I actually agree that one should be safe FIRST, and THEN have fun. Unfortunately too much today is about FUN and THEN safety, which leads to all kinds of problems. Girls staying in relationships with jerks, because the lovely chemicals from sex make them think they are really trustworthy and loveable. Or get preggers. Spreading of STDs. All kinds of badness gonk

There's a lot of that with drinking. I personally think there should be a license thing with drinking. Kind of like with driving, if you do something stupid with it, it gets revoked. Not to mention put some limiters on it, ESPECIALLY with the younger crowd. Teach them to respect the drink and CONTROL IT, instead of letting BOOZE CONTROL THEM. Not to mention you can die from too much booze, and it can lead you to kill people with cars and trucks crying crying

Limit alcohol? But then how will we get people to go to college? *joking*

here one has to wait until 16 to buy alcohol but in reality one begins drinking wine and beer as a child 3nodding it ish simply what people drink with dinner instead of cola ninja what thish does ish it removes teh coolness and adultness of alcohol so young people are not tempted to drink what they are not prepared for 3nodding people usually only obsess ovah what they cannot have sweatdrop

I don't know if thats really a good idea, for they are just at the age to receive a driver's license and to give them the legal right to purchase alcohol at the same time.... I think 18 would be a better age, if they are old enough to live on their own, see R-rated films, and purchase cigarettes, I think they should be old enough to drink. 16 isn't really a good age for that even if some might be less tempted if its seem less of an adult activity. There are many scenarios with lowering the age restrictions on things, many which even use that point to argue it. But just because you make it seem less taboo doesn't mean less people would do it, rather you open up the possibility of exposing more that don't have that weakness to it legally. In other words, those that normally wouldn't have those temptations to things that seem more adult, now have that option legally. Think about it, just as many people think that if the government allows then it must be okay, as kids that think the its cool because adults do it.

Also, provisional drinking or a drinking licence is unenforcible, people can still abuse it and the government not know about it. It would also be impracticable, you can't have law enforcement with them every time they go out to drink to see if they aren't abusing the rules. And parents these days hardly ever discipline their children even if they are aware of the trouble they get into. So relying on them to monitor their drinking is not going to help much either.
