tabWhy’d that one stop dividing…? Mina thought as she refused to take her eyes off of the Bijuu Wolf. The mass of shadow bubbled like a boiling pot as it grew and grew to even monstrous sizes, dwarfing Mina and the other Genin like ants. The red head looked up at it with more curiosity than a rational amount of fear. Even before the wolf stopped growing the Genin had already started walking towards it with intent to examine the monster. Mina was so hypnotized that the girl wasn’t even paying attention to the world around her anymore, ignoring the giant fuuin on the ground, or the other various noises of combat. As she walked the shield of iron disintegrated into black sand and followed her as she walked, defying all laws of physics as it sifted back into her gourds. Mina cupped her chin with her forefinger and thumb as she replayed some of the events.
Kotori and Chosuke easily dispatched the smaller wolves, so they weren’t very durable. Even this big one seemed like it was gonna go down to the weird shark lady really easy. But it wasn’t until Mina attacked did it do… that. “If fire made it expand like that, does that mean it’s a weakness?..” She started to mutter to herself, looking thoughtfully at the wolf like she was reading a book. “But it’s not dead, just blown up real big…” While she was muttering, those that knew her would notice she wasn’t her usual bubbly self. She was pacing around the wolf, mumbling to herself. “Does that mean it's actually filled with gas? That would make sense, sort of. But it can only get so big…” Mina wanted to poke the enlarged shadow being just to see what would happen, but without enough data she didn’t want to risk a chain reaction. But she wanted to-needed- to find out.
It took someone calling her red head to snap her back to the world of the living. Mina turned and was immediately greeted by a could of boys, both were wearing the same color collar as she was. Once Mina figured out they were supposed to be on the same squad, the almost creepily analytical expression on her face changed to a bright beaming grin. Like a switch had been hit and Mina was back to her trademark self. “Oh, hey! Sorry about not coming to find you guys sooner!” She stuck her tongue out and rubbed the back of her head with embarrassment, chuckling. “My name’s Minashiba Takatsuki, but everyone just calls me Mina!” A rabbit boy (whom she didn’t recognize) and a swordsman (Rei she assumed) seemed to be her squad mates. Not that she was complaining, but the Genin had hoped her training squad wouldn’t be separated. “Yeah, leaving sounds like a good idea! I don’t wanna be here if this thing decides to go kaboom! There’s just something I want to do, though…”
Once again her expression became eerily thoughtful as she faced the beast, making a single crossing handsign. With an effort of will and a poof of smoke, three more clones of Mina appeared in front of her, facing the girl. The four Mina’s made more signs in unison before slamming their palms to the ground. The ground shook as their chakra formed the earth into a massive cylindrical wall of rock, five hundred and forty feet tall and one thousand and eight feet wide. It surrounded the three Mina clones and the Bijuu Wolf before Mina turned to her group. “Alright, let’s go!” She beamed. As she was about to run into the forest, the red head turned to face Kotori, Inohachi, and Shikarie. “Good luck you guys! See ya at the finish line~!’ She winked before running off.
On the other side of the massive stone wall, the three Mina clones turned back to face the wolf. Their plan was simple: experiment. So all at once, three made a string of seals with their hands. Then they inhaled, reeling back, before letting all the chakra infused air out at once. A massive stream of fire erupted from their mouths, continually burning at the massive wolf!
Shadow Clone Technique [ Kage Bunshin no Jutsu ] | Rank B Creates a solid clone which is able to interact with the environment and perform any technique the user knows. The strength of each clone is dependent on the amount of chakra put into each clone. A clone can have anywhere from [1] chakra to all but [1] chakra of the user's pool. The same goes for stamina. The user must retain at least [1] of each pool or they will lose consciousness. Each clone takes [15] chakra to create, and up to three [3] clones can be made per activation. Shadow clones cannot be told apart by doujutsu. The clone disperses if it receives a solid hit (C-rank or higher), or runs out of chakra or stamina. When a clone is dispersed, any knowledge it gained while active is transferred to the original only, no other clones, and any remaining chakra and stamina is returned to the user. Dragon Fire Technique [ Ryuuka no Jutsu ] | Rank C A technique with two variants. The first of which requires it to be used in combination with a Basic Combat Art or other technique that snares the target with steel wire. This variant allows the user to expel flames that use the wire as a guide, traveling along it and engulfing the target snared, causing tier two burning and burns on contact. The alternative variant allows the user to expel a stream of fire up to thirty feet in length at a target, causing tier two burns and burning. The user is able to hold a hand sign and continue to breath fire out in this manner for an upkeep cost of ten chakra per post, requiring no activation past it's first post for both variants. Additionally, if a target has the technique continuously burning them for two posts or more, the burn and burning status are elevated to tier three.
• The user's fire based techniques are highly pressurized, doubling in size and range while adding a knock back effect of five feet per rank of the parent technique. If the parent technique already produces a knock back effect the user's fire technique gives a knock back of ten feet per rank.
• Armor Penetrating Shot | The user's fire based techniques ( including clan techniques ) have a volatile force behind them. Any katon technique with a single target has the ability to shatter armor medium tier and below on contact while heavy armor takes two instances of contact. Additionally, they are able to puncture shield techniques and barriers with equal chakra to the parent technique as though they were one rank lower.
"No..." words would form through the telepathic connection between Yashima and his team as Seika asked if he was alright. While pain wracked his body, he had to move along anyways. Somewhat glad his training within his family was as harsh as it was. Of course also not being excited that he was put in a situation where he had to even think for a moment 'They were right' about his family. Regardless, he was very clearly phased by whatever seal the girl had used that spread through the battle field. Only knowing such a thing based on some...minor bits of knowledge about this....and that he could basically hear the chakra expand from the female anyways. 'That's not fun or nice....' He could feel his body tiring, chakra draining...and the worst part about it was that there really wasn't much he could do about it. Why was such a strong thing usable here at an exam for genin? He was aware he just started his ninja journey but he didn't think there'd be a gap like that....He had to continue on with his movement. Through the ground still.
Of course the sensory information he began to receive from one of his teammates somewhat alarmed him...burning? Fire? What was this...It was only confusing because he himself couldn't pick up on fire...it was just from the sensory information associated with Sumika...even Seika's seemed normal to him. Genjutsu? Of course however before he could even give warning of it....the woman had already figured it out. Hopefully their connection was helpful to her for that purpose...after all that was mostly what he wanted anyways. Just to be helpful to his team. Continuing onwards through the ground below the forest still utilizing his mayfly technique to keep away from most of the dangers above.

