Liliya Yuliovna Volkov ll Mystic ll Doton :: Suiton ll Former Priestess :: E-Rank ll Shōton

Liliya laid still as the shadows moved around just outside of her small barrier of crystal, her claws ready to slice out a fools eyeballs the moment they broke through. She was beyond terrified, her heart was racing a mile a minute just at the thought of being recaptured. Let alone by whatever had just caused her pursuer to flee the forest with his tail between his legs. 'At least I hope that was the jacka-- jerk letting the world know he was leaving.' She thought bitterly, pupils widening for just a second before thinning back out as bright glowing eyes stared her down through the crystal. The sight only lingered a few seconds before turning its gaze away moving slightly before fading away into the shadows of the forest. Their presence vanishing along with their bodies. She let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding, her body heaving as fear wracked her spine. The adrenaline of choosing to fight back even for just a second had fueled her long enough to keep her composure while being hunted. She sobbed quietly to herself as her body shivered uncontrollably. This cold fear being gently lifted off of her shoulders as the world around her seemed to take her burden away. In her mind however she carried no fanciful ideas she just assumed the fire crystals were at play. Clammy hands clapped her cheeks to get her focused on the task at hand: Surviving. Step one was getting as far as humanly possible from her would be captor.

Fingers nails pressed gently onto the crystal she had created chakra seeping from them as her hands began passing through the rock like it was a liquid, soon her entire body followed. Anyone watching might akin it to a baby being birthed from a crystal womb if they were touched in the head. She landed gently against the metallic ground. Hands and feet pressing against before she began jogging forward into the forest. Her body slowly but surely lifted up letting her legs to all the carrying. "Jeez all that full beast running does a number on my back." She mumbled to herself, a tad embarrassed how her body just automatically assumes an animal's form of running when shes panicked.While she slipped quietly and quickly between metal structures her feline ears stood at full attention as she jogged ever closer to the towering stone structure she assumed vanguarded the woods. She wouldn't risk letting herself get complacent and have something sneak up on her. If someone was going to jump her they were going to have to beat her ears.

_______________The Narrator Whispers... ||
tab The walk through the Hellwrought Forest wasn't necessarily boring nor exciting. The forest was the same, with every step in the pale white ash of the earth churning at every step into a miniature cloud of death. The trees themselves varried greatly, given they were made of melted steel that formed trees. The red jellies quivered as she passed, seemingly pining after her, yet as she passed they fell still once more in silence.
tab It took some time as she walked to find the proper path out, as even the variety of the place was overwhelmed by the sheer quantity that existed there. Meaning, it became too similar until direction became difficult to ascertain, each turn looking exactly the same as the last. Yet the mountains in the distance were a constant until, at last, she came face to face with the great Battlements. The steel doors stood before her, the gateway to the outside world barred by a mountain range that rumbled and grumbled in the sky. The natural ridge was sheer here, as if some giant had scooped away the earth to stop the sides from ever being scaled, and yet did it need it? The mountains were thousands of feet high: surely no one would climb them!
tab As the neko observed the world before here there came a light whispering in her ear, first from her right, then her left, and from other directions in no particular order. Voices that whispered words she could understand.
"Here."
"Silence!"
"Darkness awaits."
"The doors are shut-"
"The dead are waiting!"
"Freedom is never free-"
"They will never open."

tab Rapid bursts of words, phrases and tones, each different in its own way. The final one, however, seems to come as her eyes are settled upon the gates before her.

Liliya Yuliovna Volkov ll Mystic ll Doton :: Suiton ll Former Priestess :: E-Rank ll Shōton

Liliya quickly found herself running out of breath her entire body heaving for air as she leaned against a dangerously angled tree, her arm carefully placed as to not slice open. Her free hand gripped at her chest as if she was trying to force her lungs to stop burning in venomous pain. The mere action of trying to catch her breath caused a domino effect with her body. Clearly she hadn't recovered from her many mile long sprint for dear life trying to escape that vulgar lunatic. Even having just collapsed not more than a half hour ago her legs were threatening to crumple under her own weight. Clearly whatever had happened to her body to make it younger had also had a very negative effect on her physiology. 'How long can I go on like this? My legs just keep getting worse... not just them either...' She thought with a downcast sigh. It was in times like these that she relied so heavily on her minds eye. She could always latch onto a spirit as a crutch to force her to move forward. But alas her ears picked up no voices of the deceased. Only faint wailing could be picked up when the wind would gust by. As her feline eyes rested on the ground under her feet she clenched at her chest harder, claws digging at her flesh. "By the ever solid earth. By the ever encapsulating sky. By the gift of breath. By the beckoning of the void. The ash of death brings us closer." She chanted to herself quietly her haywire nerves being reeled in the longer she repeated the stanza. A small mantra was all she could use to move forward.

