Heathersong started slightly as the other spoke to her, but covered while straightening her posture. Oh goodness, that's right wasn't it? She had intended to stay here because she lacked confidence in her ability to be any use, yet if anything went wrong there, that left responsibility for the camp on her poor shoulders!

Well, hers and the others who had stayed behind, she supposed, only relaxing slightly. "Oh, yes, of course!" She focused her gaze in the direction the others had disappeared. After a few moments, she asked, "What do you think is happening out there?"

Riverclan Border

Catching Cindergaze's gesture, Wildstripe slipped out of the main grouping of cats and moved down along the border after her. He settled on his haunches well on the Riverclan side of the border, glancing back at the raised voices as he answered. "I'm faring well enough, considering. Current circumstances aside. How about you? You look well." He glanced back to her at this point, the ghost of a smile touching his muzzle.

"Do you think perhaps--?" Wildstripe's question was cut short by Flamedapple's screech and he whirled to face the conflict as it erupted. Though he was careful to stay on the Riverclan side, as that was what had started all this craziness, he dropped into a protective stance a couple steps closer than Cindergaze to the fighting. He was concerned that the hostilities had broken but was actually somewhat relieved (as horrible as that sounded) to more that the target was the odd loner and that Lightning and River had turned on him as one. Wildstripe wasnt pushing for violence, but at least the clans weren't yet at each others' throats.

With a deep sigh, Wildstripe muttered, "Forestclan give us strength..." as he slapped a paw lightly to his muzzle in exasperation.

"Then you come back..... and I will show you how wrong... you are!" she hissed again, struggling to keep from attacking someone else, however the fact that Split kept focusing solely on her made it a bit easier. Keeping him close ensured more wounds but it also meant that he was still right there, perfectly in her teeth and claw range. Her attacks never seemed to falter.

Honeyfur watched as the loner declared that the clans shouldn't have the kit. Rather, the kit should return with the loner. Honeyfur saw that logical, but some other clan cats did not.

However, he didn't enjoy the nasty words some were spitting out. Honeyfur jumped in, wanting to protect the loner. The clan cats wouldn't dare to attack a medicine cat, right? But his reaction was too slow, and one by one, clan cats started to attack the loner. Honeyfur wanted to scream. It was not right. It was not fair. The loner was just expressing his concern for the kit. Who was clearly a loner too. It did not belong to Lightningclan, nor Riverclan, and Honeyfur truly believed the loner would be able to find its parents, if they were around.


But then Brightstar declared that the kitten should not go with the loner. Riverclan. He couldn't believe his own ears. Sure, Riverclan found the kitten first, but that was like saying a twoleg should keep a clan cat because they found them injured before their clanmates did. No. The clan cat should stay with the clan. It didn't matter who found who first. It mattered where one belonged.

Oof. Another cat was on him. Split was fairly certain he was bleeding at this point in multiple places. With both clans on him, his rage was quickly turning to instinct for survival. He kicked away from the she-cat only to be hit again and tumble over.

"Best watch your boarders." Split said as he panted. "If you wander off, to find the kittens family or otherwise, I will be waiting." He threatened as he scrambled away from the cats towards the unclaimed woods. Most of the cats probably couldn't even hear him, but he knew the she-cat would. Knowing that they wouldn't just let him leave, that someone would try to peruse him, Split ran as fast as he could, knocking off any attack and just kept running for the wilds he was familiar with.

Ravensnatch had been ready to spring into the battle when Timberfall about bowled him over and almost the majority of Riverclan went after the loner as well. He winced as the tom focused so heavily on Flamedapple but his sorry for her only felt so deep. Despite Petalnose needing a stern talking too, to have it come from another clan cat? Still.

He had a mind to now sit it out and wait when he saw Honeyfur leap into the battle and despite his efforts, try to defend the loner. Fur bristling, the tom cat felt his paws quickly carrying him over towards Lightningclan's med cat, eyes narrowed, ears alert, claws still sheathed for now however. "Honeyfur, tell me you are not doing what I think you are doing?" the gruff cat spoke, hoping the cat would have a reasonable explanation for this. "Defending a loner? Where do your loyalties lie?"

Cindergaze beamed at his words, “I am doing well. Things have been particularly interesting…” she side eyed the commotion before looking back at him. “Thank you for noticing.” She paused a moment in order to catch what was being talked about. She shook her head sadly. What a mess indeed. Perhaps she should have stayed back with the Queens and kits. This felt like such a waste of time.