Inohachi was scared of Kotori. The smile was full of confidence as it seemed to make Inohachi feel smaller. Then Shikarie appeared. Then the meanie sharkie girlie. Shikarie went ahead and started to discuss plans and that helped. It took the spotlight away from Inohachi and hearing orders/someone bossing her around seemed to help calm down the Yamanaka a bit. She very so much like the idea of them keeping the distance and let the two take the wolves head-on. With a soft nod, she wanted to show that she agreed with Shikarie with the idea, forgetting about her technique until Shikarie brought it up.
"Oh!" With that, she focused her chakra to her fingertips as she poked each of their foreheads, starting with Shikarie and then Kotori. As she stood in front of the meanie sharkie girlie, she was a bit nervous and trembling. Surely she wouldn't do anything!? Would she? Faster than you can blink, the tanned female poked the shark's female head and went to stand between Kotori and Shikarie.
Then whoosh. A really big fire. That..was not a good idea.

That Mina would raise a wall intrigued Rei, but he only raised an eyebrow and said nothing on the matter. Curiosity killed the cat, and he certainly was no cat. Whatever this girl wanted to experiment on, that was her business. His was only to lie down and "enjoy the exams" as his cousin had put it.
Though, he wasn't sure if this experience could be considered enjoyable in the least.
With an "Mm" of assent, Rei nodded to Coello's question. Yes, they could go now. Mina got a head start, but Rei wasn't far behind her, sheathing his sword before running after. If Coello hadn't already sprung into an escape at the first signs of retreat, then Rei was sure that the bunny boy would keep up with them just fine.
Mina's thoughtful expression from earlier had not escaped Rei. If prodded to, or perhaps if interested enough, she was clearly someone would could break down a situation and come to a decision in a short amount of time, even amidst chaos. However, if her demeanor now, and how quickly she had shifted to it, said anything, then she probably preferred being light-hearted and cheery. She knew how to think her way around a fight, and she had the literal muscle to back it up.
Then there was the bunny boy, who looked timid and as fragile as glass. Though, Rei knew better than to use that to gauge the strength of a ninja. The shaking of the other was palpable, even through his own shaking, but shaking could be imitated and pretended. Personally, Rei found it hard to believe that someone so blatantly nervous and scared could even make it into the chuunin exams. Wouldn't such an extreme temperament be a big sign already that they were unfit to be a shinobi? Much less advance to chuunin? Hence, he figured it was some sort of act. Whatever the case, what he had seen for certain was Coello making a dog disappear. Some sort of advanced fuuinjutsu that could seal even living creatures? From what little he understood of seals, he was under the impression that such techniques were rare.
At least... that was his amateur read of what little he had seen of both teammates? He wasn't sure. He was always being told that reading an accurate first impression was an invaluable tool for a shinobi, but such a thing was far easier said than done.
Seeing as it didn't look like either of his teammates would be making any concrete statements on team formation, Rei spoke up, "We should travel in a line formation. Mina, you seem the physically strongest out of all of us. Could you take point? I'll take rear so Coello can be protected in the middle." Even as he spoke, he adjusted his movements to gradually fall right behind Coello. [2/3 Enhancing Song]