Frail and dangerously weak muscles pushed forward through the metallic brush caked in a ash dust that seemed almost glued into the nooks. "Just what happened..? Is it like that tree that moved from Mist?" She mumbled before coming to a small realization, "So I might be dead... No. This isn't the void." She dismissed the idea as quickly as it came to her obstinate that this could never be the promised escape. The closer she got to the landmark she moved towards the more the red jelly like crystal substances stood out to her. She easily excepted the forest made entirely of metal but she was having trouble accepting that fire was captured in such a frail looking container and still burning. It was like magic, and she didn't believe in magic.... but she couldn't contain herself any longer. Gingerly she lowered her knees to the hard ground besides a tree, placing her hands just off of the warmth radiating substance. Her pupils squeezed into flat lines as her chakra began surging out from her fingers. A strained hiss escaped from her lips as crystals began forming out of the metal beneath her. it jolted forward and began carefully wrapping around a pair of jellies before totally encasing them in rock hard crystal spheres. Even through her crystal she could feel the dangerous heat radiating through. They would make nice hand warmers if she ever escaped the annoying heat of where ever she was trapped. Holding the crystal orbs in her arms she continued to trek through he forest.

It didn't take her much longer before the cat girl cleared the forest, sore feet stepping out into a clearing only to be greeted by an unmoving wall. Despair began sinking into her mind as she struggled to peer at the top of the gate that now stood in her way. "No..." She mewed barely coping with her dreams being dashed out yet again. She might not be captive to a man but now she was captive to the world. The mountain range that the gate split open vanished into the clouds above her. Even if she was in her top physical shape she would never be able to climb over it. Her claws tightened against her crystal balls in frustration. Tears stung at her eyes as she wallowed in the hopelessness of even trying to survive. The world had always wanted her dead, not even in this wild scenario did this change. As she stood weeping to herself the air around her began to shift and stir, the voices of the dead finally breaching the vale that covered her. They warned her of what lied ahead. They warned her that what she knew was correct. Death waited for the young girl forsaken to the world. Crystal balls dropped to the ground under her, rolling a few inches away before she fell to her knees. Her eyes were wide with emotion, her mouth unable to settle on an expression as the voices began to fade. The emotional pillars she had carefully built up around her psyche began to crumble behind her eyes. Panicked fingers began pulling at her bangs. Her breath became ragged once more but not out of physical exhaustion. The spirits had warned to to be quiet but she couldn't contain her voice any longer. An ear piercing wail of anguish echoed through the clearing before colliding with the gate. Her balled up hands began pounding on the ground as she tried to get all the negative emotions out of her. As she knew however... that was a never ending well. Tears just kept falling as she stared at the sky blankly, mouth adjar as her hands became still. The darkness she kept at bay began eroding at her sanity as she became a sitting duck lost in the middle of no where.

