Jaecen became more serious. "The day that happens is the day I watch them like a hawk. Adolescent boys are really, really crazy. I can't even begin to think about that possibility."
Erin stifled a chuckle. "As weird as ever, Da."
"Oh, don't get me wrong. You do anything to harm a girl and it'll be quite a beat down, got it?"
"Eyugh!" Erin reeled back in shock. "Da, quit it already!"
Jaecen looked down at X. "Goodness. It seems she just broke a fever...."

Carter smiled. "Hold on to your heart. It is a part of you as it was me. My memories will all be yours. Farewell, my best friend's child."
With that, a flash of light erupted within her mind and he merged with the final pieces of the heart as the heart became one. X would soon experience rapid changes.

(inside X's mind)
X screamed as the doors to Kingdom Hearts appeared in her mind for a few moments. She quickly got up and ran after him but it was more of her running in place as Kingdom Hearts allowed Carter to enter to end his journey.
"NO DON'T GO!" X screamed as tears ran down her face. She watched as the doors closed as he entered. She fell onto her knees and started to cry.


X woke up and looked around, tears came out her eyes. She saw Jaecen and immediately hugged him around his neck. Her breathing was ragged, as if she were crying for a while.

When X woke up with tears, Tsuyoi slowly leaned forwards, fixing her hat, "Hm...either you had a really, REALLY bad nightmare...or," She looked down, letting out a sigh, "Carter..." she didn't say any more, looking at Jaecen and X.

Jaecen held X close and let her cry. He had nothing to say. He just let X hug him. How to tell someone that everything will be alright? He just didn't know at the moment.
Erin frown. The old man had picked on him a lot but, he had to admit that even he'd miss Carter. The guy was still a bit suspicious but now there was nothing to discover.

"I passed out and next thing I know, he had bestowed the rest of his heart onto me and said he left this legacy to me now. Im scared...."

"Hmm?" Jaecen was a bit surprised but he tried to comfort her. "It's okay. There's nothing to be afraid of. What he left you was his sorrow. He was always depressed when he wasn't doing something. You saved him from living with the burdens he carried. He had killed many people. So many that it affected him to an extent where his wife even gave up on him and cursed him with her immortality." Jaecen paused for a moment and stroked X's cheek. "It was so much so effective that even to this day, my family shares some form of immortality by outliving most normal humans. You've given him the highest of honours for someone of his stature, the gift of death."
"Sure. Some cases I could see why but why is it a gift for him?" Erin asked.
"He was tired of seeing the world's struggles and seeing X, he latched on to her. He helped her wholly knowing he would die. That was why he was always so much more cheerful." Jaecen explained.

"o....ok. I just will miss him still, even if I only got to know him for a little while. I watched him walk into Kingdom Hearts and the doors opened for him. Yeah....not the first time ive seen that before....but I guess I just didn't wanna let go of him, but he left happy so.....I guess I have to be?"

Erin said nothing but he agreed with his father.

Tsuyoi rubbed the back of her head, then looked towards a clock that was mounted on the wall. It was already the next day, "...we should really get some sleep." she said, looking at the others. "Even though we'll only have a couple hours of sleep, it's good enough."

"I'm in agreement." Jaecen stood up, still carrying X. "That sounds like a good idea."
Erin sighed before nodding. "Right. Should I take X to her room, then?"
Jaecen shook his head. "She doesn't have Ene with her so I don't think that'd be a good idea." He looked to Tsuyoi. "What do you think? Should we let her sleep upstairs?"

Jaecen set X on her feet. He reluctantly agreed. "Okay."
Jaecen looked at Erin. "What?"
"X... Why don't you think of Erin as your Knight?" Jaecen said.
"Come off it. What're you doing?" Erin took a step back.
"Simple enough. Just watch her, protect her like you would Nami and Ene. But more. Think of it like... well... Just watch your sister."
Erin shrugged. He didn't argue back or anything. "Alrigh'. There's no way I'm goin' t'sleep t'begin with."
"Thanks, buddy." Jaecen ruffled Erin's hair.
Erin shoved Jaecen's hand off with his arm. "The hell was that for? I had it just fine before you went an' buggered it up!"
"So, you spend enough time on your hair yet you forget about your homework? Shocking, really." Jaecen joked.

X looked up at Erin and gave a nervously cute smile.
While Jaecen was busy with Erin, she sent a harmless and small electrical shock through Jaecen's body to make his hair stand up.

"hehe" she had a huge smile on her face.

His hair stood up on end. [Jaecen's [removed](T-T)] "Aw man... I had to use a good amount of hair gel, too..."
Erin chuckled. "Now, we see where I get it from. Hair gel is bad for your hair anyways."
Kaecen ran a hand through his hair to chase away the static. "Ah... So, if I were to dunk your head into water then you wouldn't be able to do much. I'll keep that in mind."
He narrowed his eyes. "You wouldn't. Do you know how long it took my hair's natural oil to comply?"
Jaecen shrugged and grinned mischievously. "Maybe I'll even hunt you down with a bottle of shampoo."
Erin put a hand on X's back and led her outside. "Yer a pain in m'a**."
"You're welcome." Jaecen called after him, snickering.

X tilted her head as Jaecen and Erin started to fight a little bit. She didn't know what shampoo or hair gel was.

As Erin led her outside, she giggled
"was it funny to see his hair stand up? That was barely a tiny spark and his hair shot up."

She grinned big then sighed
"I never seen a sunrise in front of water before. Thank you for taking me out with you."
