I remember on like, the third day of school my world history teacher was talking about how she used to go to a catholic school when she was younger (she's only 25! Can you believe that?!) and she was like, "When I was little I wanted to be a nun, but then when I found out about all the stuff you can't do as a nun I changed my mind."

Teh Pure...I've tried to keep my two cents to myself, but how old are you? When the hell did the whole molest thing happen, sorry its a personal question, but if it went on for 4 years, I can only say its your fault for letting it last that long.
So using that as a point is completely uncalled for...It does not matter how your uncle behaved, you know what is right and what is wrong, and no matter what was said to engage in such a situation, I find it ridiculous you didnt put a stop to it sooner.
I feel for ppl when they have bad experiences, but in a situation like the one you described, I am oft not willing to share sympathy.
This is prolly the only post I'm gonna make here, but I decided I had to say something on the matter.
EDIT:
oh and before I get bashed for insincerity...My g/f was molested/raped by her father when she was 3 years old, she remembers it, and in fact she ended up taking her father to court after it happened. He left soon after, its been 16 years since then now...and if a 3 year old can do somethin, what stopped you?

`I'm 15. This happened from age three to seven.
And I never said I didn't do anything about it! I tried to stop it, and do you think he listened? No, he didn't. I tried to tell other people, but they didn't believe me. I never liked my uncle and neither did either of my parents. Everyone I tried to tell just thought I was making it up.
At that age, it's hard to take legal action if nobody believes you. When I was still talking about it after four years, people finally started to realize that I wasn't making it up. (What the ******** kind of three/four year old makes up something like that anyway? I still resent the majority of my family for not believing me) My uncle now lives on the other side of the country and if he ever tries to communicate with anyone in my family again he's going back to jail.
And besides, you have no right to say any of those things in the first place. Besides, "insincerity" is dishonesty. You're going to be bashed for being inconsiderate. If you're going to reduce the motives of someone who already hates theirself, at least try to use proper grammar. |
