Tremors continued up from where seg had destroyed, wrecking everything on their way up to the surface. From the streets of Eden the oasis appeared to boil as chunks of the underground citys roof began to give way, allowing the passage of water down. All would be under water soon.

Karasu smiled augustly as Renlu demolished the final pillar. Suddenly, violent tremors erupted throughout the entire city. Yousei froze in place and simply watched the water cascade into the subterranean metropolis. Karasu immediately grabbed hold of Witium and Yousei and gathered them onto her back, before quickly beating her wings against the crumbling roof. She then leapt into the air, though she quickly realized their mistake: they had no means of escape. The city was below a thick layer of earth, and the only way that they could possibly vacate the God-forsaken city was to travel through the raging torrent which surged forth before them... Even if they were to claw their way through the stone and loam, they would merely be welcomed by yet another violent outpour produced by the oasis above. Yousei had realized this as well, ~How do we get out?!~

~I'm not sure,~ Karasu replied, anxiously circling above the city, as it was quickly swept away...

Aeronwy saw them destroy the support pillars. He smiled. Everything seemed to be going well. Then he saw the water. "I've never been happier to have these things," he said, gesturing at his gills. "How do you guys plan to get out? You humans have an irritating tendency to drown."

Julianna surveyed their predicament.

"We could have gone with the other plan, you guys know that." She sighed heavily but jokingly and pulled out her pipe. A quick modification of the tune she had been planning to play and all the water around them stopped in place. It was still entirely liquid, but it was as if somebody had pressed pause. She dared not stop playing long enough to speak, but made a gesture of urgency to the others, pointing up to the surface.

Witium patted Karasu's back as he sat on it, "I guess we just ram our way through the water up to the surface." He grabbed the bard and sat her on karasu too. From there he gave a shrug and waited for the others to act.

"I'll follow you guys up there. Bard, feel free to release that spell once everyone's safe, don't wait for me." He turned towards the wall of suspended water, a grin spreading across his face. "This will be fun."

Karasu and Yousei simultaneously heaved a sigh of relief as the waters froze in time. Karasu nodded to Witium, wincing a bit as Julianna was suddenly placed on her back. Three commuters was her limit.. She silently wondered if she would be able to make it through the compelling outpour with so many passengers.. It would have been contingent enough for her to sail through on her own, but now...


Yousei looked at her dragon's indeterminate expression, and then turned to Julianna who was still playing emphatically. They hadn't much time. Yousei turned back to her dragon and looked into her eyes. Karasu returned the hell bent stare, before turning to face to the rushing waters ahead. She beat her wings once or twice as if preparing to charge the downpour, and then leapt forth, ~Hold fast...~ Yousei clamped tightly onto her dragon's neck with both arms, and inhaled deeply.


She met the cascade with vehement determination, charging upwards into the fray. Her wings folded to her sides, only used when necessary, the dragon moved through the waters as though she had been built specifically to maneuver within them. Her body moved as would a dolphin's, charging up into the frozen downpour.

Aeronwy saw the water rush at them, and he dove into the cascade, relishing the feeling of the water sweeping over him. He swam forward with ease, taking his time. He looked back at the dragon and her passengers. Will they make it out before they drown? I hope so. I'll miss my chance for a big adventure if they don't.

Witium grasped on tightly to the dragon. He tried to not to take in air in fear of drowning. All the while his eyes were tightly closed. The movement through the thick water was awkward and also strenuous, it almost ripped him off karasu's back.

Yousei shut her eyes tightly as they slowly ascended the frozen waters. Karasu kept her eyes on the dark waters above, as she forced herself onward. She turned to see Aeronwy effortlessly maneuvering through the waters and attempted to catch up to him, but to no avail... She continued sluggishly moving through the rushing waves, though her movements were swift and cogent.


Yousei was beginning to feel her lungs' strain, as she held them full. Even Karasu was growing weary, though her movements failed to show it. She continued to charge her way through the waters, eyeing the passage through which they had fallen. That was her goal. She was slowly drawing nearer to it, though she knew that her time was precious, and she could not afford to keep this pace. Yousei knew this as well. Suddenly, an idea struck her, though she knew that she may very well die attempting it. The young Elf clutched the dragon much tighter, and prayed. Her chest began to emit an azure effulgence as her hands grew alight with an argentate gleam. Karasu felt the Elf's energy being transferred to her and did not question it, as she charged through the blitz.


Finally, they had done it. Karasu burst through the passage and forced her way through the rushing waters to the surface. Immediately, she exhaled and took in the precious air around her, positioning herself so that the others could do the same. The waters surrounding her were violent, and she used the last ounce of her strength to make it to shore... Once there, she collapsed and smiled weakly at her master, though the young Elf did not return the gesture...

Witium gasped for air as they ascended to the surface. He looked back and saw the level of the water slowly sink, "I think we did it, Yousei. The cults pretty wrecked by now." A soft harty laugh came him as he tried to recuperate. Water dripped from his ahir and clothes as he petted Karasu's side, "Man we're lucky to have you around Karasu." A content smile creeped along his face as he looked to the slow sinking lake.

Aeronwy silently watched this all happen. But then, after the group had gotten out of the water, he felt the water level begin to drop. "Woah, I'd better get out of here." He swam towards shore and met up with the three strangers on the dragon. The elf girl looked rather pale and tired, and Aeronwy wondered what was wrong with her.

After everyone had left, like clockwork, the water burst from it's hold and continued to fill the underground city. Buildings began to collapse as walls caved in all around the city. The oasis filled in the city as much as possible, leaving a nearly empty oasis in the center of the village. People from all around the village came to watch as the few emerged and their life source was drained.

"The death of my home," Kraid growled, staring back towards the village, his abyssmal optical cavities deepened by his conflicting emotions...

Seg watched as the water filled the cavern then saw the silver dragon Karusu crash through the torrent of water above.

Clenching his fangs he closed his eyes then opened them again with a flash of yellow light blinked and looked to the torrent. "Time to leave...."

Up above the oasis continued to flow in. At that moment the water exploded into the sky. The waters swirled around a shadowed figure inside with yellow glowing eyes. With a roar Seg burst forth from the water creating a water rain down around. He looked down below to see if everyone was okay.

With a loud, discordant blat, Julianna blew the water out of her flute.

"Well, we'll never be invited to another party at Eden, now will we?" She smiled at those around her who still were conscious for several seconds, until she became aware that steadily, a large number of fairly angry people were amassing.

"You still with us, Elf Girl?" She knelt down by the deathly pale Yousei and checked for a pulse on her clammy wrist.

"It's weak, and I'm too exhausted to play her back. Anybody else got any bright ideas?" She looked around imploringly at the rest of the party as she felt Yousei grow weaker.