tab 'It comes!(?!)
tab The whisper skitters across your skull as the sensation of mass comes over you. Something large is above and behind, something so immense that its presence registers as the mountains. Or, at least, that is what you feel within you, yet it does not feel dangerous. In fact it feels more...neutral. A resounding thump comes from behind you that causes the earth to lurch forward, throwing you into a heap if not careful enough. A rumble, followed by a ponderous groan that resounds above. Something moves back, and out of the corner of your eyes you see a hoof come crashing down several hundred feet from you. A moment later the sides seem to unlatch and six smaller hooves, like toes, sprawl out lazily from the side and anchor into the earth beside it. The groan issues forth again as stones cascade down from further on, and above a similar thud can be heard, this time followed by crashing.
tab Above would appear an enormous beast titanic in size and alien in appearance. Each leg bore two "knees", and each seemed made from petrified wood, though hundreds of feet thick. Each "foot" bore a hoof with claws that extend upon literal steel chains to embed themselves in the stone to anchor for continued movement. But up further, where it would have blocked the sun and sky were it not for the mountains that already did so, looked to be a beast of five legs that best resembled an antelope with a crown of thorns upon its head instead of antlers. From this crown splays two wings that flutter in the breeze above, filmy and shimmering like starlight in a night sky. The beast moves ponderously, each step moving out hundreds of feet before being brought down, and it appeared to be limber enough to use the mountains above as a step in its travel.
tab Chains rattle along its length as it walks, but what might be most strange of all are the small structures that dotted its surface. If there was a particular comparison that could be made it would look like windows, doors, and turrets stuck out haphazardly upon its back, almost as if the body itself was a walking fortress given sapience.
tab As it moved forward, the earth continuing to shake, a voice whispers in your ear. "Usu'vurik, the Exalted Fortress..."
tab Watching, the light hits the body in a sudden way that lights up its surface, exposing statues and other ruins dotted about its surface where grass and plots grow. And if you didn't know better, you could swear there appears to be gold and silver object scattered all across it, too.

Liliya Yuliovna Volkov ll Mystic ll Doton :: Suiton ll Former Priestess :: E-Rank ll Shōton

The spirits of the wind spoke once again as the very air around her thickened. The voice was pleasant as if a glimmer of hope was finally arriving for the young catgirl. What followed was not what she would have expected. The gravity around her seemed to multiply at a rapid pace before a loud dull bellow echoed through the earthen crust beneath her. Her crystal balls lifted into the air momentarily from the force before another knee rattling pulse shot through the ground. Her feline ears felt as if they were being twisted and yanked on as the sound that shattered the ground rung her ears asunder with a painful volume. Because the cat was giving no resistance at all to her fate at this point by the time the second pulse of movement vibrated the ground she had face planted into a sulking pile. Despite the very earth itself being dominated by whatever was coming she felt no danger. The voice she had heard earlier too reverent for her dull emotions to spark to life with fear. Weakly she clung to her crystal balls while she attempted to roll around onto her back to see whatever it was that had come to disturb her personal pity party. Despite knowing full well she shouldn't be afraid the animal part of her brain was in complete panic. Seeing truly was believing.

Her eyes strained to even see the peak of the monstrous beast that somehow had not made itself known until a couple of valley long strides ago. Every hair on her neck stood on end as her claws dragged against the surface of her crystal balls when her grip tightened. As tears stained her cheeks once more she began praying. Her hard fought existence could be wiped off the face of the planet if that beast just happened to step where she was, or anywhere in her visual range for that matter. She was ever more small and insignificant that she thought she was. By even existing this creature had managed to swallow the remaining sky from view, it was breathtaking. Her nerves began to call down as she let the reality of her futility return to her, there was no point getting so worked up over something that seemed to radiate a calm aura of passivity. Perhapse that passivity was born from being un challenged? "... And so did the earth give way to titans of ol. Flesh of mud, blood of rivers, and soul of nature. It was then Gaia was given life anew." She recited in a trance of sorts. The longer her eyes lingered on the beast towering the mountains around her the move her heart began to race with revery. When she would teach the children about the elemental deities that guarded the astral plane she would always make something up on the spot. The gods were formless, so why would she know how it looked? Well if she ever began preaching again she would have a very vivid image of what Gaia herself looked like.

Her pupils began squeezing into thin lines as she began observing tiny structures decorating the beasts body. As if someone or something had taken up residence among it. "She lifted humanity across her back..." She began very being convinced she was witnessing divinity, "bringing forth continents to the endless oceans." Wearily she lifted her body off the the cold ground, standing with renewed vigor filling her psyche. Sure she was struggling to stay positive but for the moment she had an escape. Escaping into stricture to cope with the unimaginable scope of what was transpiring before her. The voice of nature gave her a final whisper before vanishing into the air. She took a deep breath before taking a step forward. "Usu'vurik..." She tasted the name, rolled it around in her mouth before taking another contemplative step. She had no way of catching up to a creature that could use mountains as step stools. "O Usu'vurik I beseech thee for passage! Free me from this prison of iron and stone!" She shouted with all her might, knowing just how unlikely it would be for a voice from one as small as her would be to pierce the heavens themselves that surrounded the beasts ears. The cat looked on in hope that maybe something would save her for she wasn't emotionally strong enough to continue saving herself.