__ When the last member of their team joined the rest of her in the tree with Inohachi and Thresher, Kotori just smiled even more. The tree was getting a little crowded, but that was just all the more fun, right? She remembered the training session with two of them, even though they weren't really much for the punching and kicking like her. Thresher seemed to be a pretty good fighter though, and clearly Shikarie was super smart since she already figured all of that out and probably more. The Nara's suggestion to take to the front line was so very much agreeable to Kotori once the mega wolf monster appeared into the fight. "Kotori will show Masato-sensei how strong she REALLY is!" However, just as she was about to get pumped enough to tap the next of her Hachimon, Inohachi followed her own orders and telepathically linked the kunoichi quartet. Kotori rubbed her forehead a little. She was more surprised at how gentle Inohachi had been about it than anything else. While in the midst of rubbing her forehead Inohachi suddenly grabbed her and Shikarie away from the fight instead. "Wha?! Wait! But Kotori wanted to fight the biggest wolfie monster!!" She cried as she was dragged out of the tree and deeper into the parts of the forest that probably hadn't yet caught fire. Sure, Kotori probably could have EASILY broken away from her teammate's grip, but even she could tell that Inohachi was pretty skittish by this point. Shikarie had the right idea for their plan of attack, but their whole team wasn't quite on board with that plan. 'Maybe there's even stronger stuff in the forest? That'd be neat too!' Kotori finished her thought and just followed Inohachi for now. "Keep up girls! Or else Kotori is gonna beat up all the monsters in the forest first!" She'd pull ahead of Inohachi, even after closing the Gate of Opening, and audaciously lead the charge into the forest with her Byakugan guiding her way. Kotori was determined to find the strongest monsters and people in the forest to defeat them with her mighty fists in honor of Masato-sensei! Having been focused on her dojutsu, she almost didn't actually notice the sun turning back on entirely. That was probably a good thing for everyone else. Now the other participants couldn't complain that they weren't able to see her when she came to punch them too. Was this even a battle royale? Probably not, but Kotori wasn't really listening when the Hokage was talking. What difference did it make anyway? She was here to see how strong she was, and if she was strong enough to be a chunin then that was all the better.

