KO hummed thoughtfully, dropping his weight onto one hip and reaching up to run his chin. He then scowled abruptly and removed his hand. "Ugh, I need a shave. But yes, I can see that.... Did you have to do anything with your keystone and Ella's mega stone to make them 'compatible' as it were? Or, theoretically, could it be possible for two people with keystones who each had a strong bond with a particular pokemon to make it mega evolve?"

"Nooo, but... From what I can tell, both have been, um, hewn and manufactured from the same material. I'm not entirely sure if there's a process to enrich or pair each one, but.... I don't think so. I have a suspicion that a keystone and a megastone might be unique, entirely, to each other. What I've been able to, uh, analyze so far more or less confirms as much... I'd think you'd basically have to have three bonded stones, all, uh, identical at a molecular level to pull off what you suggest..."

"Humm." KO shifted his weight, frowning thoughtfully. "Okay, but I've seen people with more than one mega evolving pokemon and I think they only had the one keystone so how does that work out?"

Now that was interesting.
Clearly it couldn't just be 'the same material' then. The molecular identity could still hold up, but with the idea that one keystone could affect multiple mega stones, she was developing a new idea.

"Hm. That's very interesting. Perhaps... Perhaps it's not so much composition... Or, at least, not entirely composition... Proximity. Two materials alike enough for a proximity reaction via... Um. Entanglement?" Tambrey shook her head; the biology she could undertstand- the hormones, mutagens, etc, and how they might affect physiology, but the way the stones truly worked, at their core... That was, perhaps, quantum physics. "We really should see if there's, um, a quantum physicist or, uh, a specialist on base..."

"Maybe they both emit," KO waved a hand languidly, "whatever it is they emit, and over time they... synchronise? Tune into one another's frequency? So you would have to have a keystone and a mega stone near one another for a while before they could interact and allow mega evolution to occur. Humm, yes, maybe we should post on the wanted/offered board?" KO cracked a smirky grin. "It would make a bit of a change from the sort of things you usually see on there."

"That's a good theory... I could, um, see something like that being the answer... There are, of course, um, similar items and aspects to various pokémon, but yes... The ones I actually know enough about have some fundamental differences in function and result..." And still she couldn't explain -everything- about those 'understood' substances and items...

"It's, um, worth a shot. It would be a very intriguing thing to collaborate on, even if it was just talking theory." Tambrey took the suggestion a little more seriously, but still gave a little smirk at the joke; she'd gotten that at least.

"I have missed, um, this." She admitted, after a moment; sure, there were other scientists, including Rory, she could banter with or talk to, but KO tended to be especially fun, and easy to speculate with.

"Quantum physicist wanted for speculation with biologist and chemist re: the strangeness of pokemon, refreshments provided?" KO suggested, still smirking even though he was perfectly serious about the suggestion. Tam's next comment however softened the smirk to a small smile; KO shrugged. "I haven't had time to miss it, but I'm very glad to be back... and again, that you're okay." There were scores of people on base that he was friendly with but less than a handful that he was friends with. It was an important distinction.

"Oh, we have to provide refreshments? I suppose that's fair... We could, uh, have a session of study, or discussion, somewhere we could eat or something..." She didn't have much to add but a nod and an understanding smile to his latter comment; a coma, of course he hadn't had time to miss it, but she was happy that he was glad to be back.

<< I want a dessert.>> Franklin, apparently, decided she'd of course be present for this session they were planning.

"The first time, to draw them in. We can negotiate after that," KO replied, smirking again and waving one hand lightly. Humm, dessert. "I should probably get some food," KO said thoughtfully, "I mean, I haven't eaten in a month." He still didn't understand how it was that he'd lost so little weight. He'd lost a little, and lost tone, but.... Well, there would be time for speculation about that once they were off base. "I should probably text a few others people too thinking about it." Lex for a start.

That comment, of course, got him a curious, slightly puzzled look. He really -had- just woken up not long ago? And had not eaten... He certainly did not look like he hadn't been eating in that long... Nor did he seem all that atrophied as one might have expected... Whatever they had over in Kalos, they clearly had some... advanced medical technique...

"Oh, uh... Yes. Sorry. I'm just... hogging your time here... I just. Well. It's a shock. A nice shock, but, um, I got a bit... carried away and distracted there. I'm so glad you're back, but yes, you need to let everyone else know..."

And she really needed to talk to... other people about this. Or at least have some time to process KO's 'undeath'.

"You're not hogging at all, I got carried away just as much," KO replied with a soft chuckle and a shake of his head. "But yes, I do, and if not before I'll see you in a couple of days for our spa trip and night out. We can keep speculating then, though probably not in the spa. We'd get some pretty strange looks, and attention we could do without I think. The Champion put our descriptions around apparently so we need to be discreet." He could definitely do without getting arrested.

Tambrey raised her eyebrows at that revelation, but supposed she shouldn't have been too surprised. Plus, she -had- been wearing sports goggles, and a ranger's uniform... though she had given away the hat... The goggles -weren't- quite a mask, but they weren't exactly her regular glasses either, nor had they spent much time outside of a cave with the Champion, so she wasn't -too- worried about whatever description might have been given of her. She doubted she stood out too much; her look, her hair- she knew she was fairly 'average', especially compared to a lot of people she knew...

"Ah... Well. Yes, um, we'll avoid too much speculation in such a public setting... And, um, honestly, in a spa, I doubt my mind will be... too much on that subject. Maybe." Actually, it was probably a subject that would just stick in there and refuse to leave, whatever was going on, but she could -say- that at least...
"Anyway. I'll, um, let you get on with... uh... announcing your return." She paused, and then, because she was unsure of whether she'd -truly- said it, properly, smiled and added "Welcome back."