tab The voices whispering in each ear were right about something: the titanic beast stopped in its enormous pace, coming to a full rest after a lumbering half start that cause rubble to fall from its body. Rubble and...water of some sort, cascading down on one side in a glistening cataract where, given the grooves, it looked to have some sort of natural waterfall in its terrain that only now began to flow. Yet stop it did, and the chains of its toes settled heavily into the earth, with the closest hoof several hundred feet away simply resting in place. There, too, it looked from this great distance that there were many grooves filled with shadow, perhaps a cave that could be entered for some semblance of safety. Whether the beast truly listened or not, this creature was definitely stopping for some reason, and as of yet had failed to displace just what that reason was.

Liliya's eyes brightened with renewed will as her prayers were answered. Even if it weren't true it seemed her tiny voice was being heard by the divine beast ahead of her. Her chest felt a warm sensation grow within, like a champion of light slaying the prince of darkness. Her negativity began to vanish from her body as faith rooted in its place. Her belief in the spirits had payed off as it always had. her eyes closed momentarily as she prayed to mother Gaia for sending her servant in Liliya's path. She bowed her body low while the beast rested in its place, causing nature to spring to life around it. To take even a glimpse of the sight was enough to fill her with joy. "My thanks o great titan Usu'vurik, I humbly give my service to thou. Though but a frail child I hope my experiences may aid thou in some way." She announced as her body lifted from its respectful bow. Her eyes turned their attention to the gate that previously trapped her between two hard places before turning them back to her savior. She took a small breath to gather her nerves before pressing forward towards the towering titan ahead of her. The sheer size of the beast proved a double edged sword, no matter how close it was to her... she was very far from it. her stride was nowhere near the titans and the light jog she was currently doing proved it. She held her crystal orbs close to her bosom as she increased her steps, heeled boots clacking on the metal soil as she neared her target.

A light sweat graced her brow as she finally arrived at the titans base. The water trickled across the toes of her boots as she stood at the invasive waterfall's base, her eyes danced across the glistening reflection it gave, the haze of water hitting the ground filling her nostrils with a serene scent. It was times like these she could be thankful for her enhanced senses. Even the overwhelming sounds of water crashing was relaxing. "Blessed mother of the lands I thank you for blessing me with the Majesty of your creations. For cradling me with your embrace of life." She offered before wading through the rushing water towards the odd stair like formation on the titans legs. Was the carved out shape natural or man made? 'I certainly hope no one caused harm to this being.' She thought on aside as she lifted her body out of the torrent of the waterfall out onto the stone like staircase. It was an odd feeling climbing on the titans leg. Even the slightest movement of the being could throw her off and to her doom, yet she felt no fear. The mere opportunity of what she was doing filled her with peace. It wasn't long before she spotted a cave like entrance. 'Curiosity killed the cat.' She joked at her expense before resolving to enter.

tab Silence was difficult to find inside of a cave, and most especially when that cave is a spiral staircase that leads up into what looks to be an unending darkness. Of all things the inside of the leg seemed quite hollow, with several tends of feet of stone between you and the exit. Each step echoes up the shaft above you, leading you on ever further no matter the speed you utilize. The scent of mildew and fresh grass fills the stairway, easily able to be traversed three abreast with room to spare, and the stone, ancient, seemed more grown into position and shape than carved by mortal hands. The very air seems charged with energy that only builds the further up you go, and you are forced to walk careefully in places as you find lichen and other green or purple fungus upon the steps. For several tens of minutes you walk, the ambient light somehow never waning despite the length of time and the depth into the leg you strode, yet it was due to this light that you see the shadows above alter as you near a natural entrance in the stone above.
tab A doorway, perhaps.

