know the area best, what sights to see.

"Well, you know, the girl in the extravagant clothing and red hair kind of stands out," he answered Aulus/Kurt before remembering he was supposed to behave. No smart aleck remarks. "Er, I mean...considering she's here, wouldn't it be safe to assume the legendary in question may be some sort of bird pokemon?" Nakura asked with a sheepish smile. "A flying-type, at the very least?"

Aulus shrugged. "Could be." No harm in seeing what was going on. "Let's see what she's talking about shall we?" he suggested in more normal tones. "Not every day you get to meet a gym leader."

With this said Aulus turned and moved towards the red-haired woman, glancing left and right with genuine interest as he went. If they weren't here on a mission he would love to just stop and read all the boards and see what kinds of pokemon people had out before taking pictures of the Legendary. Pictures would have been enough once upon a time but things changed.

"That's a good idea. Should we head inside, do you think? Or ask someone out here? I guess they'd be less harried out here, maybe..." Tambrey addressed Lu again, with her eyes finding the statue and her mouth turning up.
"Aw, look. Now that's pretty, right? Always did like them. Anyway, what do you think?"

Riley glanced at Izaya from the corner of her eye and smiled a little. Probably not a bad guess.

She followed still as they approached the woman in the grass, and the children surrounding her. Now that was concerning, she thought, though her gentle, content expression didn't change. So many criminals--dangerous ones, with somewhat cruel intent-- so close to children... She really, really, really hoped nothing would go wrong. She was also really glad Molly had been tucked away... The leafeon would have been far too enthusiastic with so many kids around.

Nodding in agreement, the grunt grinned like an idiot as he held in his internal laughter with difficulty. Maybe it wasn't every day one got to meet a gym leader, but he'd certainly met more league representatives while on the wrong side of the law than he would have liked.

Sticking his hands in his pockets, he stood behind the sitting children as he listened, glancing at the fountain while he eavesdropped. It was curious that it had the shape of an Articuno, the very pokemon that Grunts Lu and Kyle had so recently encountered. Furthermore, it was a bird and flying-type pokemon...not to mention Kanto was next to Unova, wasn't it?

Was it really so far-fetched that the ice bird would have been the legendary they were seeking? This was supposed to be a Unova Legendary, so that seemed unlikely, but Nakura knew better than to rule anything out, and he didn't believe in coincidences.

In any case, why was the statue out here of an Articuno of all things? He would have to ask someone in a bit. Maybe one of the rangers, if Aulus thought it was okay to do so.

Lu looked at the statue again and sighed, unsure if her comment was intentional. "Yeah, pretty..." Not exactly what he would call it, but it was best to not talk about his experience with the real deal in public. "Kind of gives me the chills." He added on, giving Tambrey a small nudge with his elbow. ...He thought it was an appropriate joke.

He glanced around again and spotted a Ranger that looked like he was just patrolling. Keeping his hands in his pockets, Lu nodded at the Ranger. "What about him?" He asked quietly, not wanting to approach the guy without Tambrey's okay first. Well, he didn't want to approach him at all, but he supposed now wasn't the best time to be shy.

"Big Pecks is another one," the gym leader continued, speaking to her young audience. "There are twelve different pokemon that have it, and naturally, all of them are flying-types - birds, to be specific. This particular ability's good point is that it makes it so the pokemon can't have its defense stat lowered, which is nice because a lot of birds are pretty average in the defense department."

The children 'ooh'ed their interest, earning a grin in return.

Rory took a glance around the area, raising an eyebrow at the Articuno statute, before turning to Zacharie. "Let's get a decent look around. How good are you with dealing with people?" They could blend in with the crowd and see what they could learn from the other visitors.

Pffft. Okay. That was unexpected, but welcome.
And humour meant that Lu wasn't -too- freaked about legendaries right now. Maybe. Or maybe it was a coping method. Either way, it was good.
The joke was appreciated and she grinned, unable to resist adding a bad one of her own.
"Really? I think it's cool."
She turned her gaze toward the ranger pointed out, peering over the top of her sunglasses and giving a nod.
"Sure. He looks like a good guy to ask."

She began to walk toward Ranger C, smiling and calling to him.
"Hello there?"

Xander looked around the area, pausing on the Articuno statue for a moment. He wondered briefly if that would be the type of fountain Frost would like. He turned his attention back onto the mission when Kyle spoke up. "First things first we need to gather intel." He could see some of the others approaching the gym leader, something he was happy for. He didn't want to talk about flying types. "How good is your people skills, or at least acting skills?" He asked.
