Kiamara1 Yami Takashi You know its funny how much a 12 year difference can make you feel so old school. My 10-year-old girl cousin wears clothes my older cousin didn't start wearing until she was 16. I've notice that little girls are dressing skimpier every year. They even have tongs for 4 year olds. What kind of sickos makes this stuff!?!? Stilettos in every variant (open toe ect.) in kid sizes? Hello Kitty shorts that are cut like those Misty on Pokémon wore? What the hell is happening to the world, are the ***** working out some master plan to make little girls into sultry sexpots. Am I just too oldschool and out of fashion to understand this horrible crime against humanity? Dude I got a 4 year old daughter who does stuff on the computer and wants a cell phone. Craziness I tell you. yikes, you better have some good adult filters and stuff. Last thing we need is a 4 year old coming to a place like gaia and cyber bullying people and talking smack in the forums O,o

Let's not forget some of the sexual stuff on here. I mean she could see Alurna's Rose stuff, and we REALLY don't want her influenced by that. I would be VERY strict with what I let her do on the internet. I also would NOT let her get a cell phone until she's AT LEAST middle school, if not High School...

Ayanami Rei First Child I'm not sure what you're trying to get at. Just because I don't care for the ways guys looks, doesn't mean that Anime hasn't taught me when a guy looks pretty. Even gay guys understand when someone looks good in the sex they're not attracted to rolleyes I knows I is pretty! Dont fill my head with such lies and nonsense! xd

Here's a little fun fact, did you know back in the day that Christmas was celebrated much in the same way as Halloween? In fact if you didn't give them treats, they would play some rather nasty tricks on you.

Thing is no one teaches morals anymore and the generation of children that grew up with the Hollywood pop-culture are now designing the clothes for this generation's children. Though that's not the only cause, the fact that they didn't teach morals then and those without moral aren't teaching this generation morals now, means people of good character are no longer the role models of kids, rather now its these moral-less gutter trash celebrities that children are idolizing. And the marketeers of which morals never got in the way of making a few quick bucks (or what looks now to be a fortune), are making these things to market to kids that the moral-less parents are more then eager to buy when their kids ask for them. Parents that are more worried about whither or not their child is popular then whither they make good grades or have values.

Parents that are more worried about whither or not their child is popular then whither they make good grades or have values. ...I would say that the kids-dressing-sluttier isn't really a moral issue...^^' At least not in the way that you are presenting it. [morals and values are subjective anyway]. It's just a cultural trend that America is going through right now...and it may or may not be to people's taste. Although our culture is also pretty deficient in the morality department if you ask me. The sexualizing of children [girls, really] has to do more with our beauty culture and what people find desirable. I would argue that it is wrong in that it promotes ideals than not everyone can attain [you know, because only *attractive* kids will successfully pull off such looks]...and it probably encourages *****, but I don't really know. It is creepy seeing kids dressed like Bratz dolls. But if you just think it's inappropriate, why? Because the kids looks "slutty"? How do you know they have no other values? Such looks are already mainstream and probably won't be viewed as "sexualizing" looks in the future. Though I would agree the celebrities kids worship these days are sickening and the kind of marketing that is geared towards children is annoying. ^^' And I wouldn't say parents buying their children these clothes are immoral [or even that they also only care about their kids being popular...that's oversimplifying the issue]...more like such parents are just irresponsible, if you believe kids shouldn't be dressing this way. I just don't get what morals you think kids should be taught...how to dress?

I'm not the only person who finds this shocking, and one of the many reasons it's popular is because parents allow it to become that. It's not just the clothes, girls in general are becoming more and more sexually active at earlier ages. Unfortunately they aren't even getting correct information, such as thinking if it's Oral Sex they can't get STDs and such. I can hardly imagine the clothes being able to help with this, and I could easily make the claim that it would just encourage them. I mean it's not strictly about the clothes themselves, the are a symptom of these times. It's more about what they represent and how they foster lust. I mean back in my day it wasn't nearly as common for girls in Middle School to be having sex...and now they're off in High School or College Parties having orgies, or doing Blow Job lines. It teaches girls that sex is intimacy and love, and those messages can be rather destructive for girl's self-esteem and mental health. It certainly won't help those guys to truely love and respect these girls.
Like I said it's not about the clothes per say. I wouldn't mind if my young girl wanted to dress like a punk rocker...or have stylized holes...or was dressing Goth.

Ayanami Rei First Child ...I'm surprised to hear a voice of Moral Reasoning in terms of Sexuality coming from Yami. Although I have to admit YOU are quite right. Our country is getting more and more sexed. I wouldn't be surprised if before I die, we become like that one European country that has Masturbation time for kids under 8. Ugh. The problem is that you see girls like Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and others as Role Models. Hell look at how disgustingly popular Paris Hilton is, and for what? Being some rich party slut!! THAT is the problem with all the sex getting pumped in, and not enough morals to pump it out. I mean back in my day we AT LEAST waited until High School to loose our virginity, until today's time. Middle Schoolers going "Oh it's not sex it's oral", yet that can get that HPV virus through that, which leads to CANCER. Or "Oh I'm still a virgin, but I've had a**l so I can get preggers or STDs!" which you CAN get preggers, but it's harder, and it's MUCH easier to get STDs in the a**. You see Yami this is what Momi feels like. ^^; That's was a bit surprising to hear that from Yami, but that's a good thing. Morals are hard to find these days and the fact that the children are idolizing the country's moral sewer makes it all that much easier to make these kids go willingly into the new area of sexualization, a ***** wonderland. And parents are so worried about their children becoming victims, well sending them out dressed as bait isn't decreasing those odds any. And these kids fail to realizes there is no such thing as "Safe Sex, Safer Sex or Safer Forms of Sex". If they would actually read the condom or birth control disclaimers on the back in small print. And a**l sex is the most dangerous form of them all. I was reading a letter by John Quincey Adams to his then President of the United States & Founding Father, John Adams. He was age 7 when he wrote it. Its was more articulate then most adults these days. He was using using large words. He even felt that he needed to be more accountable with his time (too much time playing) and that he wasn't rising up to the exceptions of himself. He even expressed in the letter that his ability to write the letter wasn't good enough for to bother his father to even read. Nowadays, most children at his age are just learning to spell five or six litter words with basic meanings and forget about basic respect. I only mention this because I feel part of the problem these days is that our education standards have become so pathetic and the teaching of respect and exceptions of self-achievement are all but non-existent anymore. People of good character are called bigots (because they teach morals) and the celebrities (despite the fact they live deplorable and wretched lives or are a drug addict) are Gods because they want to save the environment and dress like porn stars.

I just don't get what morals you think kids should be taught...how to dress? Its because (whether or not you find them subjective or not) most of the biblical morals that began to fade away at the beginning of the the sexual revolution have been forgotten by most. One of those morals is dressing modestly (which is actually a sin not to in the Bible). And whither or not you believe modesty is subjective as well (which to some extent it is) you still can't find what these celebrities and designers to be marketing by any standards as "Modest". And to be seeing things going downhill as fast as they have in these last couple generations, I wouldn't be surprised if they made public nudity legal a few generations down the road. And that's not an over exaggeration rather just extremely pessimistic.