Liliya Yuliovna Volkov ll Mystic ll Doton :: Suiton ll Former Priestess :: E-Rank ll Shōton

Liliya struggled to maintain focus at first, it was jarring having the sounds of the earth surrounding her. This titan's very existence brought sounds of earth plates cracking, dust falling, and rocks tumbling just by standing still. It was all very overwhelming for her heightened hearing. Her feline ears folded downwards in an attempt to deafen the constant sounds to no avail. She however slowly began to get used to being inside the titan. The higher she climbed the more she stopped caring about such trivial notions as sore ears or possible hearing damage, so trivial. Instead she focused more on what she could see. Despite the natural lighting brought on by large fungal structures lining the beasts leg, it was still pretty dim. Thanks to her science bastardized eyes she could still see better than most people likely could. This proven by the fact that not once had she tripped on the rather damp stone like stairs paving her path upwards into the unknown. Hoisting both of her warm crystal orbs into one arm she used her new found freedom to drag her fingers gently against the stone walls. It was smooth, no chips no sign of human folly, almost as if it had been eroded by water over centuries of simple existence. "Marvelous, simply marvelous! Such a pure creature you are Usu'vurik. Constantly I remain in awe." She gushed, letting her hand drop from the wall as she basked in the once in a life time experience she was given. The higher she managed to climb on the spiral structure the more the hairs on her neck began to stand on end. The air was thick with... something. A pressure of sorts she hadn't experienced in her life. The air itself was filled with some kind of unseen energy perhaps being generated by the fungus that birthed the dim light around her.

She halted in place to catch her breath. She wanted nothing more than to explore this titan of Gaia but her legs were sore beyond belief. Perhaps if she hadn't been regressed so far back this mountain of stairs might not of been an issue, perhaps. 'I should be thankful I was made this young, not any younger... I woulda' been done for in that prison. Bright side Liliya! What would the other priests say if they saw you letting the negativity get to you!?' She berated herself, grimacing at the idea of being scolded by the previous monastery head again, 'You worked hard to take control of yer life. Don't let this setback take it all away.' Her eyes softened, the edge of being in the harsh wilderness began fading as a sense of belonging took its place. There was a reason she was brought before one of Gaia's emissaries. Maybe the big ol mountain needed a priestess! The idea of helping heal people's souls again filled her chest with warmth. A small smile graced her lips as she continued her climb into the unknown. For what felt like forever she climbed. Heeled boots sinking into soft moss before clacking on hard stone. The voices on the wind remained silent at the very least muted by the voices of the earth. She wondered what kind of spirits would find their home inside the titans limbs. Would they be like the ever changing spirits of the wind or would they take a more 'grounded' shape. Her thoughts of small little mud bunnies was cut short as the staircase seemed to reach an end. A foreboding doorway now barred her path. "Blessed mother of the lands. Shield me as I dive into the world. Guide me across the familial plains of life. Take me into your loving arms as I embark into my unknown life. Gaia's will take me." Taking a small breath with her prayer. She focused on the ground and continued stepping up the last couple stairs before crossing the threshold into the abyss. Her eyes began scanning through the darkness as her hand hovered over her side arm just in case.

tab It wasn't long at all before you find yourself before a door of magnificent gold, silver, and mother of pearl. An iridescent sheen was obvious at a glance, reflecting the light from the moss around you in ways that produced a nearly perfect natural kaleidoscopic effect. Yet it wasn't this color that brought your attention to it but the design instead, inlaid with sparkling sapphires and emeralds. Twin gates, taller than two men standing atop each other and wider than three abreast, each closed tight by enormous hands that seem skeletal in some fashion. One, however, is merely in the shape of bones but made of sparkling waves of water, but the other is made of some green gas. The amount of work, let alone the fortune invested, was on a scale likely unheard of by anything else in your time, even the temple, but the icing on the cake was that an enormous chain engraved in platinum lay just at your head height, and there it looks like a keyhole lay. Though this hole also had a hand print beside it, perfectly proportioned for that of a small maiden's.
tab The gemstones of the two arms glisten in your eyes as a question forms within your mind, unbidden, though somehow with your own voice. 'Do you accept?'

