Nerida
Princess of Mayim

Royal Appearance

Looking in the direction the ghostly figure pointed, Nerida noticed the elevator and smiled. Turning to the apparition, she smiled, thanking him. Nerida then made her way to the elevator and pressed the button. The button lit up, but nothing happened. Only thing that was heard was the chime. Tilting her head a bit to the side, she pressed it again, only hearing a chime. "Is it...broken?", she htought, pressing it once more.

Sighing, she released her finger from the button and placed her hands upon the doors. With all her might and the help of her fox-like sea creature, they nudged and nudged, attempting to open the doors some, to view the problem.

The doors opened jerkily to reveal an empty elevator shaft. The massive shadow beast at the top jerked down a couple of feet with each button press. The space inside the elevator shaft started growing warmer and the drool grew more frequent. Something was certainly hungry.

The elevator shaft was empty, something that Nerida expected. But what emitted from it, wafted over her, making her step back. The shaft was pretty warm, especially for something that wasn't working. She could sense something in there, but what it was, was still a mystery. Placing her head inside, she looked around and then up, liquid falling from the top. Placing her head back out, and extending her hand inside the shaft, she allowed the liquid to fall into her hand. Pulling it to her, she view it, making a disgusted face. It was drool and lots of it. Just seeing this made her want to reconsider her desire to travel upward. But she had to find out what was happening within the library. She couldn't just leave. It would plague her thoughts until she found out fully. So gathering herself, she decided to go in, but not before her sea creature transformed, allowing her a ride upward, instead of having her climb all the way. Giving a nod, Nerida got on and then the two proceeded up, drool constantly falling.

For several moment Fira was focused on getting her foot out put soon paused, now really noticing the different feel to the ladder as she ran one hand along one of the bars before quickly wiping the damp feeling off on her shirt. She then ran the same hand back through her hair and the same warm dampness she felt on the ladder was in her hair and some disgust crossed her face. She was defiantly going to need a bath after she got out of this place.

Her eyes trailed up the ladder to the two dim lights she saw up at the top. Squinting her eyes the phoenix still could not make out what they were and so just like the harmless fireball she formed and threw down in the shaft she formed another harmless one in her hand and sent it flying up through the shaft towards the two lights. It hit the top of the shaft and flickered out of existence but it lit the shaft up enough for Fira to make out the form of a creature at the top and the phoenix gasped as she stared up at the darkening shaft as the light from the fireball faded.

Adrenaline shot through Fira’s body and she hurriedly began to twist her leg around and pull on it and finally freed it though she did slip in the process and slid down the ladder a few feet until she was able to grab a bar with both hands and pull herself up enough to wrap both arm around it until she was able to get her footing. Quickly she began climbing up the ladder once again, this time wanting to just get to the next level of door, pry them open, get out of there and more importantly away from the creature. However when she got to the next set of doors she had a new problem, she couldn’t open them, not like she did before and they wouldn’t budge with just her hands alone.

The phoenix sighed, ‘Guess I didn’t think that through.’ She began to climb down figuring it was better then heading towards the creature at the top of the shaft, then she saw another passage, the secret passage that she didn’t know was opened just before she had entered the elevator shaft and she began to descend a little faster stopping on level with the passage way, but her new problem was that it was on the opposing wall as the ladder and it would be one heck of a jump to reach it.

Kasark yells as he falls down the chute to the first floor, hitting the floor with a loud thud that echoed. "Ow!" He gets up and rubs his head.

((Kasark, the books are snapping like rabid animals and I made a chute under your character so that he could join the action on the first floor. Sitting there reading books while the whole Library is acting like a survival horror movie is really boring and I will stop responding.))

(("a hole down to the first below his feet, complete with slippery chute."))

The ghostly mute figure behind the front desk sighed as what appeared to be a man hurtled down from above to land on the floor. It extended its long arm to gesture towards the open elevator door with an apologetic sigh.

