"Oh you have no idea," Azm replied as his eyes scanned the road, looking at every detail. "Tell him to stop treating you like a little girl... Then tell him off if he doesn't listen," Azm suggested a little quietly so his voice wouldn't be picked up by the phone. "If that fails then tell him if he wants to see you he can go to the hospital, then hang up."  

[Randomly Gone Insane]

"Dad, will you please--" Kim gave a defeated sigh, nodding to Azm to acknowledge she had at least heard him.
"CAN I ******** SPEAK NOW?! ...Yes I did just use foul language and yell at you... Well you won't even let me speak! You keep interr-- YOU JUST DID IT AGAIN! Dad, will you... No, you listen! I'll take any ******** tone I want! I'm tired, in pain, and don't really ******** care right now! ...You can't ground me!"

Azm rolled his eyes and sighed. He leaned in his seat and reached for the phone, snatching it out of Kim's hand. "Sir... this is getting nowhere," he said calmly over the phone.

"Hey!"

"I want her in my bunker. Now." Harland growled. "I don't know what the Hell happened between now and when I last saw her, but she clearly needs to come home."

"with all do respect sir... she's 24. She has a right to do what she wants and right now that's go to a hospital... not your bunker."

"She doesn't even want to go to a hospital. She's telling me she wants to go to that pathetic apartment she called home in the DC ruins!"

"If that's what she wants then she has a right to go there."

"And how the Hell will she get treated in an apartment?!"

"well obviously I'm going to take her to a hospital first sir."

"Great. Bring her here. We have a great hospital."

"But she doesn't want to go to the bunker. She doesn't want to go there because you're just going to fight with her more."
"You have a million billion things to worry about and now your daughter isn't one of them."

"Don't tell me what to do! I'm your commanding officer and her father! Now bring her here immediately or I'll have you executed for treason!"

"...Can I see the phone?"

"You're not going to execute the guy who just saved your daughter's life," he replied before giving Lucy a confused look. He shrugged and put the phone on speaker so everyone in the car could hear.
"You're on speaker sir..."

"I don't ******** care who you are! You're disobeying a direct order!" Harland managed to bark out before Lucy suddenly turned off the phone.

Azm just laughed.

Before anyone else could say anything, Lucy rolled down her window and gave the phone a light toss.
"There. Peace and quiet. He can't track us, can't call us. And the decision remains with us. Unfortunately, I think Kim's home won't be option. He'll look there first." She sighed, looking back at the soldier apologetically. "Sorry, Kim."

"Well I was going to get to that part eventually," Azm said, still smiling. "But yea. Hospital time..."

Marie gave a confused look at the phone as she drove passed it, then shrugged and continued chasing the SUV.

"Well that shouldn't be too hard to do." Niles grunted sarcastically, crossing his arms. "We only need to bring Kim to a decent hospital that won't be attacked, and won't alert her presence to the government so the president can roll in, shoot us, and run off with her. That narrows down our list to... Nothing."

"I killed 23 fully armed and armored androids when they attacked Lucy's house. Special forces can try to stop me if they like..." Azm grumbled. "But avoiding them is a lot easier I suppose. Any ideas?"
Azm already had an idea though it was a long shot. "hey Marie... you know place that would take Kim that won't alert the government of that she's there?" he asked over radio.

"You did NOT just hang up on the president did you?! Oh ******** you did... uuuuuum," she said as she tried to think of a place.

"Pretty bad when violent androids sound like better company than your own father..." Kim grunted, still fuming about the conversation she just had. "Can't believe it... He's treating me like a kid!"

"That's what happens when people think with their heart and not their head," Azm replied. "He'll figure it out one day. If any of the generals there right now are worth their salt they will defend me and tell him exactly the same thing. 'Stop worrying', 'She's in safe hands now', blah blah. I've met most of them. If anyone can talk any sense into him it's those men... In fact I might have to call a few of them..."

"This is assuming he'll listen." Kim scoffed, rolling her eyes. "He gets a little crazy when I get involved in anything."

"Well hopefully we can find a quiet hospital.. I still gotta fix Nurixin."

The hard drives in Azm's head clicked and clicked for a few minutes. "I think we should go see your father... What he is asking is not unreasonable and we can all get in some serious trouble if we don't. It's not worth going to prison and losing all our rank just because you don't want to deal with your father."

"Oh come on, Azm!" Kim whined like a child. "We were both just on the phone with him! He's being unreasonable right now. If we go there I'm not sure I'll ever come out."

"I'll argue with him till he passes out," Azm replied. "He can't legal keep you their against your will. And he's right when he said they have some of the best doctors. I'm not going to make you go, but if you don't it's all our asses. Most of us are military and we just committed treason be disobeying a direct order from our commander and chief... father or not that's what he is to you and all of us."

Kim gave a defeated sigh, leaning back into her seat as she glared out the nearest window.

"...We're going back to main base, Ben." Niles sighed into the comm, finally giving Ben some sense of where to go, as he been just driving down the road for the sake of going.

Azm sighed. He wasn't happy about the situation either and it showed on his face, but he said nothing.

"I hate you for this." Kim growled angrily.

"...The wheels on the SUV go..." Lucy started to awkwardly sing, just to change the topic.

About a day and half worth of driving, and hours of hiking (only slowed down as bodies were carried), the group had returned to the underground facility.

Lucy and Nurixin were taken to a surgical room, the closest thing she would come to total cleanliness to safely replace Nurixin's broken parts without risk of dust and other unwanted things getting mixed into the head. With a few pain staking hours of work, Lucy managed to completely restore Nurixin's head with no sign of injury.

Ben and Niles returned to dull and average guard duty, milling around and bumping into the others once a while. They were never officially assigned back onto duty, but there was nothing else to do, so they put themselves back on duty.

Kim had been taken to the medical wing, just as Harland had wanted. He briefly visited her, which resulted in an argument, before he had been escorted out so treatment could begin.
Over the course of several weeks, Kim went in and out of surgeries. The amount of damage that had been done to her was massive, leaving her bed ridden for quite some time. Between having to realign or completely remove parts of bones for the healing process, her movement was too limited for much activity.

After the sixth week in base, Kim laid in bed. Angry, tired, cramped, bored. She honestly couldn't tell if she was more miserable here or with the androids. Probably here. Here she had to shoo her father out of the room every time he walked in. Now she had no choice. He and the God damn generals agreed everyone deserved medals, and it would be SO touching if she were the one to pin them on while El Mister ******** Presidente gave his speech of gratitude and honor.
"You shoulda just stuck with Geminoid," she groaned as she took the pillow out from behind her head and smothered herself with it.

Azm walked into Kim's room. Another one of his many visits. "Would you rather be crippled for the rest of your life?" he asked. "Cause that's what would've happened had we not come here," he said as he pulled the pillow away from her face.

"Crippled means I wouldn't have to ******** prance around while I pin medals on you guys." Kim grunted, glaring dully at Azm and her stolen pillow.

"I was using that by the way. Can't choke myself without a pillow." She grunted, looking down at her hands as she flexed them, balling them in and out of fists. "Docs say I can't over exercise anything, so no ringing my own neck."

Azm looked genuinely upset, huffing a frustrated puff of air as he threw the pillow across the room. "I didn't go threw all this trouble, kill 23 bots, get MY father killed, piss off my sister, and get a friend of mine shot in the head just for you to come back and kill yourself like a depressed 16 year old high school who never fit in!" he snapped. "Why are you acting like this?"