Lilya's stained eyes couldn't see anything but the empty walls of a long hallway. With no hostile presences to be seen in the abyss of darkness she returned to a relaxed stance, her hand leaving the small blades handle. She let out the breath she didn't know she was holding while placing her now freed hand against the wall for support. While the she wouldn't have too much trouble seeing in such a low light environment she would prefer not to continue straining her eyes to do so. Dry eye is a b***h. Even without forcing her chimeric sight, the bio-luminescent moss growths provided enough light top prevent her from tripping over herself. However even in the darkness she could always see something glittering off in the distance. It was a queer sight to behold. Like looking at the northern lights through thick and heavy fog. What this brilliant light show was turned out to be a large door made of minerals she had never seen before. A metallic mixture of precious metals and jewels. The design however was the most interesting choice by whoever created it. To say it made her humble monastery look like the poor house would be an understatement. She had an odd feeling of embarrassment. Like she wasn't worthy to be so close to the fantastical door. Her thoughts were however pushed aside as voices once again filled her ears without sound being present. "This must be a test..." She mumbled to herself. Without even thinking about all the possible ways this could go horribly wrong she just placed her hand on the indent. Her eyes widened while her ears perked up. Her body had just moved on its own. Or perhaps... this was what she was going to do anyways, her faith had been tested many times. Her soul was always ready to prove her faith in the gods. So maybe her body knew what her brain had yet to reach. Chicken bumps covered her skin as she waited in anticipation. "I accept!!" She shouted, perhaps a bit too loud, she had no regrets for her unthought actions.

For what seemed like eternity, but at the same time no time at all, Yanko floated in darkness. All is at peace, at rest in the comforting embrace of the abyss, until a crack splits the air, resounding in the nothingness. With it came light and heat as it slowly spider-webbed outward. Then it shattered altogether and he was released from his prison, where he fell to the dry earth, strength not immediately returning to his limbs. This weakness would only last a brief moment before he was filled with energy that could have kept him going for what felt like days, fulling rested and at his prime.

Yanko likely first became aware of the nearly unbearable heat that could be physically seen wafting from the bare-bone trees before him. Strangely enough, though, a fruit that glowed a steady red hung heavy from the branches. Behind him, a titanic gate sat between natural mountains, locked tightly to keep everyone out. Or perhaps to keep something in. The mountains rose sharply into a red sky stained with soot.

In whatever void of existence Yanko was in... or lack of existence... it was when the memories of what made him for who he was that slowly brought the youth to holding the memory of Yanko Lewes. Happy memories of a time when his nomadic family took time to enjoy the hard work that they held before the world essentially fell -- or as the elders would like to state -- succumbed to the chaos that was already there. But to them, during the moments of calm, there was nothing like the peaceful times beside a fire with the sounds of tambourines smacking rhythmically against the palms while the golden bangles and series of trinkets provided a delightful addition to the upbeat. All before the rest of the family came in with their own selective musical instruments to bring about a harmony that makes you want to do nothing but dance. To enjoy the moments of calm. Laughter. And happiness. The kind of freedom that has you do nothing but get lost in the music and dance the night away.

But just as this void seemed to manifest the existence of Yanko, it was the when he was released from this limbo did the feelings of elated bliss snap him out of memories of the past, so that he may live within the present; no matter how tumultuous the present was. As if the "creator" that had "destroyed" Yanko, brought him back with a sense of twisted humor. Yanko hit the ground in a rather... ungraceful fashion. To be rudely removed from the comfort of the dream state to be brought into a place that most would describe to be quite closely related to a certain level within the underworld, it was when the strength returned life to his body did he slowly lift himself off the warm, dry, hardened earth bringing movement to the youthful male.

As the emerald green hoodie dropped from his face, it would reveal a young adolescent whose skin was loved by the sun, with mess of warm, dark brown hair that wildly laid about the shoulders. From the parts of the hair that wasn't framing the face, would intricately pierced golden ears be modestly shown. Mimicking the series of gold that lightly adorned, what one could see from the baggy garments that were upon him. Dirtied only from his fall to the earth, but in general rather clean. Hinting that these weren't his clothes originally. Hand-me downs of his older brothers in fact. An oversized green padded jacket over a yellow shirt, and baggy black pants.

