Artificial War

Azm sighed. "I'll be back. Got to kill some more shitheads," he said as he got to his feet and prepared a grenade. He moved to the door and let the grenade cook, then threw at the nearest group of "s**t heads".

Marie ducked as the grenade exploded and reloaded her guns

"I'll be here. Maybe. Don't know. Might run away." Kim grunted with sarcasm, giving a light wave off to Azm.

"Oh Than... What the?!" Niles stared at Azm in shock, ducking down only a few moments before the grenade blew at the androids' feet, effectively killing and-or paralyzing the survivors.

"A little warning next time!" He barked out, choosing to remain behind some cover in case he did anything else insane.

"I wouldn't have thrown it if it were going to kill you," he said as he moved from the door and executed the stunned ones.

Marie stood up and looked around the building. "That it?"

"We're not getting shot at anymore, so I think we're clear." Ben sighed, getting up from his cover.

"I'll escort Lucy over and get her fixing up Nurixin." He added as he ran for the door, and back to the SUV.

"So..." Niles head slowly popped out, as he chose to remain cautious for the time being.
"...How's Kim?"

"Bad. Marie, get a stretcher. Niles, get out the satellite phone and get a hold of the president's bunker or something who can and let them know we have Kim alive." he replied before heading back into the room Kim was in. Once he was there he immediately gave her some morphine. "I wont take you to your dads bunker. But I am taking you to the hospital."

Marie ran for a stretcher as fast as her legs could go.

"Awesome." Niles grunted, getting out of his cover and following Azm into the room, standing by in case he would be needed for help.

"Deal." Kim gave chuckle. "I'll take a shitty hospital over your bedside manner any day."

Azm smiled. "Glad to see they didn't drain all the spirit out of you," he replied. "If you run away again I'm going to be very upset," he added. He let out a sigh and rubbed his head as his emotions took over, an action that was meant only to hide his eyes as they started to swell. "You have no idea how good it feels to see you alive..."

Marie practically tore the trunk open, grabbed a fold up stretcher, then ran back without saying a word.

Niles shifted on his feet, getting the sense the conversation. was going to come a bit private and intimate. His suspicion was confirmed as Azm rubbed his face, a tall tale sign of overwhelming emotions popping up. Quietly, he stepped out to avoid embarrassment for himself being there, and Kim and Azm having him there listening.

"I figured you would be showing up sooner or later. Just needed to hold out until then." Kim explained with another sigh and groan.
"If you saw half the s**t they did, I'm sure you'd be running off to go kill more of them while I sat in a hospital bed, bored out of my mind. So, I won't run away if you promise not too, alright?" She looked over, grinning at Azm for a few moments. Once she saw he was rubbing at his face though, her expression changed. "What's wrong?"

"What the?!" Lucy suddenly looked up as Marie suddenly appeared, scaring her. "What's going on?" She tried to ask, but received no answer.

A few moments later though, Ben appeared.
"Nurixin got injured. We need your assistance."

Lucy reached in the back, grabbing a small tool and repair kit and hopped out of the SUV, running back to the factory alongside Ben.

"Just... happy... and relieved you're still alive. Everyone expected the worse and despite my optimism I knew the odds of it were really high," he replied. "I already saw some of what they did, but we have a whole war to deal with and make them pay through, in time." he did his best to wipe his eyes in one quick motion but couldn't get it all. "I'll stay as long as you want me around. I promise," he answered. He swung her rifle over his shoulder and showed it to her. "I've kept it clean and in the best condition. It's ready for you when ever you think you have the strength to shoot it again."

It was then that Marie ran in, quickly unfolding the stretcher next to them. "Sup..." she greeted with a friendly smile. "Ready to get out of here?"

Kim only frowned in silence as she listened to Azm's confession. While he had never been shy in the past to express concern for her health and safety, and it had never come out quite like this. It sounded more genuine to her, as he was truly concerned (which she had never realized until now), and not just doing a job.

She gave a light chuckle and a smile as Azm quickly shifted the conversation to her rifle, delighted to see it once again. Kim couldn't believe how naked and vulnerable she felt without it weighing her down. It brought an odd sense of comfort as she reached out and grabbed the rifle tightly.
"Thanks," she sighed and let go of the weapon after a few moments. "I'd like to take it back as soon as I'm able."

