Seriously.
Don't think gender really influences if I like friendship turning into more or not, but I do have a warm, fuzz place in my heart just reserved for bromances. XD And that skit sounds great. I've only played a tiny bit of Metal Gear, but I'm into the fandom decently, so my guess is the other character was Otakon.
Um, sure? Don't actually know what that is, but sure. XD

I think just in general a lot of the girl/guy friendships either seem to forced or get too awkward for me. It's not so much what it is, just how it's usually done. Granted it's also canon a lot more likely which is probably why. Not that I dislike it because it's canon, but it's forced into realms of awkwardness and drama because it's canon.
Since I have a name I will Google...yes, it was Otakon. ^_^ Yea the skit was cute.
I think mainly I knew Spy vs Spy because they were used in commercials in the 90s, I never really got into the series. But her art is fantastic and makes me want to be in the series. It's a lot of slash and suggestiveness, I love it. sweatdrop

Yeah, I can definitely see that; like two characters that start out as friends were intended to fall for each other in the beginning as the typical guy/girl couple. Then it is forced and they don't actually have a friendship to start with, but rather an awkward stage of fighting and drama. Though I tend not to care for those; I usually go for pairing male/female friendships that weren't really intended to be couples in the first place.
Yay. XD
Ooh, so what's Spy vs Spy about then?

Yea, I think so many series that make guys/girls friends (particularly in teenage age series) always have the intended couple factor which is probably why I don't get into a lot of those pairings. Fewer series obviously intend for two guy friends to end up together so it's not as irritating. And while I'm not into yuri, girl friends usually get catty and drama filled just naturally, so that would probably turn me off those friend pairings even if i was into that. I think the few series where I've liked the idea of girl/guy friends as couples have been where they were just kids in the series and so there isn't much there to be annoying (because even if it's hinted it would never be pursued canon anyhow). Like I liked Abigail (5) and Nigel (1) in Kids Next Door as a hypothetical couple (and 3 + 4, even though there were hints of that in the show, but as children it clearly wasn't going anywhere and 4 was still such a boy about it).
And if you are seeing this post first I linked the skit on the abridged thread (because that's totally related xd ) as well as a couple of others if you are curious. It's a good skit, and one of the links is just violin so you could just listen to that in the background rather than watch it (she's dressed as Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji, but she's just playing, there's no skit part to it - it's very intense and in character in that sense).
Spy vs Spy is a black and white comic strip that debuted in Mad magazine in the sixties. They look exactly the same save for one is white and one is black, but are constantly battling and setting traps. For awhile there was a third, Lady Grey, and she always wins whenever she did appear so black and white would be like GRR!! They've also made cartoons and other stuff. Dark Penguin does really awesome slash art of Black and White, as well as other characters who may or may not be canon to the series (or parts of the series, it's spun off in a few ways). I'm unsure, I was mainly familiar with them via advertising and short cartoon spoofs. I like her art and comics so much I considered checking out the real thing, but honestly her stuff is probably better. But she doesn't do a lot, or as much as I'd like.
Some of DPs Spy vs Spy stuff:
Her black and white: http://darkpenguin.deviantart.com/art/Who-is-it-69248711?q=favby:juokaskurvas/6126802&qo=27
Bit of slash: http://juokaskurvas.deviantart.com/favourites/?offset=24#/d278lrf
Including characters besides White and Black: http://darkpenguin.deviantart.com/art/I-have-one-simple-request-164511625?q=favby:juokaskurvas/6126802&qo=15
I'm sure she's done Lady Grey at some point, but I'd have to go find it as I've never saved any of that to my favorites. I originally started following DP because I love her South Park stuff (and she does some Cartman/Kyle slash), and just kinda ended up liking her spies more.
Err, hope the links work, I realize they are going through my favorites and I'm too lazy to go to the source now. sweatdrop

Haha, it's sad how easily guy/guy seems to win out in pop culture so much. ^^;; I mean, at least for people who really analyze how pairings tend to get set up and work.
Oh that sounds pretty awesome, I'll check it out.
Hm, I like the art except... ugh, their face shapes are just guh... it takes all the prettiness out of it... XP
And yeah, the links are fine. That's one thing I'll give DA; their links always work regardless of if you get to them through gallery, favorites, search, what have you.

