Night had fallen at the forest, and the creatures of the night began to come out of their homes. Axel had made a stop and sat down against one of the trees high atop along the canopy. Looking up to the sky, he couldn't help but admire the starry night. As he did so, he drifted off into sleep.

Day 1 night
PostPosted: Tue Apr 20, 2010 6:29 pm
Axel dropped down from the tree when the sun rose. It was the beggining of his second day traveling down the mountain. "Man...I probably should have just taken him up on his offer..." he sighed as he clutched onto his stomach, growling for food. "I'm going to need to eat something now...otherwise I won't have the strength to keep going..." he said as he closed his eyes, sensing a life force merely a hundred yards away. Dashing through the forests, Axel found a single deer drinking out of a brook. "Perfect, food and drink...can't beat that..." he grinned as he took out five senbons.

Closing his eyes, he remembered learning about the critical points in a human anatomy and figured that a deer can't be too different. Taking careful aim, Axel launched his senbons straight at the deer, hitting his mark as it toppled over. "Oh yeah..." he grinned as he walked over to the body. Taking a good sip of water and filling up his canteen that he kept for just such occasions, Axel took out a kunai and began cutting up the meat off the deer, keeping an eye out to make sure no other beasts would try and take his prey.

After taking off the meat, Axel held out his palm focusing on the blue flames in which he had used to summon a while back. He had finally managed to master summoning the flames as regular katon. A single blue fireball hovered over his hand as he let it drop, creating a small blue fire in order to begin cooking the deer. "Nothing like a good barbacue early in the morning..." he laughed.

After eating a bountiful meal, he saved some of the deer and stored it in his pack. Filling up his canteen once more, Axel hopped unto a tree branch and took off once more. The sun was high above the sky, meaning that it was a little after 12. "I wonder how Luo and Kage are doing, it'll be funny when they see that I'm alive," he laughed as he continued jumping from branch to branch. "Jeez...this forest is neverending," he sighed as he continued going.

Day 2 Afternoon
PostPosted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 1:56 pm
The stars filled the sky as night fell atop of the forest. Axel was traveling non stop, trying to get down the blasted hill faster, but it seems like he has one more day to go. Stopping at a single branch, Axel rested himself against the tree. It was a good thing he was so high above, it would prevent him from being eaten alive by the creatures of the forest floor.

Taking out the leftover deer, he lit his hand on fire, being enshrouded by the blue flames. Extending his hand over the deer, he began heating it up to a good temperature. "This is what I'm talking about..." he chuckled as he extinguished the flame and began eating. It wasn't half bad...and then he took out the canteen and drank water. After finishing his meal, he rested against the tree and went to sleep under the starry skies.

Axel woke up to the sound of a bear roaring at him from the grounds. Almost falling from surprise, Axel looked down and saw the bear standing up on its hind legs and swing at him. Axel sighed as he stood up. "Sorry Yogi...but I gotta get going," he said as he hopped unto another branch. He continued jumping from branch to branch trying make it down the mountain. This trip was not a waste though. He managed to survive for three days and become more proficient with his clan's flames.

That's when he leaped out of the forest completely, landing unto the grass. Looking back, he realized that he made it. He had made it down the mountain. Performing a single seal, he decided it was time to check out the village, closing his eyes and letting his mind expand. Sensing several chakra signatures, he decided to head that way to find out some more information as to where he was and how to get out of here.

{Well, this seems to be the most isolated place,} Kageko thought as she walked through the forest of blackened trees at the base of the mountain, {What do you think, Kami? We've seen absolutely no one after entering this forested area.}
{I don't know. It's true that no one is really here, but the trees seem dangerous, especially since they all have seals on them. Also, I don't think they're black because of a fire. All of the trees are alive and well,} the five-winged angel warned.
Kageko took a minute to think as she continued to walk further in, trying to find an isolated clearing that they could train in, {True, I've seen burnt trees and they definitely don't have healthy leaves after being burnt completely black.}
Kaminari reasoned, {M-maybe we should turn back?}
{Nah,} Kageko answered immediately, {Why should we? Besides, we're already this far in and nothing's hurt us.}

With that comment, the discussing ended shortly before Kageko came to a stop in what she figured was clearing that was good enough to train in.

After finalizing her already solidified ideas while stretching, Kageko finished her warm-ups by pulling out her chakrams and tossing them in two different directions, measuring the distance so as to offer herself a challenge. Each one was about a hundred meters away from her, and transporting to one would make the other around 170 meters away. With Soul Connection, she stepped into void and instantly stepped out at Yin's location. Wresting Yin out of the ground as soon as she got out, Kageko jumped with an equal sense of urgency and sent Yin even farther away from Yang just as she connected to the white chakram. Trying to beat her chakram, Kageko took Yang into her grasp the instant she appeared next to it and, without bothering to take it out, warped herself and her weapon to where Yin was going to end up in a moment, catching the chakram before it impaled her. The entire maneuver took half a minute at the most, With her daily practice of Soul Connection done--she would have done more if she could but she was at her limit--Kageko put both her chakrams away. By now, it didn't take much effort to use the technique, but she still didn't dare go over the three-a-day limit that she had set for herself when she first learned the technique.

