Anja had to get a hold of herself. She wiped away her tears in time for someone to come in. She jumped up and pressed herself against the wall. The guy who came down looked terrified of her. He was holding blankets and a pillow. She thought she said she didn't want those. But she would accept them, "Thank you, for those." she made her voice kind to let him know she wouldn't hurt him. He put them down just inside the doors and then locked them again Once he left, Anja went over and picked them up. She held them close. She lay the pillow and blankets down to arrange a makeshift bed. Then she laid down, covered herself up and went to sleep.

Prince Tousa of Darinest Tousa laid in bet for a good half an hour staring at the ceiling the entire time while he heard grumbling, snores, and various other sounds coming from the other side of the wall. An elongated breath was let out as the last thing he did before he fell asleep.
The next morning however, just as dawn was arriving, the prince woke and he dressed himself appropriately for his duties, armor being laced into place and hair being done up high. He didn't have a mirror to see how well he had done it, but he was practiced in the basic knot at least for just such an occasion. Once done he took the letters he had written the previous night and stepped out of the room and through the barracks the officers quarters were a part of. Out into the courtyard where several soldiers practiced their drills with a sword, the prince gaining bows as he walked by, his gaze only glancing over the soldiers that did so. It was not until he reached the pigeon coop did he speak to anyone. "Good morning your majesty, what letters do you have to send out?" The man keeping the birds asked.
"This one is to my father, the king. This one goes to the General, and this one goes to the daughter of Sir Varin. This one is to Sir Feris' second son and this one goes to the archivist in the capital so that the ambush can be recorded properly. Both sides are written down in this document." Tousa stated with a smile.
"I see your grace. I shall send them right away." the pigeon keeper stated with a smile.
"Thank you." The prince stated before stepping away and going towards the dungeon entrance. The two guards saluted him and he spoke to them directly. "You two, get a squad of eight and get ready for the execution."
"Yes your grace!" They both chimed in unison before taking off in a hustle, a ripple going through the fort soon after the order was given. It wasn't everyday that you saw a prince perform an execution. However Tousa did not notice it, he was already inside and going downstairs.
The prince stood at the door for a moment and then knocked on the reinforced door before unlocking it and speaking gently. "Are you decent Anja the Lycan?" He asked simply.

The next morning, Anja awoke to the sounds of hustle and bustle. With her acute hearing, she could tell what they all were doing. Eating, shining armor, practicing their attacks, sleeping and snoring; chatting about the war, females and food. It all really bored her. But then again, it would bore anyone who was going to die in a few hours. She had transformed into her wolf form. She looked at her paws, shook her tail and perked up her ears. Anja wanted to be like this one last time. She wanted to appear human to the others. Maybe she looked less hostile that way. She stretched and yawned and even cleaned herself, but what was the point? She'll soon be dead, then her body burned, When a knock came, and his voice was heard, Anja shifted back into her human self, "Why wouldn't I be decent Tousa the Prince?" she leaned back against the back of the cage, "It is time for my death." her voice was just the tiniest bit shaky

Prince Tousa of Darinest Tousa stepped in and then closed the reinforced door, looking at her through the bars of her cell "Tousa the Prince of Darinest. If you're going to use a title it should be the full title at least." He watched her for a moment. "Which form would you prefer to be in at the time of your death? I am sure you have your own practices as to which is a better form to die in. Since I am not a Lycan I do not know your traditions."
He stood and waited quietly. They were more than likely still setting up outside, no need to rush this part. Though perhaps maybe she would prefer it over talking more. He didn't really know at this point. "And yes, if my words before didn't make it clear, it is time for your execution."

"I will die in this form. Easier to stab me in the heart." Anja said in a factual manner. She wanted to avoid this long, drawn out wait and get it over with. The more time she had, the harder it became to keep her composure. Which was hanging by a hair. Anja was withdrawn this morning. She wasn't really up for debating.

Prince Tousa of Darinest "So be it." Tousa stated quietly, moving to open the door for her to exit through. "You will walk in front of me and head straight for the raised platform that will be near the center of the courtyard. You will sit on your legs in a kneeling fashion and do nothing else. You will remain quiet through the entire execution. I will make sure that it is quick and painless."
Tousa was straight faced while he spoke though he didn't look directly at Anja, instead, glancing off to the side. He certainly wasn't going to enjoy this. His hand was clenching and unclenching at his side while he waited. He simply motioned with a hand for Anja to go ahead of him.

Anja didn't say a word as she her first steps to her death. She passed by Tousa without looking at him. Walked through the door, and up the stairs. As s he got outside, she had to blink a few times. The sunshine was bright today. She was shacked at the wrists again, as well as her ankles. She expected that. What she didn't expect was the immense crowd gathered. She had to stop and look at them all. They were all quiet and staring at her. Talk about uncomfortable. Anja started walking at a normal pace, looking straight ahead. It was too quiet. Out of nowhere, a tomato smacked right in her face, "SHAME!" was yelled out. All at once everyone got mean, disgusted looks on thier faces. All manner of fruits and vegetables were thrown at her. They hit in all kids of places. She shrugged it off as she walked, trying to have a little pride and dignity. The only reason they stopped was because they didn't want to hit their prince. Anja stepped up onto the platform, went to the middle and sank down on her knees like she was instructed to do.