I think pop culture just REALLY hates women, and portrays them as only whiny, dramatic and bitchy, especially when they are feeling romantic. xd
Hahaha, that's how Spy vs Spy's faces are though (well black and white), so while sometimes I'd be intrigued to see her draw faces for them it wouldn't be quite as "authentic." Heh, I think the faces kinda bothered me at first, but I just got used to it. It's who they are, I like 'em in spite of their weird ol' deformed faces. rofl
I figured they probably would, which is why I could be bothered to do otherwise, heh.

True that. XP
Eh, yeah I'd probably get used to it, but I don't want to get used to something that I find ugly to begin with. XD;; I think it bothers me most that they're not even like caricatures of human faces; they're just giant beak things and nothing more. So I have a hard time seeing the characters as human, yet they seem to be represented as such...

Well I'm probably also partially used to it because I know the series (enough) and that's just how the cartoon is, so it's not like something I think of as a deformity. It's more of an improvement on the original if anything. So it wasn't a huge thing to "get used to", just more of a different thing to start seeing as attractive would be a better way to put it for myself.
However SvS is the only series where they have beaks, so if you do actually like the style DP does do fanart of other series (I mean South Park is originally why I started following), so perhaps you'd find something that style but less deformed. Unless she starts doing crossovers, dun dun dun! ^_~