Specialization 1- Explosion
Description:
By infusing void into her chakrams and then condensing it as much as possible, Kageko can create a void bomb that she can set off whenever she needs/wants to. As usual with void, the move is risky as the bomb cannot be canceled after it is created and releasing it at the wrong moment will cause harm to anyone within a 5 meter radius. The edge of the explosion, which is at 5 meters, will suffer only light cuts and wounds. People within 3 meters of the bomb will suffer deep cuts and even gashes. A distance of 1 meter or smaller from the bomb could dismember limbs and cause serious injury to any vital organs. While the chakrams contain the bomb, they are covered with void as if a regular attack was used, giving people a reason to stay far away from it. Only one void bomb may be formed at a time and the bomb may only last for as long as the user can control void. The chakram that the explosion is going to come from must be in the user's hand while the explosion is prepared. Although the words "bomb" and "explosion" are used to describe this technique, there is no force that sends people back or even a sound to alert those nearby. The only result of this specialization is the sudden, bomb-like release of void that causes severe injuries to anyone close enough to it.

Kageko stretched a bit more after finishing up her routine practice of Soul Connection. She had an idea in mind for a technique related to her chakrams that tied in her unique ability to control void with the style that she was just making up as she went along. In particular, she was thinking of a bomb-like technique involving and extremely concentrated amount of void. [1/9]

Kageko figured to herself as she pulled out her chakrams again, Despite the fact that she was going to have to train above and beyond the normal amount in this technique thanks to the fact that it involved what she considered was her kekkei genkai, Kageko focused and stored energy in her chakrams should she need it for a battle in the future, be it near or far. With that done, Kageko went back to business but kept her chakrams in the same position as she continued to concentrate on them. However, instead of the chakra that was used the first time, Kageko concentrated on infusing her weapons with void. [2/9]

As she practiced and reviewed Infuse, Kageko continued to smooth out the rough details of her plan, [3/9]

Her thoughts and preparations done, Kageko took her time with her first try of the technique, which she had decided to name, "Specialization 1- Explosion". Nice, simple, concise, and easy to organize if she decided to make other jutsu/techniques like this one. Slowly she concentrated the void that she had already gathered into the chakrams into an extremely condensed form, trying to tie in and block off any loose ends. The process was slow, for now, but she knew that she would work on speed later. For now, she just needed to be able to do it and, with most other techniques that involved void, failure and a simply slip could be life-endangering with these kinds of techniques. [4/9]

Finally, Kageko felt that she had concentrated the void enough to have some sort of impact. How did she know? Simple, she felt the similar tug to the focus that was felt whenever she used Aether. Immediately recognizing the time limit that she had and unsure of the consequences, Kageko immediately threw the chakram that she had been concentrating void into, Yang. Luckily, to her surprise, controlling it from a distance felt that same as controlling it on her arm. An effect that could probably only be achieved with Yin-Yang. Holding it for as long as possible to test and train her limits, Kageko was finally forced to release a minute or so after the weapon had accidentally embedded itself into a tree around 18 meters away. [5/9]

All Kageko could think as she saw the fruits of her labor was that she was glad to not have tried to perform the attack only 3 meter away from herself. Even from a distance, she could see that the radius of the explosion was much more than 3 meters. Walking up closer to the site of the attack, Kageko could see that the explosion covered a sphere-like area like most explosions and seemed to reach up to five meters in any direction. Kageko thought to herself as she carefully analyzed the scene of the technique, [6/9]

With her understanding of the technique done, Kageko took Yang out of the now fallen tree and returned back to the spot that she had started at. This time, challenging herself to perform the technique faster, Kageko concentrated harder than ever. She had done it once already, so she knew what needed to be done. However, there was a difference between knowing and doing, especially if the "doing" part needed to take place within the span of a moment. [7/9]