Jack in the chatterbox kept on chattering, "Aw shucks! I think you're overestimating us leaf folk! We've been around for, what? About five years? We ain't that special." She wasn't moving nearly as deftly as her partner was, but she kept pace nonetheless. With jumps and the occasional assistance of her hands when she couldn't get her feet on the branch, Jack followed quite well. It seemed she even noticed the greeting bow Hasaki gave her, shinto-style, easy to miss in all of the tumbles and flips she managed to get through. Right before Hasaki flipped back forwards after giving her greeting, Jack would nod and copy her Shinto-style bow to reciprocate. She wasn't religious, but she was one to respect the views and customs of others.
From behind, the white-haired jack of all trades nodded along with everything Hasaki said like an eager puppy. "Uhuh. Uhuh. Oh really?!" were the sorts of comments she made in reaction to what the other girl said. Evidently, this hyperactive chick really couldn't stay quiet for more than five seconds if she was in the presence of someone she could talk with. Obviously, of course, such an attentive listener got everything said, and was sure to focus on the most important part of it all.
"Wah! So would you say that I'm around your height?" Jack asked, forgetting herself and her position to eagerly pick up her pace so that she was running alongside Hasaki. Looking head on at the girl, she asked again, "I don't think you're all that much taller than me, so what do you say?~". She even had the gall to wink, which was very quickly "punished" when her lack of attention at where she was going landed her with a branch to her head.
"Yeowch!"
Fear not, however. Despite the rather pitiful yelp of pain, Jack was down for only a second. She didn't even fall to the ground. Before she was too far gone, she grabbed onto the offensive branch with a hand and pulled herself towards it. She recovered in a blur of silver and black, transitioning from pulling her to the branch to somersaulting over it, landing on her feet on the next available branch, and quickly catching up. With a growing red bump on the side of her head, Jack resumed with the running conversation.
Knocked to her senses, so to speak, Jack started talking about the actual exams with a sheepish smile, "Ah, right, focusing on the exams." The 33 tattoos on Hasaki's body were interesting and all--and she would love to see them all one day--but some very important things had been said by the talking ferret. "Understood, Miss Ferret!" Jack enthusiastically indicated that she had heard, "I'll do my best to keep in formation, then!". Even before saying as such, she had already actively moved to maintain formation back when she had hit her head. Despite almost being knocked to the ground, she'd gotten back to moving so quickly exactly so that she would remain ahead of the defender ferret guarding the rear.
Turning to Hasaki, Jack had to shake her head and refuse the offer of gifts, if only for for now. "I would love to have the blessing from a lovely miko such as yourself," the girl admitted, hair waving in front of a sad smile before she brushed it behind her ear with a hand, "but before I accept anything, I need you to promise me that you aren't giving anything that will tamper with my mind, whether it be reading it or manipulating it. I hate to be this person, but I hope you can understand."
Regarding the change in direction earlier, the genin, despite seeming so ditzy, had noticed it. She simply didn't see fit to ask about it. Hasaki seemed to know what she was doing, and honestly speaking, Jack was just content with getting to follow her around.

tabKujaku could only stare in awe as both of her teammates worked in tandem to destroy the shadow wolves. Seeing Miyuki handle ink as a weapon was extraordinary! And the timing for her jutsu in order for Chosuke to land the final blow looked as if the two had been practicing for years! And Chosuke, the way he defended the blue haired girl from the nauseating wave with just his own strength, and that he took the time to defend her at all, still left Kujaku a little flustered. He really is strong… He even created such a large ravine… wait.. She was just glad that he seemed okay. But, from her sitting position in the tree, Kujaku was silently appreciative that she was paired with the more cooperative members of the group. “I would love to come visit Arashi!” Kujaku immediately perked up at the name of the flying village. “It’s up in the sky right? I’d love to learn about the jutsu formula keeping it afloat! It’s probably super complex!” The normally quiet girl was suddenly outspoken, rising to her feet and staring at Miyuki with stars in her eyes. Kujaku followed Miyuki down to the star but didn’t contest her taking it. While the blue haired Genin was curious, she figured she’d find out eventually what it was. So instead she went to examine the ravine Chosuke made. At a closer look, it definitely was way too big for him to have made, even with as girthy as his arm had been. She knelt down and looked deep into the shadows, her expression thoughtful. Kujaku’s ears perked at the mention of sensory skills. “I’m… not sure about the Hokage. I’ve only been living in Konoha for a couple of years.” She answered with a moment of hesitation, without rising from her crouching position. “But for sensory I think I do have… something. Please be patient…” Kujaku closed her eyes and rose to her feet, taking in a long and deep breath of air. Without any sensory abilities of their own, Miyuki and Chosuke probably wouldn’t notice just what she was doing. However, as Kujaku focused, the girl could feel Nature Chakra start to flow through her. In the time span of just a few seconds, the girl’s body had shifted into the form of the Salamander Sage Mode. “This should be able to give us a heads up from danger, I think.” She said once she re-opened her eyes.