I see, ahah.
True enough, but do I honestly need even more artists to keep up with every day...? XD;;
And OMG on topic post! I had a Yuugiou dream a few nights back:
So the dream began in the setting of our RP, though slightly into the future. Jounouchi had been living at the Kaiba manor for some time now, and Kaiba was pretty much recovered, but I guess the two had somehow decided that Jounouchi would keep staying. What was interesting about the dream though was that both Kaiba and Jounouchi had living situations/relations/past experiences that I have. For example, the ‘manor’ they were staying in was actually just my old house, which, while a big house, was by no means a mansion. That’s really the only thing I shared with Kaiba though; everything else that refers to ‘my’ things, such as relatives, are actually ‘Jounouchi’s ‘ in the dream. Expectantly, I was also ‘playing’ Jounouchi in the dream.
Alright, so Kaiba and Jounouchi are returning back to the manor after being out doing… something. The dream started here, so I don’t know what they were doing, but I’m just gonna assume they were at a gay bar or something, because I can. XD When they were returning to my old house/Kaiba’s place, they expected that Shizuka and Mokuba were playing at a neighbor’s house (yes, apparently Shizuka started living with them as well, and hit it off with Mokuba) (also, all the neighbors in the dream were my old neighbors from the old house, though strangely the dream seemed to imply that they were Jounouchi’s neighbors rather than Kaiba’s, even though it was Kaiba’s house) with three kids from my old neighborhood, plus a bunch of my (Jounouchi’s) nieces/nephews. My/Jounouchi’s aunt (the one that in real life has leukemia) was babysitting all the kids as they played; apparently Shizuka was not old enough. XD
So Jounouchi went to the neighbors to pick up Mokuba and Shizuka, while Kaiba went to the manor/my house. When Jounouchi got to the neighbor’s house, however, no one was there. He went back to tell Kaiba, to see that Kaiba was investigating the front door. In the dream version of my house, the front door was made completely of glass, with just wooden frames, but someone had smashed through it. The two went into the house to investigate, and the whole place was messed up. Shizuka and Mokuba were still no in sight. As they were looking around and trying to figure out how to handle this, the phone rang. Jounouchi answered it, and, really, really strangely, it was my preschool teacher. (I had four preschool teachers all together, because I went two years, being too young to start kindergarten, and each class had a teacher and an assistant teacher. The one I was dreaming of, I don’t remember what year she was from, but she was the lead teacher, not the assistant. However, I can’t remember any of those teacher’s names except the assistant’s to the lead teacher I was dreaming of. Her name was Mrs. Payton, and since I couldn’t remember the actual teacher’s name, my dream called her Mrs. Payton instead; I’ll refer to her as such in this description.
What’s also odd is that this same teacher I have dreamed of before. In the dream, I needed more Japanese credit for college, but the only class I could get into was one where I assisted teaching Japanese to preschoolers, so I went to my old preschool and taught with that old teacher, ‘Mrs. Payton.’ In the dream, she acted as if I was one of the students instead of helping her teach, and would give me their math work and such. I, being a college student, easily did all the work, as well as the Japanese, and she got mad that I was so ahead. I tried to explain I was here to teach, not to be taught, but she just was angry with me and kept giving me more work. So apparently in this dream I had last night, Jounouchi had had the same experiences with this teacher; first having had her in preschool, then having actually experienced my other dream with her, where he went back to teach. Because of this, he knew she didn’t like him.
Going back to the dream story, Mrs. Payton called and Jounouchi answered. She said that she was holding my/his niece (my second-oldest sister’s daughter) hostage. She said she had attacked all the children playing in the neighborhood, and now that niece (Kaylee, for future reference) was recovering in the hospital. However, Mrs. Payton had disguised herself and others as nurses and doctors, and they had control over the hospital. So no one knew there was a hostage situation. She told Jounouchi and Kaiba to come to the hospital with a ransom, and not to tell anyone about this. She hung up before Jounouchi could ask about Shizuka and all the other kids.
Panicking, Jounouchi tried calling the aunt who had been watching all the kids, but there was no answer. Shortly after, he got another call from Mrs. Payton. She said that she was tracking his phone, and knew he had called someone, so not to dare do something like that again. She said that if his aunt ended up calling him back, she would kill Kaylee, then hung up again. Jounouchi told Kaiba what was going on, but Kaiba was just pissed and was going off to look for Mokuba. Jounouchi said he had a plan, but Kaiba wouldn’t listen, not caring about Jounouchi’s family, but just his brother. Jounouchi managed to convince Kaiba though that since Mokuba was playing with Kaylee, if they find Kaylee, they might find Mokuba and Shizuka and all the others as well. Kaiba reluctantly agreed to this, and said he’d hear Jounouchi’s plan out.
Jounouchi wanted to leave the house and walk to a nearby neighbor’s, maybe a few streets down. Then they could ask to borrow a phone, so they knew that one wouldn’t be being tracked. He wanted to call the police and explain the situation, then suggest that the police pretend to be hospital workers and secretly infiltrate it. Mrs. Payton wouldn’t be threatened by them, so wouldn’t kill Kaylee. But then when they went into Kaylee’s room, they would suddenly turn on Mrs. Payton and stop her. Kaiba didn’t want to admit it, but thought it was probably their best bet, so agreed to the plan.
The two headed off and started going to different streets. Within the actual dream, there was actually a little montage of them stopping at different houses, Kaiba asking if that one was good, and Jounouchi saying, “No, it’s still too close.” Or “No, I have a bad feeling about this one.” Or “No, this one’s ugly.” It was a weird little comedy bit of just scrolling through all these comments and houses real quick. Finally, they settled on a house and knocked on the door. A lady answered, and Jounouchi asked to use her phone. She freaked out at first and thought they were solicitors, saying she wasn’t interested in buying anymore… something I can’t remember. Jounouchi stopped her before she got back inside and said he needed to use her phone to call the police, and that it was an emergency.
Hearing that, the lady quickly changed, saying, “Oh, of course!” and giving them the phone, even dialing 911 for them. Jounouchi got in contact with a cop, and the cop was all businessy and asking for Jounouchi’s name. Jounouchi said he couldn’t give it because he might be being tracked (though quickly realized after saying that that it was stupid, since if this phone were being tracked, it wouldn’t matter if he said his name; Mrs. Payton would know what he was doing by the story he told anyway), but the cop assumed Jounouchi meant someone was looking for him and could find him if he gave his name. Jounouchi then tried to explain the situation, but as he started a nearby neighbor turned on a leaf blower. It was so loud, no one could hear anything, so Jounouchi and Kaiba started running off a few streets down so they could hear.
Jounouchi was shouting into the phone “Sorry, someone is making noise, I’m trying to move away.” And stuff like that, but it was so loud he couldn’t even hear his own voice shouting. When he finally made it far away, he started trying to say all the important stuff he could think of, pretty much rambling these points: That his niece was kidnapped, she’s in a hospital in Arizona, the kidnapper is an Arizonan Christian preschool teacher who’s last name is Payton. As he started trying to go into more detail, suddenly he saw Mrs. Payton in the distance coming for them.
At this point, the dream became very similar to a survival horror game where a monster or murderer chases you, and if they catch you even for a moment, you ‘die.’ This was so similar to a game that Mrs. Payton actually would catch them at times, and if either of them died, I would have to ‘reset’ the game and Jounouchi and Kaiba would have to replay that part just before they died. Mrs. Payton started chasing Kaiba and Jounouchi, at first with a gun. Jounouchi couldn’t talk on the phone because of this, and it ended up getting hung up. Mrs. Payton would also change forms, like first two a rhinoceros, but when she turned into this, she would curl herself up into a wheel shape and zoom after them really quick like a car, but just as a single rolling rhino. I think she also turned into some other animal forms, maybe a gorilla, but I can’t remember very well. So Kaiba and Jounouchi kept running and trying to get away from her so they could continue the phone call.