After mutliple tries, breaks, naps, snacks, and even a full-blown meal for an extremely late dinner at the admonishment of Kaminari, Kageko finally managed to get the explosion to perform fast enough. the girl thought as she stood panting, dead-tired at the dead of night, as an explosion burst down another tree. She had successfully formed the technique in the time that she had given herself, but that was only once. Kageko thought to herself as she stumbled forward on her way to get her chakram. Being a ten year old girl, even if she was a shinobi, Kageko was up way past her bed-time and she was near her limits.
Kaminari thought quietly but firmly as Kageko seemed to halt in mid-step and glow a bit purple. The angel, who had woken up after feeling the extreme stress that her host's body was taking, straightened out the body and forced herself to become the main conscious while putting Kageko to sleep. Kami knew full well that Kageko would likely be extremely angry that she had taken over her body. It wasn't because the girl wanted to keep the angel totally under her control. It was just because the girl felt as if controlling her body was a key part in controlling her fate. In a way, Kageko's insistence in keeping her business under her control was one of the most admirable parts of the girl, one of the reasons why her soul was so strong, but it also made her extremely touchy about certain things and even hesitant at times.
Unused to the human body, Kaminari unsteadily walked over to what seemed a safe and uncomfortable spot between the roots of a fairly large tree not too far away and slumped down her host's body at the designated location. Kageko had already fallen asleep thanks to a combination of the Kami's influence and the ability of exhaustion to bring sleep easily. Content that the girl wouldn't wake up any time soon and force her body to train, Kaminari backed away from being the main conscious and let Kageko's eyes closed as she used the other senses to be alert for any danger. [8/9]

Kageko was… not pissed the next morning, surprisingly. {Is something up?} the girl asked the nervous angel.
Kami fidgeted, but could find no signs that Kageko even knew about overworking herself last night. Not knowing what to make of it, the angel remained quiet.
Kageko waited for a bit longer as she ate some more of the food that she had brought with her, but decided to give it up. Pushing Kami too much could probably set off another rant, and she didn't exactly want to hear a rant first thing in the morning.
Well, Kageko was right on one thing, Kami was just about flustered enough to go off on a rant, but the topic she was flustered about wouldn't exactly have been benefited by one. Kaminari was absolutely certain that Kageko would be infuriated with her after coming to her senses in the morning but, after the night relentlessly pounding away with void, Kageko seemed to have completely forgotten everything that had happened when she was working through sheer determination alone. Kami wondered quietly to herself as Kageko paid no attention and stretched.
Meanwhile, Kageko was thinking naively, .
After finishing up her stretches, Kageko concentrated on her chakram and threw it, fully expecting to have to perform the jutsu again with the other chakram. However, to her surprise, the technique worked just as well as it had on the final run the night before. However, of course, Kageko didn't remember that at all and figured that this was the first time. the girl thought with excitement as she brought her chakrams back to her and danced excitedly, . From what she could remember of the night before, she was still far away from her goal but, miraculously, she had somehow reached it on her first try the next morning. After quickly celebrating her success, Kageko went immediately back to training, figuring, [9/9]

After having run through her new technique a number of times, Kageko was now sitting down at the base of a tree and taking a short break. the girl thought to herself as she stretched her arms out of boredom, With that thought, she picked herself up and regained her bearings so as to be able to travel in the right direction to get off of the mountain. Seeing how she hadn't traveled too far up, the trip down was fairly short and took ten minutes at most at a jogging pace.

Kageko returned to the same spot that she had damaged from her previous training. In her opinion, it was best to limit the damage to any area as much as possible by keeping a steady training spot. Apparently, this was starting to become her steady training spot.

Standing right in the center of the clearing, Kageko focused on Kaminari and Kaminari focused on Kageko. In no time, a purple aura surrounded the small girl's body as her eyes shifted from their usual silver to a shocking violet-red. Clapping her hands together after the transformation, Kageko quickly separated them in a throwing motion and shot out two plasma kunais at a nearby tree. The weapons left a nasty burn, blackening the already black tree before dissipating into thin air.

Kageko continued her routine practice. She wasn't learning anything new, but she was still training. Training didn't only include learning new jutsus and techniques, it also included reviewing and honing the old ones, which was what the girl was doing right now. As she continued to keep the angel activated, at least up to stage 0, Kageko caused Yin-Yang to shoot out from their sheath without any physical effort directly from her and sent them whirling about. Gradually, she tightened the circles that the two chakrams were making in mid-air while keeping up her complex maneuvers. It was a challenge of sorts: How close could she keep the chakrams without causing injury to herself.

As Kageko trained, Kuro suddenly appeared, intentionally flapping his wings hard enough to create a loud sound. Hearing the wing beats, Kageko immediately stopped training and looked up at the raven with worry as he landed on her shoulder. She had told Kuro to only appear if she was urgently needed. When the raven finally stated, "A new hokage has been chosen and he wants all Leaf shinobi chuunin and above to report to the meeting hall as soon as possible," Kageko sighed in relief. She had worried that perhaps the village had been attacked again. "Alright then," she replied as she prepared herself to leave the mountains, "It looks like I'll have to go...."
