Both work, but the other one is more... homebrew... and I as a GM am a bit... weary about accepting them.... but again, that's just me.

Like I said, talk to your GM first. Don't make any assumptions. If it's just a game to learn, then I don't see the harm in it. Or if it's just screwing around. But if it's a serious game then that's when it might be a no.

It's pretty much screwing around. The one experienced player is rerolling one of his old characters that uses javelins as weapons. He told us about this character previously. He carries 3 javelins with him, but only ever remembers to use one of them, so he throws it then chases after it and yanks it out of whatever he hit to throw again. On a bad roll he ended up hitting another party member, but still proceeded to chase it down and pull it out lol. One of our other players has said he's going to hit on NPCs in any taverns we stay in.

Oh, and EVERY GM, [in my experience] Loves back story. It gives us more to play around with ^.^ So think about something nifty for future characters and all that XD

I really don't think it will matter with your first character, especially if it's just like a test one. Actually, my first character had no back story, other then being an orphan and now, I can, and am working on a book for him heart heart heart