Now That’s how ya take s**t on!” She grinned a wild, toothy grin and pumped her fist as she replaced her sword onto her back. There was no way in hell she was gonna let some little Konoha brat outshine her in her own group. “Speakin’ of group…” she mumbled, scanning the mass of chaos for anyone else with matching collars. Little Bird and… “Great…” Thresher groaned once she saw her other team member. “Tha’ Scaredy Cat…” The sharkgirl watched with a judgmental expression as Inohachi went and ran off into a tree and cowered. The Arashi Genin could feel a surge of irritation at watching such a weak display at such intensity that a growl rumbled from her chest. Thresher thought back to the dying man who gave her her headband, and how he died trying to pass on whatever the shinobi life represented. And here was this girl cowering for her life. “An’ I’m supposed ta work with her…” Thresher mumbled. Her fit of irritation didn’t last too much longer, as a quick flash of light erupted from the ground under her. Thresher had just enough reaction to see a symbol scrawled on the ground, but nothing else before the seal ravaged her!
The act of having her energy drained by the fuuin felt very much like being electrocuted! She couldn’t move aside from the occasional spasm as the girl felt her energy taken from her forcibly. With her limited experience in chakra, Thresher couldn’t even find the right way to focus her mind to control her own chakra! It was until something hit her with the force of a boulder did all the shocking finally stop. Moments later Thresher found herself up in a tree with LIttle Bird, Cupcake, and… someone new? With black hair and a scrawny build, this girl didn’t impress Thresher much either. But the shark was in no place to make comments as she recovered from the damage the seal had done. She did listen, however, to the plan as it was made. Formation, strong in front, weak in back- cool. But what was this about telepathy? Thresher watched as the scared girl poked the foreheads of the other two and then stopped to look at the Arashi Genin.
She was nervous. Thresher could smell it like a home cooked meal and it made her lips curl into a predatory grin. “Don’t worry Cupcake, I don’t bite. Hard.” Thresher goaded, her voice a low growl due to still recovering. Inohachi quickly poked her forehead and ran off, which Thresher found amusing.
The girl groaned and rose to her feet as Kotori ran off. Working as a team, huh?“Y’all go on ‘head after L’il Bird. I’ll chase. I’m not in a condition to be up front, and I don’ wan’ ya two to be picked off from b’hind.” Thrsher closed her eyes and frowned, focusing on the Nature Chakra around her and drawing it into her like water. “‘Sides, I got some tricks ya’d like to use fer alerts.” She added, pointing to her nose and her eyes. As she spoke, Thresher body slowly morphed into her Hoshigaki Sage Mode.“Well? Git gone, she’s gettin’ away.” She said, only leaving once the other two followed Kotori.
tab Seeing his attack successfully land , Chosuke watched as the defeated wolves fell into the chasm that had been left by the aftermath of his strike. "Woo! We got 'em!" he triumphantly cheered, throwing his non-enlarged fist in the air. "Good work everyone." he continued, turning back to his other teammates, giving them a thumbs up while grinning from ear to ear. With the threat seemingly neutralized, Chosuke took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled. As he did so, he took the opportunity to shrink his arm back to its normal size and exit the Gate of Opening.
tab While the others had taken an interest in the glowing star-shaped object that had appeared, Chosuke was more curious about the massive chasm that had appeared. Looking down from the edge, he let out a low whistle as he took in just how deep it was. It seemed that the pit was far deeper than his eyes could perceive, as if he didn't have a bottom at all. This could only mean one thing. "Man. I must have hit the ground harder than I thought. Guess all that training with dad really paid off." he chuckled to himself, not understanding that this chasm was far beyond anything he could have produced with his attack.
tab As Miyuki spoke of potential visits to her home village of Arashigakure, Kujaku, who had been notably quiet up until this point, seemed to bite at the invitation, excitedly talking about some ninjutsu formula that made things float or something along those lines. Admittedly, he had no idea what she was talking about, but she seemed happy so he saw no reason to question her motives. "Well, I don't really know much about your village, but if they've got good food, I'm there." Chosuke said, making his way back over from the edge of the chasm to where the two girls were. When questioned about the Hokage, all Chosuke could offer was a simple shrug. "Couldn't tell ya. I've been in the village my whole life but I've never really met her." he replied, following Kujaku's own response. Likewise he didn't really have anything offer when questioned about sensory techniques, only having knowledge of taijutsu. However, this was not the case with Kujaku, who apparently had a solution for Miyuki's request, asking for a moment to prepare.
tab At first, it seemed as if nothing was actually happening and Kujaku was simply standing still with her eyes closed. If Chosuke had to give a guess, there was probably some sort of jutsu thing going on that he didn't know about but regardless, all he could do was look on with curiosity. Then suddenly, in the blink of an eye, Kujaku transformed into some sort lizard-human hybrid. "Woah! You're like a lizardperson! That's so ....... so ....... COOL!" Chosuke shouted, clearly impressed by Kujaku's transformation.