At the top of the shaft, the massive beast was just starting to stretch itself out. Its bonds had been loosened greatly by the continued button-pressing, and soon it would be free once more. A grin opened up in what was presumably the mouth of the shadowy creature, a maw far too wide and far too toothed, an opening of black darker than the darkness around it.

Kas looks at the ghostly figure and then looks up at the ceiling. As he began to look around, he saw the large dragon on the floor. He looks around, and takes a few careful steps, hoping another hole doesn't open up under him. After those few steps, he looks to the elevator and walks over, pressing the button for the elevator. Though he only hears the ding. "Broken...of course" His face showing a bit of frustration, he attempts to pry open the doors without success. So instead, he places his hand on the doors and sends an electrical current in to open the doors, which makes another ding sound. He looks around inside the dark shaft, feeling a moist sensation from it but dismisses it. Spotting a metal ladder inside, he grabs onto it and begins to climb up.

Fira the Phoenix

Fira lit another fire ball in her hand and this time threw it into the passage way that was cut into the opposing wall as the ladder she clung to, simply so she could have better sight of it. The fire ball landed just a little pass the entrance but this time stayed lit and helped to light up some of the elevator shaft around where she was. While she had the extra light she looked back up at the top of the shaft and was able to see the open mouth of the shadowy creature. The phoenix raised her brows and gasped a little before she returned her focus on jumping to the other side of the elevator shaft. She climbed a few feet higher on the ladder before she took a breath and then eyed her designated landing spot before she pushed off of the ladder taking a flying leap as her wings flicked out of her back and open only a little to help her glide a little further across the shaft.

She landed half in the entrance and her feet dangling over the edge into the shaft, and with a grunt she slowly pulled the lower half of her body up before turning around sitting for a moment to catch her breath as she let her feet dangle down over the edge into the elevator shaft.

The books behind Z were hardly the docile things he had been encountering so far. The snuffling continued, but possibly more worrying, the books no longer remained still. They twitched and strained against the man's hold, struggling against his control. The library was awake, and not just its monsters.

Z stopped and waited amoment. He felt the pulling, straining agenst his hold on the books increasing. Odd that books would suddenly become harder to hold. That was the only thing he could think of untill he turned and saw them twiching. He started to take a step forward.

Calm little ones, I only need the information you contain. No one wishes to harm you...

Z said alittle annoyedly. The last thing he wanted was to have to fight books of all things. Especailly the ones that he need to look into to make sure there wasnt anything of value inside of them. Z didnt reach a hand out to them, not yet sure if the books were going to calm down or what was going to happen. Better safe then sorry, especailly if it ment the loss of a finger or two.

The books only grew more agitated. This was not a time for giving up their information. The library was falling apart without its masters. Such a thing is quite traumatic and the books were not going to take it likely. Besides, what difference is there between taking books from a library with no librarians and stealing? As far as the books were concerned, the man was a thief, and they would not give up their treasured knowledge easily.

Kas looked up the latter, and saw a faint light up far above him. He continued climbing up, the latter getting slippery as he traveled up, getting closer to the source of light still a long way above him, his boots loud on the metal ladder.

Kokoro entered the large building with great caution. This was one of the biggest buildings she had been in, and the way it looked didn't make the new experience any easier. Even worse, when she read the sign that said that all customers were to stay on the bottom floor or go straight to the top floor. Somehow, curiosity consumed her, despite all of the oddities around her. Slowly, she began to walk through the building, sensing her husband somewhere higher in the building, moving upward. Most likely on a floor where it was off limits. "Rebelling as usual..." She mumbled to herself as she decided to scout a way up. She clicked on the button to the elevator, but it wouldn't work. "What the...?" Then she looks at the door which is already open. Kokoro gives it an odd expression, wondering why it would be open without an elevator to access. Curiously, she peers into the shaft and looks at the ladder. She then hears a clanking sound which is unfamiliar to her. Looking up, she sees a figure climbing the ladder, but is much too dark to recognize.

((Sorry I'm joining the rp this late. I hope that I've got a good understanding of what's going on. If I post something that doesn't make sense, please let me know and I'll be sure to edit it.))