Slowly the figure that was spat out of whatever existence to come into this blanket of heat that reminded him of the venomous heat of the Desert Country, Yanko slowly put the strength that came back to his revitalized muscles to bring himself back to his feet. Slowly at first, to avoid the light-headed feeling of shooting up after awakening in a daze, until he stood tall and could look around this barren, dilapidated world that he was put into. His piercing emerald eyes that would have matched the faded jacket -- something that he began to take off to tie around his waist to avoid overheating -- would look around his surroundings carefully. Normally, a child would be on the brink of panic in such situations. And truth be told, having the dream that he had to then appear in what was an essential Hell, made his heart skip a few beats. Made more questions of what was happening, why was it happening, and where was his family to initially flood his mind. But as the "voice" returned the memories of who he was and his past with his family... the panic and tears that would have fallen from those eyes of Yanko had long since dried up; almost a perfect representation of where he stood now. The sights and landscape, brought vague memories to Yanko, but... he couldn't quite put his finger upon it. The main thing that Yanko knew, was that if he was going to be surviving this terrain long enough to know where he was, he would need to have nutrition first. The strength in his limbs could only go so far, and if those heavy hanging fruits held any form of edibility... maybe that could provide enough substance for him to make survival.

_______________Another Awakening... ||
tab Each step took him closer towards the tree fruits, yet each step, too, increased the heat by degrees. It was hot and getting hotter, yet it was shady, at least, with no cloud cover or...sky...for that matter. Perhaps it would be explained as something above moved, and a mountain face nearby shifted, revealing that it was, in fact, a leg of titanic proportions. And that which blocked the sun? It's body, though from this distance it was difficult to see make out all but the basest of details, in that it was body shaped, craggy, with chains and stones dangling from a gargantuan form. Yet if that did not draw his attention perhaps it would be the glowing woods that lay before him. The fruits as he'd seen hung from trees whose outlines seemed to fuzz in his sight, perhaps distorted by the waves of heat that poured from their surfaces or the earth around them. With the sky dark from the ash and smoke that perpetually flowed, casting the world in a form of twilight, the ruddy glow of the fruits were readily visible as not only dangling from the trees but seemingly attached along the trunks and branches.
tab Whether or not he witnessed the gleam from the trees as the light refracted from them would be difficult to discern.

_______________The Narrator Whispers... ||
tab At first nothing happened as the world fell still around her. The groaning of the beast, the echoes of her voice, even the air itself seemed to still just as her hand touched the imprint, snugly hugging her hand as if forged centuries ago with her in mind. A moment more passed before a resounding crash echoed somewhere deep within the fortress, followed by the noise of grinding as the doors rumbled beneath her hand. Somewhere in the distance an ethereal wail began, a hushed whisper that became a gail as the stairwell she had just ascended burst alight with eldritch fire that burned purple and green in alternating shades. Up it went, spiraling as the air around the feline priestess dimmed, a low hum vibrating her bones and rattling her teeth as the doors she touched began to open.
tab Yet with a screaming clang the doors stopped just wide enough to allow her to peer within, if she so desired. Yet the halls were dark, and the howls remained, and something in the darkness seemed to see her in her totality. Something that gave off the dark, terrifying impression that it not only saw her, but knew her, and was filled with disgust at her. Yet likewise there were feelings of hope, despair, joy and hatred from all directions, all sides in the darkness.
tab Something within the doors slammed against them, causing the metal to ring like a gong. There, in the darkness, a figure with eyes that glittered like emeralds pressed their face against the crack, his expression pale, wide eyed, with nostrils flared as he pressed against something that seemed to be dragging him back into the shadows behind. English words, in a voice thick with emotion, came from him as he fought to speak. "Find Shadow! Find them all! The ways are shut, you must free them! Brave the darkness, for it sees you, and knows your name! Now run! Before it's too late!" With a scream of pain the figure was dragged out, kicking and screaming, before a muffled boom rings out from behind her.
tab Should she look she would find a swirling vortex of black and white light, and through it a machine made up of equal parts metal and plant. A boy with ears like a cat seemed enamored with something out of sight, ignoring the serpents slithering around behind him that seemed to have segmented legs and the head of a hound from what she could see. Were he not to turn, and turn quickly, the two would be upon him momentarily.