Prince Tousa of Darinest Tousa followed the Lycan in silence. He paused when there was a crowd. It looked more like a mob than an army. The idea made him frown and then, then a tomato was tossed. He didn't say anything while they were walking. However his eyes did try to track down the person who had thrown the tomato. Once they were up on the platform Tousa looked at Anja as she sunk down to her knees. He knelt down next to her and looked her over for a moment before standing. "Men! You will line up and stand at attention! Are you a mob? No! You are men of the Darinest Military and you will act as such while you are under my command! You will respect this woman's bravery and courage! She may have been a brigand and she may have killed your fellow soldiers but look at her now! She kneels in silence at her own death while you sneer and act like children! You shame not only yourselves but me, your own prince! Now stand as you should!" Tousa waited for his men to get in line, moving to draw the great sword from its sheath and setting the tip against the wooden platform, waiting for his men to shamefully line up for the execution. His glare was not a kind one. Once they were lined up properly he waited a moment longer before nodding. "Are you ready Anja?"

Anja was grateful that he stopped the vegetable rain. She didn't say anything to them, or yell at them. She accepted their hatred of her. She looked up at the Prince, tears threatening to break from her eyes, "Yes, I am ready." As soon as she closed her eyes, the tears fell from them, running down her cheeks. Her thoughts were on her family and friends back home

Prince Tousa of Darinest Tousa gave a nod and then lifted the sword up and took a deep breath. "Then by my power as Prince of Darinest, I sentence Anja to death." He hesitated and then plunged the blade downwards, shoving the blade right next to Anja, leading the sound of the wood splintering resounding throughout the courtyard. He then stepped up next to Anja and offered her a hand silently. The soldiers were wide eyed and just staring. "Stand up Anja. You have questions I need answered and you cannot be killed until that time. Do you understand me Anja the Lycan?" He just stared back at the crowd of soldiers. It was dead silent now as they just waited for some humor from the prince. Some morbid idea of executing Anja in some twisted way.

Anja was prepared to die. But when she felt nothing and instead heard the sword plunge in the wood next to her, she let out a breath she wasn't aware she was holding. With tears still running down her cheeks, Anja looked up at him in shock. She took the offered hand and pulled herself up to her feet. This had to be some sick joke right? Anja looked out to the crowd then back at him. It was what everyone was thinking. Why was he giving her this hope? It was cruel, "I.....I understand." but very confused. She was too shocked to do much else in terms of response

Prince Tousa of Darinest He let go of her hand and moved to yank the greatsword out of the wood before motioning down the steps. "You have a lot to answer for." It was simple and he began to move down the steps. "All of you get back to your training and work!" The soldiers waited a moment before the grumbling and mutterings began. Tousa didn't even blink at the idea that they were talking about the failed execution. He simply led Anja straight back to the stairway that led to the dungeon. His eyes were narrowed ever so slightly as he seemed to be taking note of his own situation. At having failed to just execute a Lycan. The sword was not held in a manner meant for combat, but rather much the same lazy hold he had had just yesterday with the spear. It was as if he was an autopilot rather than actually trying to understand his surroundings.

Anja followed him silently. Her breath was ragged and her heart raced. She only focused on Tousa. If she looked anywhere else she might fall over. What was he thinking? Anja stepped into the dungeon, going down the stairs, and entering her cell area. Her legs gave out on her and s he fell to the ground. She couldn't help it. She started to shake uncontrollably all over. She held herself to wait for it to pass. She didn't realize she had been this scared. She had never been this scared before.

Prince Tousa of Darinest Tousa set the greatsword aside. "We're leaving tomorrow for the capital. You will show me what you meant last night by soldiers getting more than what they are paid and acting like you did yesterday. We have a long road ahead of us. A lot of towns along the way as well." He glanced over to Anja. "If you are proven wrong you will be executed, if you are proven right you will be pardoned for the crime you committed against the military. Do you understand the situation Anja?" It was clear he wasn't sure of this himself. "We won't be riding with an escort of knights either if you are worried about that. What provisions do you need by tomorrow Anja?" Tousa then rubbed his chin. "... My father will not like this." He muttered to himself, now beginning to pace back and forth.

Anja pulled herself together. What she did was shameful. She stood up and dusted herself off, "I understand but I don't fully comprehend it all." "Provisions? Well I can't ask for any weapons, you wouldn't give them to me cause you don't trust me at all, which is wise of you." she too started to pace, and she tried to steer clear of him, "Travelling light? Dried meat with satisfy me. If I want something fresh, all I have to do is go hunting. And no, I don't eat humans." "Do I have to go back into my cell? But of course. And these shackles? I'm sure you'll keep these on me too. I don't think your men liked what you did out there, but I am grateful. I wish I could repay you someday."
