[Fira the Phoenix]

“Oh, good,” Fira said rather happy about this, “Will you show me where the maps and such are?”  

[Faulty Ambition]

The figure pointed up before indicating the number one hundred. The figure then made a series of hand motions that definitely indicated danger, but what sort was not clear other than that whatever it was, it wasn't friendly.

Fira was utterly confused with her brows drawn down, her head cocked to the side as stared at the figure with her mouth slightly open. “I’m just going to go upstairs okay?”  

[Faulty Ambition]

The figure signed "bad idea," but its movements were less enthusiastic than they had been. The spectre seemed to be wondering why it should even bother. No one listened to it anymore.

Fira stared at the figure for several more moments, she was still rather confused about what it was trying to tell her. However she simply smiled saying, “Thank you very much for your help,” before she turned and headed up the stairs she had spotted earlier.

Royal Appearance

As the scaly unknown creature continued to move, Nerida began to assume something. The wall seemed to get smaller. And before she could figure out what and why, the tail of the creature swung at her, tossing her over the railing. "Ahhh!!!" Falling unconscious, Nerida's body soared towards the ground. Down below, the sea colored fox sniffed around, looking for his princess. And as he sensed her, he looked up, eye's widening. "Princess!!!" Instantly water formed around the fox, engulfing him. The fox then transformed, into a larger form, more fierce looking. It then took to the air, as if swimming. The body of the princess began to glow in a bluish sea colored light, her garments changing back to her royal attire. Soon she fell upon the back of her sea creature, it slowly descending to the ground.

The head of the massive black dragon erupted from the entryway to the fourteenth floor, its body too large to fit into the stairwell. The huge jaws snapped at the air behind the princess and a terrifying bellow blasted from its jaws. This thing was angry and it was loud.

Fira had just started up the stairs, just hitting the fifth or sixth landing when the chaos erupted she quickly walked over the railing and peered up the space between the stair case seeing a woman go flying by was luckily saved by the blue fox she had seen earlier. Or at lease she thought it was the blue fox only bigger, but those two were okay and her attention was soon drawn to the dragon up above.

The phoenix huffed, rather then being afraid she was a little tiffed and hurriedly ran up the stairs when she just about reached the fourteenth floor she stopped just out of reach of the dragon’s jaws her hands on her hips. Fira stared at the dragon tilting her head as the attempted to draw it’s attention with a, “Hey!”

She drew the dragon's attention alright.
Unfortunately, it was neither a talkative dragon, nor a friendly one.
The beast responded to the girl by bellowing again.
The thing most people neglect to mention about roaring dragons is the spittle. Just like standing too close to a red-faced professor, a dragon is likely to spray it, rather than say it. All manner of dragon spit, saliva, and phlegm flew to splatter all over Fira.

Fira’s vivid orange wings quickly snapped out of her back and one flung in front of her, shielding her from the rain of dragon saliva while her tail fanned out behind her. The birds jaw dropped able to feel the warm substance slick down the outside of her wing, all over her feathers that were now going to need to be cleaned when she got the chance to. That made her even more irritated, she had given the chance to see if the dragon could be reasoned with but now it only set her back a few hours of cleaning and pruning her feathers.

Fire formed in the phoenix’s hands and her staff materialized from it. The girl had been stuck on a boat that wasn’t even long enough for her to really lay out in for maybe little more then a week, all she wanted was a little information, right now she was a little short on patients. “I just want to get through you mean thing,” the phoenix muttered stepping forward and throwing her wing out to slap the dragon across the muzzle before she brought her staff in front of her then jabbed the rounded solid gold bottom of it down at one of the dragon’s front paws

((Not sure if this is a bit too nitpicky or if I just didn't get this across well, but the dragon is really, really big. Like, so big that only its neck and head are sticking out into the stairwell, and that head is something like ten feet tall. Also, Fira totally just got slimed, but there's no need to change anything in a post about that, it's just really gross, especially with phlegm. xD))

(I know, but considering this is a human sized girl with wings easily twice her height, so at the very least ten feet long and three to four feet wide each when stretched out and the fact wings on anything are rather muscular and powerful (for example wings of a large eagle can break a person’s arm with ease) it still would have an effect. Given, I figured it would only be like a small non-jarring slap in the face, but at the very least it would be that with a dragon that size, and besides Fira’s not the sort of person to go and outright and attack something with a devastating attack. She rather first see if she could stun it for a moment and make it back off with a warning shot first which I also doubt the dragon would but that's how my character is. xp )

Faulty Ambition

Z would not be able to head down too much farther. Scattered along the walls and stairs were tufts of thick fur, still warm as if they had just been shed moments before. A snuffling sound echoed slightly off of the walls of the stairway. Something was just a little farther down those stairs than he and it did not sound pleased to be awake.

Z didnt pay any attention to the sound as he continued down the stairs and to the landing. Nothing was at the bottom of the stairs, so he shrugged as he continued his search of the books. All the while on his guard, not because of the animal on this floor, but the other, thing? person? Whatever it was that had been following him for the past few floors now.

As with the other few floors, books he took intrest in began poping off the shelves as he walked by them and took up a floating line behind him. They would follow him as he walked, and started his tedious task of searching through the rows and rows of book shelves.  

[Faulty Ambition]

The massive dragon head found its maw slapped by a wing. This surprised it, but did little else. It was a massive dragon, at least a hundred feet long and covered in scales that made the armor on a tank seem like wet tissue paper. The thing was made to outlast and out-survive the smaller creatures around it. The massive beast saw fire start to form behind the wing and opened its massive maw, drenching the girl in more spit and slimy phlegm. The wall behind her would be drenched in the stuff by now. One thing that was clear was that the beast desperately needed to attend to its dental hygiene. The big thing had no idea where the girl thought she was sticking her staff, as its legs and claws were still safely inside the threshold of the fourteenth floor.

The books behind Z were hardly the docile things he had been encountering so far. The snuffling continued, but possibly more worrying, the books no longer remained still. They twitched and strained against the man's hold, struggling against his control. The library was awake, and not just its monsters.

Fira quickly backed off turning her back to the dragon a little as her wings flincked out to cover her face once again and found her the outer side of her wing slicked over with sticky saliva. She looked down at primary feathers lining the edge of her wing and saw some of the dragon spit dribble down onto the floor. “Oh,” She groaned covering her mouth and noise from the stench that reeked from the dragon’s mouth and now from her feather’s on both wings and her tail and her back.

After a moment the phoenix simply sighed now really wanting a bath. There was no way around the dragon without getting eaten or continued to be slobbered on. So there was no point in trying to get up to the hundredth floor this way, and so the phoenix simply started back down the stairs, walking away from the dragon as she flicked saliva off of the feather’s of her wings and tail.