Opponents are able to sense the user's terrifying fighting spirit five feet from the user per body rank of the user through chakra sense. Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no activation for that specific instance of kai.

There she was. Late. In the Lightning Empress's company were four guards in their own selection of garb suiting their to elite and imposition positions and each wary to leave Unki's side in this foreign land. A small glowing lamp tied on each of their belts. Among the attentive guard, the Empress stood about them like a lively center-piece. Nearly glittering too.
tab Battering her eyelashes, smiling with her delayed arrival, against the light glowing from a spherical lamp she carried near her on a tall pole. The warm light had glittery, translucent plastic bits strung together as useless accessories to trail from her lamp's underside, like the frilly arms of a jellyfish. Her lantern accessory looked almost like a yard ornament. Her dress? Hard to tell in darkness but she was definitely representing the free-floating sea-jellies in a pastel pattern. When was the Lightning Empire all about flaunting medusae? Unki actually might have not been easy to recognize, actually, save for the presence of her guards. Her yellow hair wasn't rolled into her favored sweet roll topknot and was overall fastened steady with a pale purple, frilly bonnet. Outside the empire, Unki might have been a total mystery unlike her Shiro who widely had credit for a majority of political going-ons.
None the less, Lightning was finally present to support their Storming ally. Her attire might have been a little out of sorts for the occasion but she wasn't there to strike fear or impress anyone! Honestly, Unki didn't know who was all going to be present besides the Hokage and her quick headcount of one... two...three... plus a cute little snake-y! "On behalf of the Village Hidden among the Storm," the leading guard began as per Unki's request. But the guard wasn't giving the introduction she asked for. A more formal introduction was a prestige she associated with her Shiro and less herself but her accomplished guards couldn't spare her from the recognition. " the delegate standing in for Tosokurui Hojo, the Lightning Empress, Unki." Foregoing the confusing attachment of a surname.
"Our sincerest apologies for the delay. We had an adventure trying to get this whole," Unki pauses for a lack of words and takes a hand off her lantern's pole. She gestured quickly to her guards around her. The frilly lace of her gloves flowing along. "Us! Off the ground! To the ground!" The lead guard nods along. The Empress's story need no corrections or additions to why the delay happened, just confirmations. "But we're here now!" She sang, shrugging and smiling as she her hand clasped the pole again. "The papers please!" In a whisper, Unki chirps one last request of her leading guard as she airily places her weight on the pole. "These are our willing participants. if you've already allowed them entry already I assure you that Toso-chan sincerely appreciates your generosity. I'm terrible sorry, again, that these documents weren't made available sooner." Her guard produced a file, freshly folded closed just hours earlier, and courteously presented such to the Hokage with a duteous bend in his form with his arms stretching out, all the while Unki spoke. Even as her guard returns to the Empress's side, Unki was already trying to take into account all that was going on around her. It wasn't easy. Looking one way, then at the other, daring herself to venture for an eyeful of the action. She could only hope this was a secure event and no frostbitten bugs were secretly on the prowl. Weirdly enough, she didn't recognize the Fire Emperor. Not even from Shiro's previous descriptions of his time on the Island summit as he only seem to offer vague details regarding his polar-opposite political counterpart. He was clothed "prettily" at least, which spring a mental flag in her head. Now, the other man wasn't dressed prettily.Why, he was hardly dressed at all! Only managing to register a mass of black hair and bare skin prompts Unki to casually draw and snap open her fan.
Hiding, plainly, from her own shortcomings Unki inadvertently turns her attention from the Hokage and to the prettily dressed white-haired man. She smiles, tapping the open, yellow fan to the side of her cheek. "Hi there!" She chirps, trying to pretend dismiss the beginning of a quake in her knee. "Where do I sit?" A second guard, then, leaned toward her ear and whispered something and stirred a gasp. She passed her lantern pole to the second guard so she could fumble and flutter the fan over her face a little. Her behavior was beginning to feel immature before the other Emperor. Prior meetings with other officials often held lower titles than her. This was new.
Heading into the home stretch now, a collection of heroes have managed to find the exit to the forest without much trouble, coming out at different points to the very unwelcome sight of the remaining distance to the stone platform where the Hokage was had been cleared entirely of any brush or hiding spots in a massive circle. Like a fort surrounded by a moat, only the moat was replaced with an army of thirty shadow wolves, Their alpha standing proudly at their head. "You'll get to this platform over MY dead body." He roared defiantly before calling all remaining wolves out of their pack formation, their bodies forcibly yanked towards him by the power of his voice alone.
Much like the wolf at the start of the exams had, the alpha now reformed his body into that of a giant, along its form differed slightly. Instead, taking on the appearance of a humanoid figure that bore a wolf head. Pooling from the now sixty-foot tall alpha was an ocean of shadow that crept along the ground until all shades of green were replaced with a midnight black. "One final challenge, NOW COME AT ME!"
Jutsu Used:
▰ Shadow of the Crescent Moon Forest [ Kage no Gengetsu Mori ] | Rank S Using chakra to flood their shadow, the Nara will grow it outward to eclipse an entire 30ft - [640ft] area. As opponents step onto the shadow, the user may use it to mimic the effects of any Nara Clan jutsu, as if cast at the A rank level. Furthermore, for each opponent beyond the first the user may expend an additional A-ranked of chakra to replicate the use of said jutsu without paying multiple activations to do so. For imitations techniques, the circle of shadow is considered to always be in contact with the target's shadow if they are moving on it. Similar to other Nara Clan jutsu, Shadow of the Crescent Moon Forest itself is immune to conventional attacks. ( i.e. attacks aimed at it will destroy the ground but the shadow will remain there afterward. Barriers are exempt from this ) but does not change this for other jutsu that may not immune to collisions. Lasts for [ 5 ] of the user's posts.
▰ Shadow Dancing [ Kage no Mai ] | Rank S The effect of this jutsu is twofold. First, all shadows may now be used as portals for movement. This includes those from other jutsu, but not those under the opponent's control. Transportation is considered instant but the user the act of entering the portals is not. Secondly, all Nara Clan jutsu affected become more physical and harder to dispel, granting them a two rank increase when attempting to break free of other Nara possession jutsu. If stacking bonuses would bring this to over S+ rank (such as a Ino-shika-cho formation) then it grants overwhelming instead of being lost. Lasts for [ 12 ] posts.