As they ran, Kaiba figured out that she probably never wanted a ransom, but was just trying to lure them to her so she could kill them. Jounouchi said this was probably because she wanted revenge on him for the Japanese teaching incident, as well as revenge on his nieces/nephews, who were apparently in her class right now and causing a lot of trouble. So they eventually managed to run to the beach, then run to this island that was so nearby, the water was shallow enough on the way not to swim. On the island Jounouchi tried to call the police again, but unfortunately experienced a problem I often have in dreams; he kept trying to dial the numbers, yet seemed to just keep pressing the wrong ones by accident. Before he could figure it out, Mrs. Payton found them, now riding a giant combination of a tractor and ship. She rose the tractor ship across the water to the island, so Jounouchi and Kaiba ran into the water and split up. She would chase one, but he would dodge, so then she’d turn and chase the other. As one was being chased, the other would get further and further away, until both of them made it to shore like this. The tractor boat couldn’t go on shore, so they got time to run away while she took time to change form again.
As they were being chased by Mrs. Payton, another creature appeared occasionally. He was tall and kind of broad, though about completely covered by a cloak. He would always appear, standing in the distance, then shoot lasers at the two. So they had to avoid him too. They managed to run away into a seemingly abandoned house; it was like a small storage house, but had two stories, was dark (though had a lot of glassless windows where sun shined through), and had old stuff stored here and there. It reminded me a lot of an attic. Anyway, Kaiba and Jounouchi made it into this house, but before they could try to call the police again, Mrs. Payton had already found them. She went upstairs and chased them a bit, but they managed to lose her and get back downstairs and outside. They were about to run off, but there were stairs both inside and outside (one leading to a balcony on the second floor that lead inside), and Mrs. Payton started coming down the stairs.
Now, as she came down, she was in this big, burly bird form, reminding me of a large old woman traveling in a cloak all hunched over. Following her was the same thing as she was, but about half the size. Apparently this was her child, and the baby would help her find Kaiba and Jounouchi. The stairs that came down outside would go down in a boxy swirl, so the Mrs. Paytons would face one way coming down, then turn clockwise and face another way, and so on until they got to the bottom. Jounouchi and Kaiba figured out that if they remained to her side instead of in front, she couldn’t see them, so they would move around the stairs with her, then wait until she turned her back to them and try to run off.
However, now that the baby was there two, there were two Mrs. Paytons going down the stairs at separate times, so while one was facing away from them, the other would be facing towards them. Jounouchi and Kaiba kept getting caught like that, and I would have to ‘reset’ that part and keep repeating it with different strategies. Finally, in the menu after resetting, I found an option about the ‘baby Easter Egg.’ Apparently Mrs. Payton suddenly having a baby was considered an Easter Egg in the game, but you could turn the difficulty down on it. So I made it that instead of having an almost full-grown child helping her, she only had a newborn about the size of an action figure that she carried on her back. This helped because the newborn couldn’t assist her at all now, but it also made Mrs. Payton faster because she no longer had as much weight to carry with her baby. (I know she wasn’t carrying the baby previously, but it made sense in the dream XD)
Regardless of her speeding up, Kaiba and Jounouchi managed to get away this time, and as they were running, they found a power up on the ground. The power up allowed them to transform into the rhino wheel form that Mrs. Payton had, so somehow Jounouchi and Kaiba both transformed into one rhino together (I guess a merging of sorts; interpret that with a Freudian mentality if you so desire), and started doing the spinning wheel thing to go really fast. Mrs. Payton transformed into the rhino wheel too, and started chasing them like that. There was a lot of maneuvering and dodging, but eventually Kaiba/Jounouchi!Rhino managed to get ahead and in a straight line, and as they rolled they saw a fence coming up. Enclosed in the small fence was a giant tree with a sign on it that said “Goal.”
The Kaijou Rhino drove over some ramps that boosted them over the fence, and they hit the tree. As they hit it, the Rhino turned back into Kaiba and Jounouchi, and the two each grasped around the tree trunk to catch themselves. Jounouchi thought they were safe in this goal area, so looked up at Kaiba, but saw Mrs. Payton, now in a small, cute little girl form, sitting on top of Kaiba’s shoulders. She giggled and said that she got to the goal too. Jounouchi freaked out and tried to climb to the top of the tree, where she couldn’t be above him, but when he got to the top, Mrs. Payton was suddenly on his shoulders instead. She forced Kaiba and Jounouchi back down near the bottom of the trunk (though they still had their arms and legs wrapped around it), then tied their hands and feet like that, so they were stuck hugging the tree.
Mrs. Payton told them she couldn’t actually hurt them while they were in the goal area, but she could still hurt Kaylee. She said they could easily break the ties attaching them to the tree if they wanted, and leave to continue heading to the hospital, letting the chase continued. Or they could stay tied, where they would be safe from her. Kaiba and Jounouchi were thinking that if they waited tied here long enough, Mrs. Payton would eventually grow bored and leave, and then they could go to the hospital. They decided this, but Mrs. Payton just smirked and suddenly went over to a machine they hadn’t noticed before. It looked like the super computer in space ships with all the launch buttons. She activated it, and suddenly a bunch of little Mrs. Paytons (not babies, more like minions, and they all looked like smaller versions of her cute little girl form) jumped out to attack. Mrs. Payton said she couldn’t hurt them here, but her minions could.
This somehow activated another transformation in Kaiba and Jounouchi, where they turned into the three Powerpuff Girls. XD (I know, WTF?) The minions immediately began sapping energy from the Powerpuff Girls. Buttercup caught on after losing about half her energy and jumped out of the goal area, hunching over there to catch her breath. Bubbles just completely got her energy sapped and collapsed in the goal area. Blossom caught on what was happening, and flew over to the machine with the control pad and pushed it, causing the energy they had collected to go back to her, and away from the minions. Blossom gave Bubbles back some of the energy, then the three Powerpuff Girls gathered together to destroy all the minions and Mrs. Payton. After doing so, they turned back into Kaiba and Jounouchi.
Just then, the cloaked guy who had been shooting lasers at them earlier appeared, but said he wouldn’t attack. He told them Mrs. Payton had been an alien who came to earth. She was attempting to launch Kaiba and Jounouchi into space through that tree (it was really a disguised rocket) after sapping their energy. He said he worked for her, but felt no need to now that she was gone. He also said she had been trying to bring peace to the earth, but had gone about it the wrong way (don’t ask me how what she did could bring peace; I have no idea). He said in return for chasing them and all the problems he and Mrs. Payton caused, they could use her rocket (which he made transform into a flying machine instead) to get to the hospital, where they could get Kaylee. Kaiba and Jounouchi agreed to walk instead, not trusting this guy still.
They made it to the hospital, and Jounouchi’s aunt, as well as all but one of his nieces/nephews/cousins were there, including Kaylee. They had all been held hostage, but were safe now. Jounouchi found out from his aunt that in the struggle to capture them, one niece (my oldest sister’s youngest daughter) and the three neighbors had been killed, and Mokuba and Shizuka had escaped and hidden. She said Mokuba and Shizuka probably would have returned to Kaiba’s place by now.
Jounouchi was upset to learn about the neighbors and his niece, but was too relieved that everyone else and Shizuka were okay to think much on it. Kaiba just wanted to find Mokuba, so dragged Jounouchi out of the hospital and back home. They were reunited with their siblings, and after that Kaiba and Jounouchi had managed to bond somewhat, and got along a lot better from then on.
The end!

