Kokoro looks up at the figure and calls to them, "Down here! There's an escape for you here! Get out of this shaft!" She then turned to Kas. "Its up to them. They'll know what to do, so lets get out of here. We'll meet up with them later." Kirei flew threw the entry way and then shrunk back to her normal size when we both could land on our feet. "I don't think it would be wise to try and go up any higher now. Whatever it was that broke free probably isn't a very happy soul."

Fira stopped hearing the roar of the beast herself and looked down the passage way to the other end that opened right up into the elevator shaft. She raised her brows, knowing that the thing defiantly sounded like it finally got lose.

"Probably not, if it was bound up." He looks down the hallway. "But we should keep moving just in case it decides to come after us."

"Okay... but where to?" Kokoro looked around the dark hallway that only got darker and darker as you went down the hall. "Hmm... Maybe we should shed some light on the situation." Using her primary element, Kokoro summoned a small ball of flame to her hand which she used as a torch and walked down the hallway, ready to throw it at any enemy.

Kasark followed his wife down the hallway, as Anu flew back to him. "It's a shadow beast, and it looked hungry...and mad, very very mad." Kas looks back towards the shaft. The entrance to it is fading away in the darkness as we move forward.

If Fira continued farther down the passageway, she would find that the door (and the wall at the end of the passageway) was at an odd angle, opening downwards at something like a forty-five degree angle.

The pair in the hallway, however, would find it growing darker. There were no windows on these floors and the shelves were suspiciously empty of anything but dust and cobwebs. Even their footsteps on the carpet kicked up soft puffs of dust. It seemed as if no one had been around here for a while. The circle of light from the ball of flame slowly grew smaller, the shadows around it darkening. The roaring still erupted from the elevator shaft as the beast descended towards their floor. A slight jolt of electricity still crackled at the doorway and it wouldn't be long before the shadow-beast found its way down to them. In the spaces between the loud bellows, a soft skittering could be heard from the shadows around them, but that could have just been their minds playing a trick on them.

Fira found the floor angling more and more down and found herself having a hard time walking, as she took little short steps before she finally reached the door and slowly opened it muttering to herself as she peered through the door, “A lot of this stuff is something that person on the street forgot to mention.”

Peering through the door, Fira would find that the angle was just too steep. Her balance lost, she would quickly find herself hurtling down towards the small circle of light cast by the pair in the dark hallway below's small flame.

Fira the Phoenix

Fira gasped the door slipping from her hands and she twisted around and attempted to grab it as she fell backwards but just missed it by inches. Her wings were still out at her sides and instinctively she flicked them out to try and take flight but they just hit the sides of the hallway that suddenly angled downwards and were unable to extend all the way. It did slow her down a little but mostly knocked a small plume of feathers from her wings. So in another attempt to save herself she shifted into her true vivid orange form of a bird and started to twist herself around only to slam into the floor.

She must have been a shock to Kokoro and Kasark for she fell right in front of them, nothing but a blur of sudden movement in the darkness followed by a few feathers that rocked slowly in the air to the ground a few moments after hit. Fira for the most part was okay, just a little stunned. The feathers all over her small, no bigger then a duck, bird form were puffed out and a mess while her wings rested in awkward angles around her while she took a few small breaths where her beak loosely open and her tiny tongue moving down and back along the bottom of her beak. Slowly she raised her head, the crest of feather on her head raising up staring off in the darkness unaware of the two standing behind her. Sense she couldn’t speak English in her bird form she gave a questionable chirp as if asking herself, ‘What just happened?’

The books only grew more agitated. This was not a time for giving up their information. The library was falling apart without its masters. Such a thing is quite traumatic and the books were not going to take it likely. Besides, what difference is there between taking books from a library with no librarians and stealing? As far as the books were concerned, the man was a thief, and they would not give up their treasured knowledge easily.
Z shook his head. He wasnt going to start a war with the books. He didnt know the full extent of the libraries power. And without that information it would be like fighting a cloud of smoke with a stick. Z waved his hand, and in the blink of an eye the books whized back to their original places. He didnt want to have to go back to Record with no helpful information, but if the library wasnt going to be of any help then there wasnt anything he could do about it. He began walking, heading to the stairs to go back to base. He had nothing else to do.

It would be a long walk though. And he would have to more then once probably stop to rest in the mid levels of the library.

Kasark looked at Fira curiously, a bit shocked to see a phoenix in here, but then dismissed it due to the strange things happening here. Even so, he keeps an eye on it in case it decides to attack.

Kokoro stared at the phoenix. It appeared to be harmless but there was only one way to find out for sure. "Um... Hello?" She felt like a total idiot for talking to an animal, but she had no clue how to otherwise get the attention of the bird. She watched it closely, unaware that her flame was growing smaller.

Slowly Fira began to stand then jumped spinning around on her feet after hearing a voice come from behind her. It startled her a little for people looked much more menacing when you were only a foot tall. She took a few steps back away from then eyeing them cautiously as she gave a chirp.

Kasark watches the phoenix, seeing that it is backing away. "We won't hurt you." He looks at his wife, then back to the bird.

Kokoro jumped when the bird spun around then cautiously spoke again. "Uh... We don't mean any harm... As long as that's not your intent either." Again, Kokoro made an odd expression, feeling awkward for talking to a bird that apparently couldn't speak.