As the team began to traverse through the forest and, seemingly, away from the growing threat of the shadow wolves, they would notice the area around them begin to depress. Almost as if they weren't traveling through a forest at all but a muddy 'swamp-like' terrain that, despite its appearance, only seemed to serve to dirty up their shoes assuming they wore any. If any sensory techniques were used they would reveal nothing in the area but ambient plant life.

As all four clones exhaled their flames on the bubbled surface of the bijuu wolf there came the sudden flash of! ...nothing at all. For hours the for could torment the wolf and not even a single scorch mark would form over its surface. Even further, there didn't seem to be any reaction coming from the bubble. It only sat there, completely unimposing.
As the team began their trek through the shaded grove, they would find their travel entirely unimpeded. So much so, that the trio could have fallen into a leisurely stroll, enjoying the sights that one could only find in Konoha's many forested paths. The beat of the cicada's wings vibrated like drums in the air, making for a beautiful backdrop that... no wait, those were definitely just regular drums.
Softly at first, as in a morning sunrise, the music came over the brush and through the trees. A quartet of bipedal lions emerging to block the path, their feet stamping in the dirt in time with the beat. Only once the mood was properly set with full dramatic flair did the fifth lion follow in suit with the other four, although there could be no contest when comparing him with his clear subordinates. The gold and jewelry that adorned his body alone could attest to that.
His richly deep voice sung in the air so powerfully, that it seemed to pull strength away from any others (namely the four others who tried their best to support their leader as background vocalists).

With eyes that bore the intensity of the sun, the lion-man carried his tune with a clear favorite among the group, his hand held itself outstretched in Coello's direction, marking him as the prize the lion sought after.

Golden daggers flashed with light of their own creation and the sound of their sting as their metallic surfaces glided across each other when pilled from their sheath. "You will not get away this time my little Epilobium flower. You two." He spoke now, addressing Rei and Mina for the first time. "Leave my bunny so that I may take her from these exams, and I will make certain that you two are able to pass. I shall even escort your... how you say, pride leader? This, you have my word as true king of the Savannah." As the quartets song faded into the mummer of soft growls, it was clear that unless Mina and Rei agreed to this, king's demands, they would have a fight on their hands.

