"It is up to you, Miss Dracht," the clone of Esteban said. "I must find the book yes, and investigate something I felt earlier when we reached the 100th floor. I am limited in what I can do in this form, but I won's be too much of a burden."

((Its quite alright, Holidays and what not. 3nodding ))

Z looked up at Elizabeth as she spoke. When she hurried off he shrugged alittle and went back to his fast paced skimming of the books. In a shot time he covered about five books and was well into the sixth. All the information the books contained his mind soaked up like a sponge, storing any useful bits, which was very little. There was all the usual reference to great leaders and dictators, but nothing he could really use.

As he continued to read, his mind picked up whispers, like a mind was there, but it wasnt at the same time. Like a ghost mind, which was impossible because incorporeal creatures minds lived on other planes of reality, so Z couldnt hear those thoughts and undead had no mind.(Usualy) This was like someone's mind was coated in oil, always slipping and sliding around.

He brushed it off like it was his imagination toying with him in the silence and continued to reading.

As the pages to the last book flipped closed, Z gave a heavy sigh. Everything that might reference Memnon wasnt of any real help. Z expected as much, he would have guessed that someone with Memnon's past would have become very good at leaving very little behind in history to give a hint to their past. So Z knew what was next. He would have to begin his decent into the middle levels of the Tenth Sea Library.

As Z stood up from the table, the books took off. Going back to their original places where Z had gotten them from. Z wanted to make sure that they were back and in good condition, after all it was his job at the Jarian compound to take care of information, so why not do that here out of curtisy?

When his mind felt the last book slide into place, he began walking. It was time to take the stairs down to the next floor, and begin his decent down into darkness.

The whispers continued to haunt him. Always nagging at the back of his mind. It was getting annoying, like a fly that wouldnt leave him alone. The only other sound besides those of the voices in his head were his foot steps that echoed on the steps as he began to walk down to the ninty-nineth floor. Visually the floor didnt look any different, but the atmosphere changed atlittle. The air was more stagnent, like less people came to look at these books. Alittle more dust was visible, but other then that, it seemed that the floors was still well in order.

Z could only imagin what the fiftith floor and the forty-ninth floors could be like. He supposed he would findout when he got there. He began his search for books that he thought would help his search, all the while the voices echoing in his mind.

A bellowing roar erupted from what sounded to be the tenth floor of the library. When signs are posted in giant libraries warning of danger, caution is often a handy tool to carry. The signs in the Tenth Sea warned of perilous dangers on every floor but the very top and the lobby. It seemed that the presence of so many newcomers and the lack of a one Allen Aharsen was enough to wake the beasts. An echoing roar exploded from at least ten other floors. Whatever quiet the library had had, it was gone now. The place did seem more lively though, shadows flitting every which way and scrabbling sounds bursting around the stairs. The lone elevator shaft seemed to be the only place not bustling with sound and motion, even the books on the shelves twitching slightly as if disturbed or angry.

Knowledge is a dangerous thing, best to take it in controlled doses.

A silhouette shimmered into place behind the front desk. A ghost? An illusion? Whatever it was, it held the general shape of a man and did not seem immediately threatening.

Nerida
Princess of Mayim

Royal Appearance

Right outside the entrance of the library, stood a very elegant looking figure. Her outfit white and blue, seemingly very royal. Bells adorned her outfit, and a few within her hair, and in her hand was a flute, which was made of wood. This place is pretty big", she said to her sea critter companion that sat beside her feet. Its tail swished behind it, looking at the building as well. "This is the the tenth sea library. Many books reside within this place." The girls said such a thing, with much excitement. The creature nudged his head against her leg, trying to get her attention.

"We should be heading back soon. Someone will eventually notice that you have gone", he said to her.

The white haired girl looked down at him and smiled. "Just a bit longer. I want to see what is inside." The girl then paused before speaking again. "I wont be long", she told him, entering. But right before she did, she changed her appearance, her royal garment changing into normal attire. "I'll be careful", she promised, proceeding inside.

More than books resided within the massive building, even just in the lobby, there was a furious sense of movement, scurrying, scuttling, flicking, twitching, flitting, and all sorts of jerky and smooth motions. None of it was explicitly violent there in the lobby; it couldn't be, but there was an impression that elsewhere it would be and there would be far more visible and voraciously hungry things higher up. The library housed far more diverse sources of knowledge and wisdom than merely written texts.

Nerida was amazed at what she saw. Within the lobby, the girls eye's went form left to right. Lots of things seemed to be going on, her senses picking up much movement. "This place....seems awfully busy....for a library", she said to herself, still walking through the lobby. It made her wonder what the rest of the place looked like. Most libraries or the one back under the sea was nothing but quiet and empty. But here, here it seemed rather busy, almost too busy. Nerida liked, or more like loved learning, building her knowledge on anything and everything. She knew much about the sea, seeing a she was born there. But she knew little about the things on the surface. The books within the palace didn't state too much.

Amidst all the movement, there was a single point of stillness. A luminescent silhouette of a man towered behind the front desk, still as a stone.

Even though her eye's moved around the room, feeling the much movement, something soon caught her attention. Placing her eye's ahead of her now, Nerida spotted the front desk, but something was odd. Just behind the desk, Nerida spotted a shadow. Eying it, she inched even closer. It seemed more like a silhouette of someone. It was kinda eerie. She stood inched from the desk now, her eye's still looking the shadow over. "Umm...hello", she paused before finishing. "Is...someone there?" Despite her desire to explore the rather large library, this odd silhouette caught her attention.

The glowing impression of a man made a motion that seemed akin to a nod. It was almost a shadow made of dim light. Whatever it was, it was certainly one-dimensional and it certainly seemed to be there to help. Whether or not it could speak was another question entirely. Even if it could, it would have been difficult to hear it over the massive bellowing and screeching sounds bursting from the upper floors. Something particularly nasty sounded like it was on the tenth floor, but other things just as menacing sounded from the stairwells and fourteenth floor.

The shadowy figure gave a nod, letting Nerida know that it indeed was someone, or rather something. But she could barely hear it, if it was trying to speak. The movement and commotion that could be heard was drowning out all other possible sounds. It was very loud, and it made the princess that much more curious. She wanted to view the library anyway. "Do you know what that noise is?", she asked the silhouette. Nerida then looked away, not even waiting for it to nod. She turned towards the the stairwell, which would lead to the next floor. "I'm going to go see what it is", she said, heading for the stairwell.

On the outside, the small sea critter, which seemed to look like a fox paced outside the library, growing rather worried about his Princess. "She's taking too long."

The glowing shape of the man behind the desk stuck its hands out, curling its fingers into claws before bringing both hands together and apart vertically. The distinct impression of a great big mouth with great big teeth was clear. It was a shame the girl did not see it.

The softly glowing shape shook its head disappointedly.

Failing to see the odd shadow man's hand gesture, Nerida proceeded up the staircase, to the next floor. She could hear the noise increase, which indicated she was headed in the right direction. "What could be making that noise." Before she knew it, Nerida stood on the next floor, her eye's gazing around.

The second floor was still close enough to the first that nothing too nasty was wandering around, the entire floor being a ring around the central atrium. Were Nerida to take a peek over the stone railing at the edge of the atrium, she likely would still be able to see the glowing figure at the desk in the center clamping its hands together. A single bookshelf, presumably the holdshelf, towered up behind the figure. That shelf stretched all the way to the vaunted ceiling of the atrium, some thirteen floors up.

The second floor seemed mainly in order, all the shelves standing upright, most of the books in their places. The books seemed to be twitching slightly, almost as if they had been woken up and were slightly terrified of something big and threatening.