As Marie entered the room, Kim immediately glared at her with a burning hatred. "The ******** are you doing here?" She growled at the woman who Kim had known to be another source of betrayal. She snapped her attention to Azm, the blast of anger giving her enough energy to starting getting up on her arms. "What the ******** is she doing here? She's working for them, you b*****d!" Kim rolled herself over, the morphine dulling the pain enough that the brief flash of aches and sores weren't enough to slow down Kim. "She ******** sold me out to these bastards!" She barked, starting to crawl towards Marie, reaching out to grab her by the neck.

((Yeah.. I almost forgot, Kim was kinda gone during all of Marie's bit of redemption. Last thing she knew was that Marie tracked her and attacked. So she's rightly pissed off.))

Marie gave a conflicted look and sighed, slowly stepping back as Kim crawled towards her.

Azm grabbed Kim and pulled her away from Marie as gently as he could. "Stop it. She wouldn't be here if I didn't trust her," Azm said as he bear hugged Kim. "She lost her family to androids. She's the only reason I even had a lead to find you. You should be thanking her," he explained.

Marie unfolded the stretcher and set it on the ground as she waited for Kim to get a hold of herself.

"Yeah?" Kim growled as she glared back at Azm, knowing better than to even try to fight. Even in peak physical health, she wouldn't bust free, so she'd feel nothing but unnecessary pain now. "She's also the ******** reason that b*****d lieutenant got a chance to kidnap me and take me to Geminoid's delivery boy." She nodded to the dead android in the corner, who had been the same one who murdered the lieutenant and her 'transportation' during her capture.

"If you hadn't been for you, I wouldn't be in this God damn mess." She glared at Marie, fists clenching tightly as she began to shake in Azm's arms. "I wouldn't have been beaten. I wouldn't have been tortured." Kim's eyes began to swell, just as Azm's had. However, her's flowed more openly, especially since her arms were restricted. "I wouldn't have been interrogated for information I don't even know. I wouldn't have been humiliated. I wouldn't have become Geminoid's personal play thing.
"Everything that happened to me, happened because of you!"

"...Is everything okay in there..?" Niles called out worriedly, hearing the bickering from the other room.

As Kim was contemplating murdering Marie, Ben and Lucy finally reached the factory. Lucy spotted the downed android immediately, like she had some sort of homing beacon to fallen robotic allies. She squated down beside Nurixin, checking over the bullet holes she could see. The only major injury she could find was on the head, which she began to thoroughly examine.

Marie just shook her head. "I didn't even know the lieutenant was a traitor as well, but he was on your tail just as fast as I was," Marie replied. "I hate to say it right now but it's your own stupid a** fault for not staying in the hospital."

Azm didn't want to say it so he was glad Marie had, he just tightened his hug on her as she started to cry. The hug was more of a comforting cuddle now the something meant to keep her in place. "I'm pretty sure I told you to get on the satellite phone Niles..." He spun Kim around and looked down at her. "I need you to keep it together and get on the stretcher so we can leave. I have a dead friend I need to go check on..."

"Right..." Niles sighed, stepping away from the door to make the call.

"I would have gotten out if you hadn't bugged me!" Kim barked in reply, Azm's attempts to comfort almost going by completely ignored. Kim had become too angry to calm down quickly and easily, but it was a nice reassurance that at least someone cared at the moment.

Azm's effort to somewhat move the two women away from each other didn't affect Kim much. She was still enraged with Marie, and even more so through pride as her broken legs forced to hold and lean on Azm just so she could remain standing.
"I'm not going out with her." Kim shook her head, glaring at Azm. "I can't ******** walk anymore so I'll take the stretcher, but I don't want anything to do with her." Slowly, using Azm somewhat like a pole, Kim slid herself down to the ground and laid down again, keeping herself from facing Marie.
"I'll wait here. Go check on whoever it is that's down."

"Well you won't have to deal with her. she's not riding with us," he said as he moved her to the stretcher. "I'll have someone help you carry her out," he said to Marie as he went to go check on Nuri.

She nodded as Azm left. Once he was gone she turned to Kim. "For what it's worth... I'm sorry. At the time it was either try to capture you, or lose my family. I ended up losing my family anyways..." Marie felt like she was going to choke talking about it. The wound was still too fresh.

"Ben! Go help Marie carry Kim to the SUV," he ordered as he moved to where he and Lucy where. "What's the damage?" Azm asked as he knelt next to them.