Heh, yea probably not. DP is one of the few artists I follow and she rarely updates. I think I only follow about 5-6 artists (not counting yourself and Karma) and only about 2 update with any great frequency. I probably should follow more people on DA, maybe I'd be better about doing things with that account then.
Hehe, man that's a lot of detail to remember from a dream. Of course Shizuka isn't *cough*mentally*cough old enough to babysit, heh, j/k.
Aside from the dream, I think I started preschool when I was about 3? Or at least Montessori school from age 3, so I probably had a lot of formative instructors as well. Especially as the two schools I went to (one from like 3-4, the other 5-6) were both year round, one had a different summer location so the staff would change over in summer. Again were the lines break for me is kind of confusing, like when I transferred into an elementary school I started at 2nd grade, that's the age I was so perhaps that was why, but I really have no mental break of where Kindergarten and/or first grade lined up. The only thing that stood out is one day I ran to go play with toys and was told no, I had to go sit at the table and actually learn stuff this year, but again being year round I can't really say where that year began. Just literally one day I had to go learn. I assume that was 1st grade. There were about 5-7 of us (Ali, Fabian, Hannah and Cassandra were with me the whole time. However at some point I remember a Kasey and a Roger, but not sure if they weren't there all year, or where they line up in age with myself). Anyhow yea, point being it was all weird. My brother had to do Kindergarten for 2 years because he was too young to start first at a normal elementary school (by 3 days), even though he had already done K and there was no actual intellect or maturity reason to make him repeat it. Montessori doesn't care how old you are so you just do whatever grade when you are ready (they kept track of grades, I'm just saying I personally have no idea when I was where until after I was already out of there).
Anyhow yea, back to your dream...although I think that other Mrs. Payton dream is slightly more interesting, at least in terms of Freudian interpretive analysis, heh.
Hahaha, I like how they can't use a phone in an "ugly" house during a hostage situation, because that's what's most important.
Anyhow odd dream, totally writing off the dead people in the end. At least Kaylee was ok, she's more important than her...I dunno, sister/cousin/etc (kinda lose track of chronology without names). xd