Then again. She turned her eyes back to the male who had taken a protective stance between her and the commotion. She couldn’t complain to the interaction she was receiving then. She waited a moment, watching cats tear into each other, before looking back at him. “Are you inviting me to get away with you?” she purred. “I’d think it would be much more interesting than this.” She winked playfully at him.

“I wish the loner would just give up. Brightstar has offered the kit to Riverclan. They should take it and we should all leave.” She’d love more time with him, but the last thing she wanted was to have to fight his clanmates. Though they had all left on peaceful terms, everything leading up to this moment had been so awkward. She just knew this had made relations even more strained. Her ears perked suddenly and she felt her fur bristling.

“Seems our medicine cat isn’t so loyal as we thought.” She hissed softly under her breath. She silently cheered Ravensnatch on as he called the med cat out. She sighed heavily. “This just keeps getting worse…” What was going on with Lightningclan and its flaky cats? Where was the loyalty?

Petalnose was just confused as cat after cat had yelled and chastised him. Even the leader! He had started to fear the worst as the leader snarled at him, though he would take any attack or word she threw with silence and no retaliation, trying to prove his loyalty. Before he could do so, though, Timberfall had knocked him down and the tom was standing over him. He barely had time to register this before every cat, or that's how HE saw it, was flinging at the loner and snarking, including Timberfall! He was frozen to the spot, watching the scene unfold and hoping the tomcat would be alright.

Open hostilities! How exciting! Shadedancer had begun pacing back and forth with swift, clipped movements, eyes locked on the battle. She could feel her blood pumping, her claws flexed, eager to be used. She was like a spring, coiled and ready to release the pent-up energy.

The order from Brightstar was all she needed to leap forward with a growl. Was that...from her? It sounded positively feral! How wonderful! Unfortunately for her, it seemed the loner had already had enough from the clan cats on both sides and turned to flee. No! Shade had wanted a piece! Her claws seeking fur and flesh, she dug them into the soil as she skidded to a halt in the loner's wake. The flustered maine coon was a sight, fur disheveled and her fangs bared with a growl at the fleeing coward. So much for seeing what she could do or what she had learned...but the day was not yet done.

Honeyfur gave out a short sigh of relief as the loner fled the scene, but that did not mean he was safe. There were serious wounds, and the clan cats were still pretty heated at everything. Ravensnatch approached him, and the medicine cat held his cool, not wanting to show any fear. Honeyfur didn't know how to fight, but he knew how to use tooth and claw if he was going to be accused of his loyalties!

"Lightningclan, of course," he said, keeping his eyes on the warrior. "The loner was clearly outnumbered, as foxbrained as he was to intervene with us, one against three, even five, isn't a pretty outcome."

He huffed. "It's my job to make sure that all cats are well and healthy. Never would I wish the worse of anyone, regardless of being in Lightningclan or not. The medicine cat code even states that all cats should be healed with the same quality."

Ravensnatch sighed and shook his head. "But Warrior code says your loyalty must be to your clan first. And he asked for it the moment he set paw in either of our territories. By leaping in even just trying to protect that loner......" his words trailed off and he shook his head then sat down, curling his tail over his paws. He felt Honeyfur meant well but perhaps was going about it the wrong way. But then again, he was a warrior, what did he know of the medicine cat code. He only knew the code warriors followed and their first rule was putting the clan above all. "You are an important cat to the clan Honeyfur.... just don't want to see you go down the wrong path." his ears flattened a bit, his features disappointed, but he still kept his claws sheathed.

Cracklestreak sat back and watched with much amusement and a slight annoyance at having his grooming time cut short. It seems that the leaders are discussing who the kit should belong to. "Ah, such a small thing with so much potential to cause more rifts..." he muttered under his breath.

Watching a loner appear did make his fur stand on end though, but as long as this tom does not bump into him, all will be good. Licking his paw, Cracklestreak continue to observe the scene unfold, with cats fighting off the Loner and... 'Well, well, well...' he thought as Brightstar decided which clan will have the kit. 'Never have I seen that she will concede so easily, giving the kit to Riverclan..' Amused, he huffed a little and eyed the Loner who retreated before turning back to the main gathering, keen on seeing what happens next.

"Loyalty is a fickle thing, is it not..." he mused upon seeing the Med cat and what the cat was about to do.