Lettin her sunglasses slip back down her nose, Lahlil looked inquisitively over those that Masahiro had singled out. A half responsive MmMmm rejected the claim that they could have been tied to her. "Cheating? I dare say, I'd rather encourage cheating as the tools of a clever shinobi. Deception is key for us ninja, no? But I do agree that their appearance in the exam is... odd. Let me just see who they are paired with and..." in the span of only a second, Lahlil's vaguely bemused interest erupted into full-blown laughter. "Oh my goodness! Masahiro honey, don't even worry about it. It looks like past me couldn't have planned it out any more perfectly." A small moment in time passed between them while the Kage shared more sensitive information via her telepathic connection, although the kage doubted the man would share in her mirth. "But yes, I can also talk to her via the collars, whose sole purpose is to create a link to me. I'll update her with your direction. Aaaaand now that that's handled, I get to play with my most favorite little snake in all the world~" With two arms stretching out as far as they could over her chaise lounge chair, it was in this compromised position that Lahlil was caught in right as the entourage to the lightning empress arrived.
Pouting lips turned into, at first confusion, but then into quick realization when she sotted the insignia of the empire displayed on each of the guards. Of course, Lahlil wasn't the type to be able to recognize who specifically had come, especially when she had Masahiro for that, she could notice when she was expected to show respect for important guests. In one fluidity nimble movement that went unimpeded by her lengthy purple dress, Lahlil was on her toes performing a polite curtsy to whom she'd find but a second later to be the Empress of the lightning empire. "Oh! Lady Unki! I beg your pardon, but apologies are fair from necessary! I think I should have much more fun getting to spend my evening with you." As glowly as her voice came off to be, it was only meant with the truest sincerity. Lahlil had heard only small references that the woman who would lead an empire, and she relished the chance to meet the object of her light obsession. Before Lahlil had the chance to give more of an introduction however, the Empress had gravitated her way towards Masahiro. It made sense in a way, that even without knowledge thereof, people were naturally drawn towards others of equal importance. A fact she shrugged at but couldn't fault the woman for. Instead, the kage Lahlil put the time to good use, altering her sunbathing relaxation getaway into an adorable little picnic for two. Complete with snacks and fluffy blanket.

tabA joyful sigh of relief softened the anxiety that had plagued him ever since these exams had started. It wasn't exactly in him to want to stay and want to fight a big giant bubble wolf thing, but neither could the rabbit have run off alone. A thin scrap of bravery hung inside him, stitched together by the simple desire to want to try and help everyone that he could. Maybe that would be the death of him one day. For now, it was what helped speed his step into taking up a rearguard in his little parade group and push them along into the woods.
Completely unaware of what misfortune was about to take him, Coello briskly strode through the tree line happily enjoying the nature scene around. Questions directed at him now would be met with only a light hum whilst the bunny was completely lost in his own space. How lovely it would have been to scamper off and inspect whatever hidden secrets lay buried beneath its brush. Oh, if only I had time to go off and explore dang it. I bet there are tons of little buggies all happily making their homes inside that fallen log right there... The rabbit mulled bitterly.
So lost was he that it wasn't until Coello had stumbled into the backs of his compatriots did he notice the pride of bardic lions come singing right out of the forests. His pink eyes froze dead center on their leader, instantly recognizing him as that self-important creep who somehow always managed to track him down! Eyes shifting back and forth between Mina and Rei, the bunny twiddled two of his fingers. "Ha..ha.. ha. You guys wouldn't really give me up, would you? I mean we're supposed to be a team and all!" Pleadingly he sought his acceptance in each of their eyes as the self-doubt slowly started to eat his insides Would he be able to run if they all turned on him?

Stepping in front of Coello and looking rather bored, the pale youth impetuously locked eyes with the obstacle straight out of e621.
As Yashima continued his trek with his team, pain still more or less wracking his body from the seal he was still under the effects of likely. The voice of the wolf above him on the surface made him mentally sigh....which his two partners would be able to hear. He would then speak telepathically to them. 'My chakra is being drained, my stamina is basically nothing because of the pain...I'd help directly if I didn't think I'd just be getting in the way...I'm going to the platform.' To which, he would do exactly that, moving through the ground still with his mayfly technique active, and avoiding the entire 'moat of wolves' so to speak. Popping up out of the ground right on the platform if possible. Breathing heavily, face contorted in pain from the seal that was painfully draining his chakra, sweating and overall looking like he was in such a horrible position.