Oh, I see how it is. So Karma and I don't count eh? XD
I have dreams like that very rarely, though occasionally, where I just remember so much friggin' detail like that.
Man, preschool and such was so confusing; everyone was doing different things for it. Though I remember I had to learn and do homework in kindergarten. And even preschool for that matter!
Ooh, what is your Freudian analysis? XD
Yes, Jounouchi needs his fabulous houses for fabulous phone calls, thank you.
...admittedly, I am actually more fond of Kaylee than the one that died (also a niece)... but I don't consider one more important than the other. XD;;

Hahaha, I meant count of people I don't know at all and only follow for their art, you guys count so much more that you can't be consider part of this superficial personality-less count. xd Although I have read DP's journal entries on occasion, everyone else though they are identity-less art. And I think I know you guys a bit too well to count you as identity-less art. sweatdrop
Even when I remember a lot of detail I just usually can't hold onto dialogue and/or motive, so it's hard to thread it together as a cohesive dream in retelling, even when I know it is.
Yea I'm sure I did work in preschool, I mean I did learn to read and write and everything then, it's just weird sorting out how it worked. And then after that "immediately separated to the table" year it was all obvious work except for recess. I mean that memory might only stick as a separation in work level, when really it was just a separation in how to start the day, but I don't remember all that. But yeah preschool isn't required, so even at the state level there aren't really very many across the board standards.
Well, your dream details you getting abused and picked on, not just by other children but by an authority figure, because you excelled in school. While you were an adult in your dream it takes you back into a formative setting. Now this doesn't necessarily connect with Mrs. Payton, who might have been a wonderful assistant teacher, and/or you at least only have wonderful memories of her. This probably just reflects you feeling caged into a primitive system without encouragement to excel. You know you can, yet you are being taught that you aren't supposed to. Hahaha, ok I'm just going to stop. Basically my thoughts were just along the whole picked on for doing well in school, particularly at that young of a level. I mean generally people who find preschoolers (even though you weren't in the dream you were being treated like one) who are above of the curve exceptional and want to give them advantages to further their progress, not punish them.
Hahahaha...I was going to go Freudian comment on how one niece who was saved got named, and the other who died didn't...but I decided not to touch on that. xd

