I went to Maine when I was 10, I don't recall the accent, though. Okay, these are really bad examples, and Mainers don't actually sound like that, but you get the idea. It's a lot like the Boston accent, only a lot thicker. & Not everyone has it. Lots of people on the coast do though. Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 Example 4 Example 3 is great, because it's actual people, instead of actors. In the 4th, Jud is the one with the Maine accent. Makes me giggle. rofl
Maine accents are actually a lot thicker than that.

CuriousKitty It strikes me as country...is that sad? D: No. It's basically true. Maine only has a couple of cities. & They don't compare with big cities at all. So the accent reflects that.