Haha, I know, I'm just teasing you.
Well, usually in detailed dreams I hardly remember some logical connectors, and like points between two different scenes, but it's always such small things that I just figure out the easiest way to connect things, while still keeping all the dream components. Like that guy that shot lasers? I don't actually remember what point in the dream he showed up for the first time (though I definitely remembered when in the second time), but I knew it was some point during the chase scene, so I stuck him in where it seemed to work best.
Ah, I see. XD Actually, well... no, that's pretty spot on. I don't remember feeling held back so much in preschool, but definitely in elementary school. I remember I corrected a teacher in math once and she got mad at me. Similar thing happened to my dad; a teacher was teaching fractions and she asked him if he'd rather have a half a pie or a quarter of a pie. He said a quarter, and she said he was wrong. He said he wasn't, and explained he couldn't eat an entire half a pie. He wasn't being a smartass; just honestly answering the question. And yeah, I remember really liking Mrs. Payton (the teacher I was dreaming of, not the actual Mrs. Payton assistant who's name I used to identify the real teacher; the real Mrs. Payton was kind of a b***h), so thought it was weird I've had two evil dreams of her.
Oh, you stop it jerk. XD The reason I named only Kaylee was for purely practical reasons; I don't like naming people in real life online for some reason, but since Kaylee was mentioned so much, it was just too inconvenient not to have a name to identify her by. It wasn't necessary for the other niece, but if you must know, her name is McKenna.

Ahh, ok, I've done that as well. Generally for my own records I try to just drop details, or give them in whatever chaotic order I have them. It doesn't make as good a story, so I probably tell the dream different then I log it, but I kinda want to chart a more authentic pattern on how I dream rather than just on what. In part also because I don't remember dreams very often.
It's probably more interesting that a teacher you did like and respect took the place of ones you didn't. Just really don't know how. But yea that sucks, so many teachers do that, there are so many teachers who just should not be, and I don't know why they do. It's not a high paying career. I don't know if they just thought they'd like teaching and children. I know myself well enough to know I wouldn't be happy as a K-12 teacher, but especially elementary. I'd feel so stagnant, and that's not what I want. I know people who excel there, it's their personality and that's great. But I know I'd morph into one of those resentful teachers, and even if I managed to control not taking out on my kids how is that worth it? I luckily had the opposite experiences personally (though I'd watch friends in other classes or at other schools who didn't). I had a lot of amazing teachers, and the worst elementary teacher I had (who was not the one who got fired weirdly) didn't really discourage me. She didn't help me, but she paired me up with a girl in our class who was about 2-3 years older (they had immigrated from Vietnam, and eventually she ended up skipping the grades to where she should be, but complications with transfers originally put her and her older sister and younger brother - he ended up in my class, and one of the top students in my class at that - in lower grades) and ahead in math as well. So we could help each other.
Hahaha, hey hey, I was just teasing! razz I understand I'm the same way, I wouldn't use this profile in guilds or anything originally because it was weird being "me" online, even though this clearly isn't even my name. So I used my mule account which somehow seemed detached from myself, and when I got more comfortable with posting and talking online I eventually went back to this one. And I care less I suppose, though I still don't usually post my name in the forums. Though not even for obvious reasons like stranger fear. Just, it seems weird to be Gail online. I think FB really becoming a social network has finally started to dispel that for me. I can wrap my mind around an online identity. I dunno, it's weird. xd

I prefer my dreams to make at least connective sense than to be as close to my memory as possible, plus generally the times I need to add connectors are so rare that it doesn't perturb me.
Sounds pretty good; glad things went like that for you. I had some good teachers like that, though too many definitely were not.
Yeah, I don't even know why I'm uncomfortable saying names. I mean, it's not like someone is gonna be like, "Oh, her niece is named McKenna? Let me research Courtneys in Arizona who have a niece named McKenna and connect it to this person, then I'll go to their house and kill them." It just bothers me for some reason, and I haven't had the Facebook experience to change that.
